F2FHQ 099 - Ben Coomber on Finding Balance with Macros and Calories

Should we be trying to be so low carb?  I guess not.  Let's hear what Ben Coomber, a #1 rated health podcaster, has to say about the matter. We talk about our accents but also more serious things like what you can do to fix your intake for optimal fat loss and health.

Welcome to the Fat2Fit HQ podcast.  I’m your host, Carol Salva of the Firearms Radio Network.  In this podcast, we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle, not only in diet but in all areas of life.

Ben Coomber: http://bencoomber.com Ben has an amazing podcast.  This is how he describes it: A full fat show on everything nutrition, food, human performance and being f**ing awesome, hopefully with a touch of humour. Ben Coomber is a performance nutritionist, coach, presenter and owner of Body Type Nutrition. Loves coffee, rugby, lifting heavy stuff and eating insane food. Past obesity statistic. Lives to find the extra 1%'s that make us better performing individuals, his co-host is the amazing Rachel Guy, the Athletic Fox.. . . . . . BOOM!

Ben addresses a question by Sandy Dumond.  She is very active, has lost a great deal of weight and is eating clean.  But Sandy has stalled out and can't get rid of her  "bingo wings" and "jelly belly."  Ben gives us things to think about regarding her current calorie amounts, where they should probably be and how to get there without gaining weight. Uncut Video:

F2FHQ 089 - Andrea "AJ" Jengle on Success for Women with Carb Nite and Carb Backloading

Many of us could use help applying cutting edge science to our everyday lives to meet our goals. Well, we are in luck!  Stress hacker and online personal trainer, Andrea "AJ" Jengle, is here with a female lens on Carb Nite and Carb Backloading.  But her advice applies to men as well.  She can speak from her own experience and as a trainer of women where she is having a lot of success with both protocols.   Listen in to hear how we can focus on our health so that things can really start to fall into place. Welcome to the Fat2Fit HQ podcast.  I’m your host, Carol Salva of the Firearms Radio Network.   In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.

Also follow Andrea as she is a regular guest with John Kiefer  and Dr. Rocky Patel on www.body.io

.

Andrea Jengle (AJ) is a personal trainer and owner of HER Fitness Solutions. HER Fitness Solutions offers personal, specialized online training for women.   AJ created Her Fitness Solutions to guide women to a goal of looking and feeling great and being able to achieve that in the healthiest way possible.  AJ has successfully incorporated John Kiefer's protocols, Carb Back-loading and The Carb Nite Solution, into her clients programs.  She has also utilized CBL and CNS to achieve her own fitness goals and get the physique she's always wanted.

For regular folks wanting to shed fat, (not performance athletes) do you think it’s insulin levels or ketosis that makes the difference?

How you work with women now?

What about people who think you’re genetically gifted?

Feedback from community:

Angela Neale:  So far this year I've been working to be fat adapted. I don't pee on pieces of paper (keto sticks) or check my blood ketone levels or anything like that, I've just been concerned with eating nutritious foods and eating pretty low carb/high fat. I've been doing well with that as far as my energy levels are and my performance while working out, and genereal well being throughout the day go. My issue is that I'm maintaining my weight/body fat and I would like to be losing inches and body fat.  Not excited about using low-nutrient/processed foods: Would starchy carbs (real foods that only need to be cooked to processed) work?

AJ had already addressed Angela’s questions in earlier conversation.  She can’t give specific advice without knowing more about Angela but she always suggests that folks do Carb Nite properly before moving on to Carb Backloading or giving up on Carb Nite.

ITUNES REVIEWS     THANK YOU!!!!!

Mostdominant:  Carol is so positive and inspiring!  5 Stars!

Carol Salva and company just exude positivity and cheerfulness in a wonderfully infectious manner, it is hard not to walk away from this podcast completely motivated.  I also love how its all about the journey and they are not afraid to show their faults and failures that they’ve encountered in the past...and are still facing.  Keep up the good work guys!

OccupiedTerritoryShooter:  Great Show!  5 Stars

Thanks Carol and Co. for keeping me Happy, Healthy and often laughing while I am working.  You make my long drives enjoyable and informative.

Kreigmachine:  I am fat. 5 stars!

You will get me slapped….but I love your show.

FROM THE COMMUNITY

Susan Hall:  I am a listener of the show from the beginning! It is great, both funny and inspiring. What I like most is that it is about real people who struggle with some of the same issues I have. I listen to all the podcasts with the experts, but this one seems so real to me.

I have been on a long journey of trying to lose weight, but most of all, get healthy. I hit rock bottom in August of 2012 and since then have lost just about 70 lbs. I still have a very long road ahead of me, but in that time I have learned so much about how to take care of myself and the proper way to eat. I found the Paleo/Primal way of eating at my lowest moment and haven't looked back. Although I still have setbacks, I feel I have gained the knowledge to fight through them and stay true to what I believe is the correct way to eat for me.

I am also writing you to turn you on to an eye opening documentary that I watched recently. It is called Cereal Killers. I am not very good at giving summaries so here is the website:http://www.cerealkillersmovie.com/cereal-killers-movie. There is also a facebook page for it. I love, love, love this movie. It is not on Netflix or Amazon so you would have to rent it from the website. It is 4.99, but so worth it. I actually bought it so I can show it to my family members when they are open to it. Anyway, check it out if you get the chance.

Sorry this note ended up being so long. Thanks again for the podcast. I look forward to it every week.

Thanks so much for sharing your story Susan!  How very insightful.  I loved the "stay true to what I believe" part.  With all the confusion out there, that seems so wise.  It is no wonder you've made such progress!  See you over on Facebook to chat some more!  - Carol

F2FHQ 083 - Mindset is Everything

How badly do you want to reach your goals?  Are you thoughts taking you closer or further from your success?  Jake Challand joins us this week to discuss the power of your beliefs, awareness of what motivates you, and buying your lunch at a lumbar yard.

Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast.  We are your hosts, Jake Challand and Carol Salva of the Firearms Radio Network.   In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.

Jake found this around lunchtime when he was at a lumber yard.  Don’t tell me you can’t make ½ way decent choices almost anywhere...

From the Community:

Sandy Drummond from Facebook and Fitbit Group: Just listened to the latest episode with Kefir. Ahahha more confusion lol You are struggling with that last 10 lbs correct? Have you ever heard of JJ Virgin? She talks about how if you are sensitive to a food your weight could be from the inflammation these foods cause.   It's a tough diet to follow. I fell off the wagon when I was training for a half marathon while on the diet and felt was losing too much ( can't believe those words are coming from my mouth).  You eliminate gluten, eggs, dairy, soy, corn, peanuts and sugar/sweeteners. Think this could be your issue?

http://crantonwellness.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/virgin-diet-quick-start-guide.pdf

Thank you Sandy.  I have promised myself that I am going to follow JJ's protocol some day.  I'm just knee deep in Carb Nite right now.  Thank you for this link.  I hope it helps a listener.  I know it will help me.  Thank you so much.   -Carol

James R. Sanders, MFP:  Carol!!! I found your podcast through FRN and finally got caught up! I'm a gun guy, a machinist, a musician, a foody and a beer lover. I'm 29 and my fitness and nutrition is more or less maintenance at this point. I'm 5foot9 and when I was 18 I weighed 120lbs, I was tiny!! It took about 7 years to hit 150lbs and considered myself in great shape. 2 years ago I hit 170lbs and had to change something to prevent the 30 year old landslide. My journey is the opposite of most of your listeners but gaining weight, healthy weight, is a struggle all the same. I love the show, good info and interesting ideas! I'm not sure if I'll keep up with this MFP thing, but we'll see!!!

James, Thank you so much for the great feedback.  This is such great perspective.  We don't talk about it enough, but you are right.  Gaining healthy weight is challenging in this day and age, right?  Keep up the healthy living James!  See you on Myfitnesspal. - Carol

Come join us on our journeys from Fat to Fit!  A show about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life

F2FHQ 082 - Gun Guys on Getting Healthy

FRN favorites, Hank Hockey and Devin Blystone, join Carol to give some great perspective on what life is like in our real worlds.  Listen in, you might identify with a single guy, a dad of two or a mom of three.  Surely something said in this roundtable will inspire you to join us on a journey to a healthier life!

Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. I’m your host, Carol Salva and along with me are Hank Hockey and Devin Blystone of the Firearms Radio Network .   In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.

Topic:  Hank Hockey and Devin Blystone, from the FRN Network

Hank Hockey Director of Sales at FRN and former CoHost of Gun Guy Radio: Skinny kid with high metabolism. Couldn’t gain weight to save my life...then 30 hit! REALLY want to start eating better overall. Not just me, but my family. Wife and two daughters, 13 and 11. Competitive dancers (one that has a super fast metabolism and one that has a very slow metabolism). The toughest part is getting everyone on the same page when their bodies require different amounts...trying to figure out what approach to start with. Having some physical ailments (tendon tears) that keep hanging me up and keeping me from starting to work out again, not to mention the extreme cold and snow that we’ve been having in Chicago that keeps us indoors a lot lately...did I mention that I make excuses for everything...you probably already figured that out! Hahahaha  http://www.myfitnesspal.com/GunguyHank

Devin Blystone of Firearms Insider & Producer of Gun & Gear Podcast: Skinny kid, chubby teen, fat young adult by eating fast food and pizza rolls (especially when I figured out I could have bacon any time I wanted). Started hating that I all my friends were skinny. Asked my friend about zee gym he was going to. Convinced me to come try it after hanging out one day. Started going a lot. Listened to the owner(used to be a trainer at another gym). Started eating better. Plateaued around 230, just started track what I eat this past week. 285 when I started and now 225.75.  http://www.myfitnesspal.com/DevinBly

Carol Salva of Fat2Fit HQ:  My story - chubby kid.  Chubby Adult.  But after kids, too much weight that wasn’t going anywhere.  I’ve starved myself, yo-yo dieting, tried quick-fix pills and such.  Finally, committed to losing the weight in 2009.  Over trained and super low calorie restriction got me way down (below a healthy weight) and then I couldn’t maintain it.  That is when I got obsessed.  Thankfully, the obsession has lead me to learn about myself and new ways of making healthy choices that don’t put weight on me.  Struggling with 10lbs of Christmas weight.  No time to exercise much lately.  Hoping “The Carb Nite Solution” will be the answer.

This works well if I'm working late or I know motivation to really work out isn't gonna be there. I make many smaller tasks like "25 sit ups" or "50 squats" and space them between cooking and chores. Seeing them written up on the wall makes me want to do them and take the post it down, but then again I might be a tad OCD.

Bigmoneyscott:  Inspiring me to lose 60 lbs so far!

Started looking for a gun podcast and thought I would give this one a try.  With my surprise, it changed my life.  They interview a lot of inspirational podcasters that taught me the proper way to eat and sleep.  In turn it will cause us to be healthy first, and as a result it will lead us to lose weight and become a healthy weight.  Give it a try!  It was well worth it to me!

Dear Bigmoneyscott:  WOW!!  What a great story you have.  Your feedback is sure to inspire other folks.  We are really touched that our show has had a positive effect on your life.  Sixty pounds is impressive for anyone.  You’re the one doing the work, so be sure to congratulate yourself.  Thank you so much for the review.  And keep up the great work! - Carol

F2FHQ 081 - John Kiefer, Carb Night and Carb Backloading

Let them eat cake!  But timing when you eat that cake is everything according to physicist and author of The Carb Nite Solution, John Kiefer.  Listen in this week to learn some basics about how to use carbohydrates to your advantage.  Carol and Lisa pick his brain about what should be considered for the high-performance athlete, the average Joe and the middle aged mom just trying to get ready for bikini season.

Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. I’m your host, Carol Salva and along with me is Lisa Jarmon of Middletown, Ohio and John Kiefer of Athlete io.  In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.

Topic:  John Kiefer

Introduction:  John Kiefer has a Masters in Physics, a former career in software engineering, author of The Carb Nite® Solution and Carb Back-Loading, Manual for Total Body Fat Control.  He is also the host of a new podcast, Body io FM.  Kiefer combines the best of laboratory research with tried-and-true real-world knowledge to guide himself and those who seek his advice. You can find all his links at http://athlete.io/.

Uncut video version of podcast:  http://youtu.be/nbpXYadZHsI

Lisa’s questions: Do you believe leucine is an appropriate tool for those who have difficulty regaining a state of ketosis following their carb nite? Is there any benefit or risk to intermittent fasting (until perhaps lunchtime) on the days between carb nites? Is it problematic not to eat on the day after carb nite if not hungry? Is morning exercise in a fasted state advised or discouraged? When will the new podcasts begin?

Carol’s questions: How did you discover this?  What lead you to this research? Can you explain the basic foundations of Carb Nite vs. Carb Backloading and why it works? Can you tell us how this is different for women… if it is? How important are heavy workouts for fat loss?  How do you feel about overall calories?

Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. We are your co-hosts, I am Jack Templin and along with me is Carol Salva, of the Firearms Radio Network.  In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.

Tip of the Week:  Instead of placing a chicken on a roasting rack, cut thick slices of onion, put them in an oiled pan, then place the chicken on top. The onion will absorb the chicken juices. After roasting, let the chicken rest while you make a sauce with the onions by adding a little stock or water to the pan and cooking it for about 3 minutes on high heat. - Mary in Cleveland

Unedited Video of this week's show:

Tip of the Week: Avocado tip from Jenny Challand. Jenny tells us to a few things about avocados that you may or may not know. She tells us to pick an avocado that has slight give and isn't completely green. To cut it: Slice it down to pit, all the way around vertically. Pop out the pit, score the inside into 'cubes' then dependent on how ripe the avocado is you can scoop it out wit

h a spoon or just slightly squeeze the sides towards each other and the 'fruit' will pop right out

**ITUNES reviews** Careful what you wish for. We got a “so-so” review from DonnaRae. She only gave us 3 stars. Donna writes; I’m not 100% crazy about this podcast but I’ll try a couple more before deciding about subscribing. Seems to be a lot of personal opinion and chatter rather than facts and helpful info.

OUCH Donna Rae! No, seriously, thank you for the constructive review. We don’t claim to be experts so it is a tricky thing. We don’t want to give advice but I bet we can do more to give at least facts about what is working for us or working for other folks. And we have started incorporating a listener tip so maybe that will be helpful to you. Mostly, this show is a long chronicle of our journeys. Ours and those of our listeners. It is meant to be entertaining but also motivating. So folks know they are not alone. We do, however have some great informative shows in our history where we’ve brought on guests that can actually give you some great advice. Here are a few to check out. Thank you again for the honest feedback! - Carol

From the Community:Angela Lastname (Angela from Canada) Yeah, yeah, I’m back. LOL Do you know if it's possible to set MFP to only record your exercise (and not dock you 2000 calories for not entering food?) I know on a podcast you said Zeke (maybe?) was only recording exercise? I only ask because I'm doing this crazy elimination diet and not super interested in logging my food all the time (I'm writing it in my day planner, along with other key items I'm self examining). I really look forward to seeing how the Calorie Myth method of working out goes! Thanks again for all your awesomeness, encouragement and keeping us all accountable in staying with the podcast. I really appreciate all your hard work! Angela

Thank you Angela!  I'm still so tickled to have you back in the fold!  :)  I wish I knew the answer to this.  I don't.  I did read it on air so we can appeal to all the MFP folks we have out there to see if there is anyone doing the same thing with the site.  I applaud you and your elimination diet.  SO tough to do but SUCH great information you will get on yourself.  Please keep us posted!!  - Carol

F2FHQ 077 - Lisa Jarmon, Down 94 lbs and Ready for Tough Mudder

What did she do to lose so much weight and keep it off??  Well...everything.  Join us this week as Lisa Jarmon tells us about different protocols that she has tried and how successful each was.   Lisa has some great words of wisdom and her favorite free resources to share with us.

Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. I’m Carol Salva of the Firearms Radio Network and along with me is Lisa Jarmon of Middletown, Ohio.   In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.

TOPIC:  Lisa Jarmon's Story:

In November of 2009, I found myself at 262 lbs.  Somehow I had allowed myself to get closer to 300 than 200 - sobering! I knew that with a family history of heart disease, I was headed for an early grave.  Starting with Weight Watchers and journeying through a number of plans and methods (some wiser than others), I’ve lost 94 lbs. and would like to lose an additional 20-30.  Since I was urged to set a goal for this year (Carol:), I am working hard at fine tuning it and figuring out what it will really take to get to my goal.

I’d like to share some of what I’ve learned, some of the best resources I’ve found, my biggest frustration about sharing my story, and what I’m most passionate about.

Tip of the Week:

Samantha Sgruggs, RD gave us a great tip for Brussel Sprouts.  “You just gotta cook them right! Some people steam them or boil, which traps that Brassica gas. Saute = best.@Nutri2Fruition

From Jay aka Geardad

Howdy, Carol! I really only have ONE goal for 2014 and that is to actively pursue kaizen - (Philosophy of improvement or change for the best.)   I just want to make small incremental changes to improve myself, and thus my life. But to be more specific:

1. Be a better dad and husband today than I was yesterday.

2. Tell my wife every day that I love her. (Sadly, I don't do that hardly enough. It's mostly the autopilot stuff - you know, before I leave or after I come home, before we go to bed at night, etc. I want to just surprise her with it every day.)

3. Continue to experiment and find out what works for me and what doesn't as far as diet and exercise go.

4. Focus on HEALTHY, rather than skinny.

5. Do some kind of mud run.

6. Get my family to Houston.

And that's it. Thank y'all so much for what you do. It makes more of a difference than you know.

Jay, aka GEARDad, from the People's Republik of Kalifornistan

Jay:  THANK YOU so much for creating the Fat2Fit HQ Instagram account!  We will all have fun following it.  I love your goal for 2014.  You just keep improving.  We should all have that as our basic goal.  Keep up the great work Jay!  - Carol

Carol: Doesn’t seem like enough exercise.  Few pages in the book dedicated to that.  Machines help.

Need motivation??  R. Lee Ermey, aka “The Gunny,” tells us to get off our backsides and take control of our lives!  Gunny is the iconic star of Full Metal Jacket, TV host of Mail Call and Lock N’ Load, ambassador for GLOCK, and former Marine Corps Drill Instructor. Recently he was the voice of Sarge in the Toy Story movies!  In this interview, the Gunny holds nothing back. We talk about his new book,  Gunny’s Rules: How to Get Squared Away Like a Marine, how he got his life and body “squared away” after gaining weight in his 60’s and how readers can do the same if they are willing to get off the couch and follow instructions.

TOPIC:  In the thick of the holiday season now.  How it’s going?

Free Documentary American Meat (Thanks Lisa Jarmon): http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/11/23/american-meat.aspx

How to Survive the Holidays, blogpost from ABEL JAMES: http://www.fatburningman.com/how-to-survive-the-holidays-without-gaining-weight/?awt_l=7nMjU&awt_m=3gcj4YGIHnbvm1.

  1. Focus on satiety: During the big meals focus on eating to get full, not stuffed. You don’t need to be counting calories or analyzing the ingredients, just chill out and load your plate up with 80-90% meats and veggies – foods that will satisfy you – then leave a little room to have a treat or two. If your meal satisfies you, you’ll be much less likely to overeat.
  2. Know your trigger foods: acknowledge which foods might trigger a binge episode and eat something else instead.
  3. Plan to indulge, but not to the point of sickness: Plan to indulge and eat your favorite foods, but dedicate yourself to enjoying the process, not fearing what might happen. Plan to eat a cookie or two, savor them, then move on. Planning to indulge eliminates anxiety, reduces guilt, and allows for a balanced to eating and drinking.
  4. Separate your emotions from food: The holidays are stressful. Don’t use food to cope. In your plan, figure out what you’re going to do when something stresses you out. How about a relaxing walk? A spot o’ tea? A Will Ferrell movie? Whatever you do, don’t impulse-grab at a plate of cookies and shove them in your face. Not worth it.
  5. Relax and enjoy yourself: Be merry. Good vibes are contagious.

FEEDBACK:

JAMMOR66:  I follow the podcast all the time. I started with the guys but you have taken it to the next level. I am walking, fight night (game exercising) and watching what I am eating. Hit a plateau between 224 and 229 but I am not giving up. I sing at my church and it feels so much easier down 30 lbs! The complements on my appearance help too! I hunt and try to get out shooting with friends and I am trying to work on them to do a mud walk/run of some type ASAP. Please keep it up and I also can't wait to see/hear Carol Gets a Gun.

Thanks for connecting with us on Sparkpeople Jammor!  It's been great to chat back and forth with you!  I love your Sparkpage and how motivating it is to see your determination!  Plateau's are the WORST.  But I think the key is just realizing that it is just a plateau and you have to just figure out how to bust through it.  So you GO and keep Jammin More into life!  - Carol

FEEDBACK:

From Jay M.

Hi Carol - I've been listening to FRN for a long time now, and like most gun guys, I listened to every podcast except Fat2FitHQ. Then I started to get tired of being in the shape I was, so I gave y'all a try and let me tell you the timing of everything couldn't be more perfect. I've got about 15 episodes left before I'm caught up. You are incredibly inspiring, and your positive attitude is something that I just can't get enough of. I'm actually on this site just so I could friend you! Hopefully you accept. Thank you for what you do, and keep up the amazing work!

Thank you Jay!  It has been fun connecting with you on Myfitnesspal and on Fitbit!  Looking forward to motivating each other.  Thanks so much for your kind words about the show and for being part of our community!  - Carol

The Calorie Myth

Jonathan Bailor’s GREAT NEW BOOK COMING OUT SOON

Preorder here to raise funds for Typhoon victims

I am getting an early preview copy of Jonathan Bailor’s new book The Calorie Myth: How to Eat More, Exercise Less, Lose Weight and Live Better, and I CAN’T WAIT!  We know it will be based in science and will be written with Jonathan’s wit.  If you remember, Jonathan was on this show back in episode 48 earlier this year.  His advice is based on more than a decade of research and endorsed by top doctors and researchers from Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins, and UCLA.   I have communicated enough now with Jonathan that I consider him a friend.  His book The Calorie Myth, offers a radically new and scientifically proven model for sustainable weight loss: the key to long-term success is not the quantity of calories that we eat or exercise off, but rather the quality of our food and exercise.

I am not getting any royalties from the sale of this book.  I’ve just listened to Jonathan on his podcast long enough to know that he is the real deal and this book could be life changing for many.  The book will be published December 31, 2013, by HarperCollins. But if you pre-order now, you can gain access to myriad bonuses including a free ebook, recipes, eating and exercise plans, and even videos.

Pre-Order Here: http://thecaloriemythbook.com/caloriemythcharitydrive

I will be getting my copy soon and will be offering an official review for you.  I just wanted to get folks the links in case you wanted to get your asap like I did.  If you do, let me know that you think.  - Carol

Carol, if you need another reason to buy one, check this out: http://earnd.it/13ILptp.  You can sync your Fitbit account with Earndit which allows you to earn credits based on how much activity you do and you can use those credits towards some cool rewards.  You can also join Challenges, where along with encouraging you to be active, your name is entered into a drawing to win some awesome prizes. What a great way to give you an incentive to be more active and think of all the credits you would earn during your Tough Mudder!

FEEDBACK:

From Chris Tinder:  Checking in with my favorite fitness podcast.  I drank the kool-aid (or...preworkout...whatever) that is Crossfit.  I was on the /r/crossfit subreddit when I saw this blog entry.  It's about nutrition and balance.  I thought it was hilarious and wanted to share.

http://gawkish.wordpress.com/2013/10/22/three-nutrition-lessons-explained-by-dessert/

And I thought I'd include my favorite line about how some people think while doing paleo:

"Eating bacon wrapped steak fried in coconut oil every meal is probably the most awesome and least creative fantasy I can come up with, but it’s not really conducive to a long-term plan for healthy living."

Keep it healthy!  - Chris

Thanks for this article and the quote Chris.  It is great to hear from you again.  And even more cool that we are all hooked up on Myfitnesspal.  Great to have you in a group of other health-conscious individuals that are trying to live real life.  I want  you to know that I am now moved to make myself a bacon wrapped steak fried in coconut oil.  YOUR FAULT.  LOL.   See ya on MFP!  - Carol iTUNES!
