Forgetful Dog

A dog walks into a butcher shop and the butcher asks, “What do you want?” The dog points to steak in a glass case. “How many pounds?” The dog barks twice. “Anything else?” The dog points to some pork chops and barks four times. So the butcher wraps up a two-pound steak and four pork chops, and places the bag in the dog’s mouth. He then takes money from a purse tied around the dog’s neck, and sees him out.

A customer, who has been watching in amazement, follows the dog to a house several blocks away, where it rings the doorbell to be let in. As the owner appears at the door, the customer says, “What a remarkable dog!”

“Remarkable?” snorts the owner. “This is the second time this week he’s forgotten his keys.”

Gun-toting customers stop attack at SC car dealership, report says
ROCK HILL, S.C. —

A pair of legally armed customers at a car dealership stopped an attack in which a man threatened to kill employees and smashed vehicles with a pipe wrench, according to the Associated Press and a report in The State newspaper.

Aaron Hayes,16th Circuit assistant solicitor, said Alonzo Seegars was unhappy with the service at a car dealership in Fort Mill, and armed himself with a pipe wrench.

The State reported that Seegars threatened to kill a female employee and smashed three vehicles with the wrench Dec. 21 before two customers with concealed carry permits intervened and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

York County deputies used a stun gun and then tackled Seegars, who suffered a broken leg,the report says.

The report says Seegars was in court Friday for a bond hearing. Seegars was not taken to jail, but hospitalized for physical and mental health reasons. He was served warrants Jan. 2 on charges of attempted murder, assault and battery and breach of peace in an aggravated nature.

An employee testified at Seegars’ bond hearing that the suspect had previously threatened people at the dealership, and on Dec. 21, backed him into a corner with the pipe wrench before a profanity-laced tirade of death threats and smashed cars, The State reported.

Seegars is being held with bond set at $25,000.

My Kids Don’t Know What I Do

I’ve been working on my PhD in engineering for the past five years, but my kids don’t necessarily see that as work.

As we were driving past Walmart one day, my son spotted a Now Hiring sign and suggested that I could get a job there.

Hoping to make a point, I asked, “Do you think they’re looking for an engineer?”

“Oh, sure,” he said. “They’ll hire anybody.”

I’ve listened to you for years and appreciate you spreading the word about guns WITHOUT profanity. We need more firearms information that is family friendly. It is so refreshing knowing I can listen to our show and recommend you to my Christian friends and know I don't have to worry about anything inappropriate. HILLSBOROUGH, NC

Pastor Austin Brown was studying alone Thursday afternoon in Five Forks Baptist Church when he heard a noise.

He saw a strange car in the parking lot of the church, located in the rural northern Orange County community of Cedar Grove, and drawing his pistol from his pocket, he continued to investigate. As he rounded a corner, he found a man in the church office. He thought about his wife and baby daughter, who were due to arrive at any time, and the women decorating in the church’s fellowship hall, he said.

Brown, 27, said he doesn’t recall what he said to the man – later identified as Cory Vondell Bradshaw, 38, of 3135 Callaway Drive in Mebane. Bradshaw took off running when he saw the pistol, Brown said, and he followed, firing a warning shot and then two shots at the man’s car. As Bradshaw sped off, Brown returned to the church to call 911.

“Based on the (concealed carry) training they give you, they tell you when you have a legal right to defend yourself,” he said. “I didn’t want to hurt Mr. Bradshaw at all. I just wanted to try to prevent him from escaping, and the way I knew to do that was to disable his vehicle.”

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies, investigators, and K9 and civil process officers responded around 3 p.m. and began their search. A gunshot that hit the car’s tire left Bradshaw with a flat a few miles from the church. Deputies said he pulled behind an abandoned golf course on McDade Store Road to change the tire, and that’s where Sgt. Brandon Lassiter found him with the spare tire in hand.

Bradshaw fled on foot, leaving his car behind, Lassiter reported. Deputies began searching the woods and finding Bradshaw around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Carr Store and Compton Road.

Bradshaw confessed to the crime after being arrested, sheriff’s officials said. He was charged with felony breaking and entering, attempted larceny and resisting arrest, and remains in the Orange County Jail under $10,000 bail.

He is proud of his team’s quick response, Sheriff Charles Blackwood said in a Facebook post Thursday, and also glad for the “cooperation and assistance provided by the residents of Cedar Grove,” which was “invaluable in helping achieve a successful outcome today.”

Brown said he’s just thankful nobody was hurt. Bradshaw apologized for breaking into the church and the congregation accepted the apology, Brown added.

“This time of year, you hate to see anybody have to go to jail,” Brown said. “Him and his family will be in our prayers.”

Sheriff’s Investigator Tim Horne, when asked about how the state’s self-defense law applies in this situation, said he wouldn’t second-guess Brown’s decision to use his pistol. The district attorney will weigh the facts once the sheriff’s office finishes its investigation, he said.

“The decisions we make in law enforcement and as citizens are not always crystal clear,” Horne said.

“A rapidly evolving situation like that, where you’re caught off guard, you’re surprised, you’re in fear, you react,” he said, “and when things settle down, maybe you would have done the exact same thing or maybe you would have done something different, but you don’t have that luxury of time when something’s in progress.”

State law allows the use of force to stop an attacker who poses an imminent danger to themselves or others. Non-deadly force can be used against someone breaking into a home, workplace or car, the law states, and a person with the right to be at that location does not have to retreat.

However, a person who chooses to use deadly force is required to stop if the intruder or attacker leaves.

Brown, who grew up in the church, said he started carrying a pistol when he lived out of state for several years. His family returned to Orange County in 2016, and about a month ago, he finished the classes and paperwork to get his concealed carry permit.

“Just for personal protection, and when you’re responsible for a lot of people, you want to make sure that they’re taken care of, and I feel like that’s part of my responsibility. As a pastor, if I can prevent something from happening to a member, I want to be able to try to do that.”

A boy scout says to his scout leader, "Sir, is this snake poisonous?"
The scout leader says, "No, that snake's not poisonous at all."
So the boy picks up the snake which bites him, and the boy starts to spasm and foam at the mouth as the other kids look on in horror.

The scout leader says, "But that snake is venomous. Poison is ingested or absorbed, while venom is injected. Let's get it right next time, boys."

Doug,

In your last podcast, you had asked about what podcast engine that the listeners used. I use iTunes.  Have you thought about a time when you and Troy have a meet up at the duck blind? I would love to come to that. I also had a problem snoring but I cured it by using Snore Doc (there are others, Pure Sleep etc.) appliance. I no longer snore with that unit and didn’t have to go to the Doctor. Keep up the great work.

Doug,,

Would you mind if I asked what kind of work you do at the hospital? I heard on a recent G&G episode that your hospital had a "go-live", and I had only heard that term used about electronic medical record implementations, like Epic or Cerner.

Personally, I have been working with Epic for almost 10 years now, so just thought I would ask.

Bible Verse

The Lord's Prayer

1 Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples." 2 And he said to them, "When you pray, say:

"Father, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come.

3 Give us each day our daily bread,

4 and forgive us our sins,

for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.

And lead us not into temptation."

5 And he said to them, "Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves, 6 for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; 7 and he will answer from within, 'Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything'? 8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. 9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" Luke 11:1-13 ESV
The Prayer of Faith

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. James 5:13-19 ESV

Police say deputy fatally shot intruder at her Detroit home

Posted By Stephen Borowy

Detroit AP - Police say an off-duty sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man who had broken into her home in southwest Detroit.

The Wayne County deputy was inside the home when she heard a door being kicked in about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The deputy told investigators she grabbed her weapon and fired shots at the intruder, who was armed with a pistol and wearing a black ski mask.

The man was struck in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities didn't immediately release the names of the deputy or the man who died.

The Wayne County sheriff's office says the deputy will be assigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Bible Verse
11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord and the king's house. All that Solomon had planned to do in the house of the Lord and in his own house he successfully accomplished. 12 Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice. 13 When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. 17 And as for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, doing according to all that I have commanded you and keeping my statutes and my rules, 18 then I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, 'You shall not lack a man to rule Israel.'

19 "But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, 20 then I will pluck you up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 21 And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, 'Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?' 22 Then they will say, 'Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore he has brought all this disaster on them.'" 2 Chronicles 7:11-22

Bible Verse

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

10 For "Whoever desires to love life

and see good days,

let him keep his tongue from evil

and his lips from speaking deceit;

11 let him turn away from evil and do good;

let him seek peace and pursue it.

12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

and his ears are open to their prayer.

But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

13 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 16 having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil.

Resident shoots, kills armed intruder during struggle, cops say

Nov 1, 2017

By Noah Cohen ncohen@njadvancemedia.com NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

BELLEVILLE -- A resident fatally shot an armed intruder during a struggle with the would-be burglar late Tuesday in Belleville that also left the homeowner wounded, authorities said.

An armed man entered the Berton Place home around 10 p.m. and struggled with the resident, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. The resident was shot during the confrontation with the home invader.

"However, the resident then fatally shot the would-be burglar. After being shot, the unidentified burglar fled and collapsed in Nutley," acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Belleville Police Chief Mark Minichini said in a joint statement Wednesday.

The resident was treated for his injuries and released from an area hospital, according to prosecutor's office spokeswoman Katherine Carter.

The spokeswoman confirmed there was another suspect in the home invasion, but did not release more details.

"The investigation is very active," Carter added.

The home on Berton Place is near the Nutley and Belleville border.

Authorities did not immediately release more information, including the identity of the man who was killed. It was also unclear if more than one weapon was used in the incident.

On social media, Belleville police said the shooting was an "isolated incident."

"There is no threat to the public this appears to have been an isolated incident," the department said in a statement on Facebook Tuesday night.

Township police did not respond to a request for more information. Nutley police referred questions to the prosecutor's office.

A woman who did not provide her name, said she heard at least two pop sounds late Tuesday.

Police from Belleville and Nutley closed off the residential block as investigators worked at the scene. A Nutley Fire Department spotlight tower was set up shining on evidence markers and what appeared to be clothing on the street, near broken glass.

Anyone with information can call the prosecutor's office tip line at 1-877-TIPS4-EC or 1-877-847-7432.

Twins

A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan, you've seen Ahmal."

Hello Troy. Hope you are having a great day ✝️ thank you what you were doing for the God and Gun podcast I did not realize what the Bible said about defending yourself.  I really enjoy the Bible time with you and Doug.  Really enjoy Comedy corner. Thank you so much for what you doing for God

Doug,

I recently discovered the God and Guns podcast and I think it is great. I appreciate the fact that you and Troy stand up for Jesus Christ and Guns! More men need to listen to the call to stand up and be men.

On one of the podcasts you mentioned that you were getting a lift kit or a suspension modification to your truck. With your guide service, you probably need a heavy duty bumper to protect your truck if you don't already have one. If you need a heavy duty bumper for your truck, check out my company at Patriotarmor.net. My good friend Canaan and I started the company because we love God and trucks.

If I can help you out with anything regarding truck bumpers or lighting, please let me know.

Keep up the good work with the podcast. I will certainly keep watching on you tube.

God Bless you and Troy.

Steve

Bible Verse

The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:10-20 (ESV)

Spiritual Warfare with Rev Kenn Blanchard

Constantly we hear Media/Leaders/our Friends and Family asking why are they doing this or that: it makes no sense. We see all the camps and children of the devil aligned against the children of God. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

The enemies of Christians are forming together. “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

Pray for God to equip you for the battle. "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one." 2 Thess. 3:3

We must fight the battle as God commanded: “Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.” Rom. 12:21

The more you read scriptures, the more you pray, the more you confess sin, the more you live transparently, the more evident it is. "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Cor. 10:3-5

The enemy is afraid "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4

They boast but they have no power but fear in mans heart. "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith." 1 Pet. 5:8-9

“Through You we will push back our adversaries, through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.” Ps. 44:5

Persevere to the end: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Is. 40:31

You have to be all in for Christ: “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” Rev.12:11

Prayer Groups: "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." Matt. 18:18-19

They are cowards and cannot make a stand. “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.” Deut. 28:7

They lie aways and will never be called on it. "No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me," declares the Lord." Is. 54:17

They are not honoring of life, they desire death and destruction. “For You have girded me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.” Ps. 18:39

There are many in the church who are not believers and agents of the devil, false teachers.

There are many who will lead you astray.

Do not despair: "In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Rom. 8:37

Middletown woman fires gun into air as home break-in suspects flee
Rick McCrabb  Staff Writer

Journal-News

1:03 p.m Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017  Middletown OH

Middletown police responded to a home Saturday in the 4800 block of Ronald Drive on a report of shots fired.

After seeing two people trying to break into her home Saturday morning, a Middletown woman fired her gun into the air as the suspects ran away.

The woman, who lives in the 4800 block of Ronald Drive, told police she was asleep at 1 a.m. when she heard a noise at her front window.

She said she saw two suspects trying to get into her house through a window, according to a police report.

The woman went back into her bedroom and got her Taurus 357 firearm and fired one shot and yelled at the suspects as they ran off, according to the Middletown police report.

A Middletown police officer and his canine partner responded, but were unable to locate any suspects, the report said.

Police took possession of the woman’s gun and placed it into evidence on hold. Police told the woman they would keep a check in the area.

I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless man who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.

I took out my wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked,"If I give you this money, will you buy some beer with it instead of dinner?"

"No, I had to stop drinking years ago," the homeless man replied.

"Will you use it to go fishing instead of buying food?" I asked.

"No, I don't waste time fishing," the homeless man said.."I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive."

"Will you spend this on hunting equipment?" I asked.

"Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless man. "I haven't gone hunting in 20 years!"

"Well," I said, "I'm not going to give you money. Instead, I'm going to take you home for a shower and a terrific dinner cooked by my wife."

The homeless man was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that?

I replied, "Don't worry about that. It's important for her to see what a man looks like after he has given up drinking, fishing and hunting."

Guys,

Just wanted to give an update. I am now going to Outpatient Rehab twice a week for 1 hour sessions. I am doing much better without oxygen at home, but I still sleep with it and use it during exercise. Taking care of my now 10 month old daughter is getting much easier now. I am still not working as I want to focus on recovering and going to rehab.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. I always love listening to your podcasts.

Suspect shot while trying to rob armored car driver

10/06/17| by Jennifer Cruz
A 33-year-old man was shot Saturday morning while attacking an armored car guard in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood during an attempted robbery, according to reports.

As of Tuesday, the suspect, identified as Jerry Adams, remained hospitalized, although his current condition is not known. Police charged Adams with attempted robbery, and committing and threatening physical violence to a person and property.

Police say Adams slipped on a yellow and orange safety vest and then picked up a sledgehammer as a Garda World armored truck arrived at a currency exchange around 8:25 a.m. According to the Chicago Tribune, the driver reported seeing Adams through the window of the vehicle, but did not believe he was suspicious.

But when the driver exited the armored truck and started to make his way to Azteca, where he was scheduled to deliver some $240,000 in cash, Adams approached him, then struck the driver in the back and neck with the sledgehammer.

The driver then turned to see Adams picking up the sledgehammer from off of the sidewalk, presumably to take another swing. At that point, the driver drew his service weapon and fired at least four rounds, striking Adams. Several witnesses reported seeing Adams run away while still wearing the safety vest and carrying the hammer.

Police responded to calls about the incident, arrived on the scene within about five minutes, and found Adams standing outside of a Chevy Astro van parked nearby but running. Adams was still wearing the vest and visibly injured. He eventually told police he had been shot, and was transported to the hospital. The sledgehammer used in the attack and attempted robbery was found inside the van, as was blood from Adams’ injuries.

The driver of the armored car was also taken to the hospital, and although his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, they are considered life-changing.

Doug,

Thank you for the response and reading my email on your podcast. I would have responded sooner but I didn't realize you emailed me back until I listened to your show. For some reason gmail thought it was spam.

I also appreciate what you both said. I was raised in a Christian house by two loving parents who tried their best to keep me on the straight and narrow. I do want to tell you that about 3 years ago I reaffirmed myself to Christ and was baptised as an adult. The religion I grew up in baptised you as an infant and confirmed you as a teenager. I wanted to re accept Christ as an adult and make my own decision to accept him after years of wandering in darkness.

Again thank you and Troy for everything you both do and bring to the podcast.

Sincerely,

Josh

Gentlemen,

I am finally catching up on podcasts after having been on a little bit of a vacation recently.

I heard you read out the email where the person called you guys mister and then your last name.

After listening to you correct him telling them to use your first name it got me laughing about the fact that I call everyone sir or ma'am and when they protest I let them know calmly, gently, but with finality that you will not deprogram 13 years of Alabama living in one visit.

Also when it comes to Jake leaving this week in guns, sadly the show is nearly unwatchable now.

I am trying my level best to give them a fair Shake.

And it reminds me that if you gentlemen ever left God and guns podcast I would be devastated.

So for whatever it's worth I love every episode I can get my ears on, I cherish every time you guys take to the microphone to spread the word and I share your show with every person I can.

If at all possible never leave but if you have too, good luck in whatever comes in the future.

I'm sorry I don't get to watch your live show very often.  I would love to be one of the many people that enjoy your show live, but as I think you guys can understand my little girl doesn't want to watch a YouTube video unless it features Elmo so we stick to playing with our books or whatever other non digital toys we have around.

We are a very non screen family, that is to say that the television may be on in the background but my daughter is routinely running around playing with her kitchen or her building blocks or her dolls (Soon we will get her cap gun off the mantle, and put the holster I made to the test).

When we go to restaurants she is typically coloring, we do not except for on very rare occasions allow her to use something with a screen on it.

And to close out this long email which I apologize for you reading through all this, did no-one honestly email you guys about whatever you were giving away?

I listen to your show on a delay so I don't typically email in when you're offering things to the first people that email. But as long as I've reached out to you if you've got anything you want to send my way feel free to.

By the way the God and Guns  stickers I ordered from you guys recently get a lot of attention on the side of my toolbox at work.

Keep up the great work and remember if you're ever near the northwest corner of Indiana look me up if nothing else I've got a bed for you to sleep in if you need it.

Your Brother in Christ.

George Suprenant.

Felon fatally shot while breaking into rural Idaho home

9/11/17| by Jennifer Cruz

Joseph Lloyd was released from jail two weeks before the break-in and subsequent shooting. A man was shot and killed early Friday morning as he attempted to break into a home located outside of the rural town of Downey, Idaho.

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased suspect as Joseph Lloyd, 34. Lloyd is from Pocatello, which is about 40 miles north of where the break-in occurred.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, authorities responded to what was described as a “suspicious incident” just after 4 a.m. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Lloyd had been shot, but no foul play is suspected.

The initial investigation indicates Lloyd, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was shot as he attempted to break into the home, although authorities did not say whether Lloyd was inside the home when the shooting occurred. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed and will determine how many times Lloyd was shot.

The sheriff’s office confirmed there was no further threat to the community and that the break-in and subsequent shooting was an isolated incident. It’s unclear if Lloyd was acquainted with the homeowners or if the break-in was a random crime, but according to the Idaho State Journal, Lloyd has a lengthy criminal history. In fact, he was released from the Bannock County Jail just two weeks ago after having served time for felony drug charges.

No charges are expected to be filed against the homeowner, whose name will not be released. The investigation, thus far, indicates he acted in defense of himself and other family members who were home at the time of the incident, although it’s unclear if Lloyd was armed with a weapon as well. While Idaho is not a “Stand Your Ground” state, state law deems homicide justifiable when it is committed in defense of habitation, property or person against a suspect who endeavors to commit a felony or otherwise offers violence towards any person within the habitation.

Armed Taco Bell workers shoot, kill robbery suspect

Cleveland Police respond to the Taco Bell after a would-be robber was shot and killed by employees  (Fox 8)

Armed employees at a Cleveland Taco Bell shot and killed a would-be robber early Wednesday, police said.

Police responded to the store in the city's Edgewater neighborhood shortly before 3 a.m. and found the suspect suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

A second suspect fled the scene.

Investigators say five Taco Bell employees were in the store when the suspects came in wearing masks and ordered them to get on the ground. Three of the employees opened fire, striking the suspect.

Police said no arrests had been made.

In a statement, Taco Bell said the company was offering counseling to the restaurant workers and was cooperating with the investigation.

When I was younger I hated going to weddings. It seemed that all of my aunts and the grandmotherly types used to come up to me, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, 'You're next.'

They stopped that right after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Their domestic tranquility had long been the talk of the town. A local newspaper reporter was inquiring as to the secret of their long and happy marriage.

"Well, it dates back to our honeymoon," explained the lady. "We visited the Grand Canyon and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon by pack mule. We hadn't gone too far when my husband's mule stumbled. My husband quietly said 'That's once.' We proceeded a little farther when the mule stumbled again. Once more my husband quietly said, 'That's twice.' We hadn't gone a half-mile when the mule stumbled a third time. My husband took a pistol from his pocket and shot him.

I started to protest over his treatment of the mule when he looked at me and quietly said 'That's once.'"

Pistol-packin' mama chases off would-be burglar

By Jodi Weinberger  | The Chronicle-Telegram

Published on Sept. 5, 2017 | Updated 1:44 p. m.

ELYRIA, OH – A mother of three chased a would-be burglar out of her house with a pistol after he broke in just before 8 p.m. Monday.

According to a police report, Brett Santo, 33, of Chestnut Street, walked into Sarah Long’s home on Fourth Street and approached her 15-year-old daughter. Long’s 17-year-old daughter was the first to see Santo and screamed, launching Long into action, police said.

Police said Long grabbed a pistol by her bed and she charged at Santo, but dropped the gun while in her home. She and the 17-year-old then chased Santo out of the house and down the sidewalk until they lost sight of him by St. Mary’s Church.

Officers were dispatched to the area on a report of a burglary suspect fleeing the area and Long was able to provided police with a description.

Police found him on Third Street between Middle Avenue and Court Street and he was arrested and charged with burglary.

During the ride to the police station, officers said Santo “let out an excited utterance that he in fact did burglarize the house,” police said.

Long said Tuesday that Santo had entered her home once before but left when confronted and Long didn’t call police. This time, Long said, Santo approached her daughter so Long sprung into action.

“I said, you picked the wrong (expletive) mother,” Long said, “I ran after him over the bridge and he turned around and was like, is this (woman) still chasing me.”

It was by chance that Long said her gun was near by. Her boyfriend, who Long described as “a big biker guy” had just left the house and encouraged Long to have the pistol ready.

“I’m thanking God it was by a fluke he told me to put that gun by me,” Long said. “Santo was walking in there like he didn’t care, like this time he wasn’t stopping.”

This story has been edited to reflect the following correction: Sarah Long is the mother of three children. Two were at home at the time of the incident.

Robber tries to take woman's purse, flees when 57-year-old shows gun at west Little Rock shopping center

By Robert Riddle

A gun-toting 57-year-old woman fought off a would-be robber who tried to take her purse outside a west Little Rock grocery store, according to police.

Officers with the Little Rock Police Department were called around 5:10 p.m. Friday to a home in the 1200 block of Briar Creek Road.

There, they spoke with the victim, who said that she was approached by a black male while attempting to unlock her vehicle around 4:15 p.m. outside The Fresh Market in the Pleasant Ridge Town Center off Cantrell Road.

The would-be robber reportedly grabbed the woman’s purse while it rested on her shoulder, at which point, the victim brandished a weapon she had stored inside.

According to the report, the assailant then fled west through the parking lot of the grocery store and behind Belk.

No items were listed as stolen from the woman.
The would-be robber was described as standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and wearing a black hoodie. No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Hey Guys,

I have been thinking lately about about things. In our world we speak volumes about guns but very little about bullets. I equate this to going to Lowe's and looking at hammers. You have a 4' section of hammers, but there is 40' of nails. Why does everyone talk about how great the hammer is when it’s the nail that produces the result? Just thought I would throw that out there. Love the show.

Better is open rebuke than love that is concealed. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. – Proverbs 27:5-6

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. – Proverbs 31:8-9

4. STAY HUMBLE: Be vigilant against pride. Get the log out of your eye. Don’t think less of yourself, think of yourself less.

Let the righteous smite me in kindness and reprove me; It is oil upon the head; Do not let my head refuse it, for still my prayer is against their wicked deeds. – Psalm 141:5

You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. Suspect shot in attempted robbery at Midtown apartment
Yolanda Jones USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee Published 12:00 p.m. CT July 11, 2017 | Updated 12:00 p.m. CT July 11, 2017

A 49-year-old man was shot and is in critical condition after police said he attempted to rob a woman outside of her Midtown apartment early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of N. McLean near Poplar, police said.

A woman told police that when she got out of her car at her apartment a man ran toward her, grabbed her and tried to steal her laptop bag.

The woman and man struggled over the bag and she screamed, waking up a neighbor who ran out to help, police said.

The three struggled and fell to the ground. The woman's gun, a Ruger 9mm, fell out of her bag during the fight and that's when police said the suspect was shot during the incident.

It was unclear in the police report who fired the gun during the struggle. A third witness told police she heard the suspect say "I'm going to shoot" and saw the muzzle of the gun flash. The witness reported hearing two shots and called police.

The man accused in the attempted robbery was identified in a police report as Kerry Petty. He was found on the ground with a gunshot wound when police arrived.

Petty has been charged with aggravated assault and criminal attempted felony, police said.

He remains in the Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said the woman and her neighbor were also treated for injuries they sustained during the fight with Petty.

Answered Prayers

After starting a new diet I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery. I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning and as I approached, there in the window were a host of chocolates, donuts, and cheesecakes.

I felt this was no accident, so I prayed … “Lord, it’s up to You. If You want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly in front of the bakery.”

And sure enough, on the eighth time around the block, there it was!  God is so good!

Doug & Troy,

After listing to your "Episode 184 - Summer is here Bass Fishing and Terrorist", it inspired me to go fishing in a lake near me.

After not getting anything on the first try, I went to another lake rented a rowboat - I was the motor, and caught: one Largemouth Bass (11 inches - had to be 12 keep, put him back) two Yellow Perch, one Bluegill (first cast) and 8 Redear Sunfish (all babies). All three were very tasty.

While fishing I was reminded of the fact that GOD put all the wildlife here for us to enjoy watching and if we are so inclined - catching and eating.

It also reminded me that with all of the - political turmoil, attacks by Islamic fundamentalists, and violent crime in the US on the rise, enjoying the great outdoors is GODs gift to all of us.

GOD is also telling us to slow down and enjoy life. I had not fished freshwater since around 1980, ( a lot of saltwater before and after) I was reminded of how peaceful and relaxing freshwater fishing can be.

A day day of sun, some exercise, admiring the scenery, contemplating the Bible and doing battle with a fish - life is good, thank GOD.

Keep doing GODs work

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give a update. In early April, I had a life-threatening case of pneumonia that had me on dual life-support for 2 weeks. This really took a toll on my body (I lost over 30 pounds), especially my lungs, so I had to spend another month or so in inpatient rehab. When I was admitted, I could not breath while sitting upright, and had so much muscle wastage that it took weeks to stand for more than a few seconds. Luckily I am fairly young (early 30s), so my body responded pretty well to rehab. Now I am in outpatient rehab, going 3 times a week for 3 hour sessions. I can walk for short periods of time and can generally move about the house, but am on oxygen and need to catch my breath after the smallest of tasks.

The illness is keeping me from work and from taking proper care of my family (wife and 6 month old daughter), so I am asking you guys to keep me in your prayers for continued healing, Thanks, and am looking forward to catch up on the podcasts.

--Tim

Bible Verse

13 O Lord our God,

other lords besides you have ruled over us,

but your name alone we bring to remembrance.

14 They are dead, they will not live;

they are shades, they will not arise;

to that end you have visited them with destruction

and wiped out all remembrance of them.

15 But you have increased the nation, O Lord,

you have increased the nation; you are glorified;

you have enlarged all the borders of the land.

16 O Lord, in distress they sought you;

they poured out a whispered prayer

when your discipline was upon them.

17 Like a pregnant woman

who writhes and cries out in her pangs

when she is near to giving birth,

so were we because of you, O Lord;

18 we were pregnant, we writhed,

but we have given birth to wind.

We have accomplished no deliverance in the earth,

and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen.

19 Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise.

You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy!

For your dew is a dew of light,

and the earth will give birth to the dead.

20 Come, my people, enter your chambers,

and shut your doors behind you;

hide yourselves for a little while

until the fury has passed by.

21 For behold, the Lord is coming out from his place

to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity,

and the earth will disclose the blood shed on it,

and will no more cover its slain.

Officials: Off-duty officer shoots, kills man caught stabbing a woman
Associated Press Published: July 4, 2017, 4:58 pm  Updated: July 5, 2017, 5:43 am
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says an off-duty police officer has shot and killed a man who was stabbing a woman.
Authorities tell news outlets that Brunswick Officer Aldrid Spaulding III was in the area Monday evening, and someone alerted him to a domestic dispute outside an apartment.
The bureau says David Leon Bell was stabbing the woman when Spaulding arrived and the officer shot him.
Brunswick police said Tuesday that Bell had died at a hospital. The woman was reported in stable condition.
Spaulding is on administrative leave during the bureau’s investigation, which is standard procedure.
Brunswick is about 60 miles north of Jacksonville, Florida

Subject: Christian Self Defense Resources

Troy,

I looked briefly on the website show notes, as well as on Facebook for something you and Doug have spoken of a number of times and I am hoping you can simplify my search by answering a question.

I recently had a discussion with some family members and did a poor job on rebuking the "turn the other cheek, aren't Christians called to be pacifists" statements. I referenced Peter being armed when Christ was taken away, etc but found myself poorly equipped to debate them on the subject and I do not intend to allow that to happen again.

There is a book you guys have spoken about a number of times on the subject of scriptural reference in support of Christians defending themselves and their families. And I figured I needed to read it and study the referenced scriptures so the next time this happens I can better explain my beliefs. Sadly too many of my friends and family do not feel as passionately as I do when it comes to the responsibility to be armed, trained and mentally prepared to defend yourself and your family.

Can you give me the title of that or other resources that might help me be better equipped to answer these kinds of questions?

As always thanks again for the awesome job you and Doug do of providing Godly focused content for the Christian gun owner.

Blessings,

- Chuck

Chettle

The book is by Greg Hopkins Book A time to Kill,  The Myth of Christian Pacifism https://www.amazon.com/Time-Kill-Myth-Christian-Pacifism/dp/0982215150/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496787325&sr=8-1&keywords=a+time+to+kill+the+myth+of+christian+pacifism There are many verses the give Christian’s direction in personal defense, defense of family, community and nation. Greg does an excellent job in laying it out.

Many verses that leftist and non-believers are taken out of context. Specifically “turn the other cheek”, that refers retaliation” "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' 39But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. This is saying if someone wrongs you, you do not retaliate and take vengeance, you let God have vengeance and governments do its job and judge. It also says a slap, not to let them murder, rape or rob you.

The oft used “live by the sword, die by the sword” stating that if you fight the government by taking up arms you will be most likely killed with similar. We deal with attackers by sword (Gun) we are justified to defend ourselves and family.

Hope this helps,

Troy

Weekly Bible Verse
“I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness. The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and all your saints shall bless you! They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. [The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.] The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.”

Lancaster city homeowner shoots intruder after early Sunday morning break-in, police say

CHAD UMBLE | Staff Writer Jun 4, 2017 Updated Jun 5, 2017

A Lancaster resident took “action that he thought was necessary” when he shot a man who kicked in the front door of his home Sunday morning, an official said.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident which occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Marietta Avenue.

"We're working backwards to decide what led to (this) and why," Lt. Bill Hickey said Monday. "There are no charges in the pipelines for the homeowners at this point."

Police said William Louis Stewart, 46, of Lancaster, kicked in the door, prompting a woman who lives there to scream for help from the first floor.

The woman’s husband, who was asleep upstairs, heard the commotion, retrieved a handgun, and confronted the intruder, who was advancing with a piece of wood, police said. The husband shot Stewart once in the chest, after which his wife called 911, according to police.

No one else was in the house at the time of the incident.

Stewart was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that didn’t appear life-threatening.

He was released from the hospital before noon Monday, police said Tuesday.

According to court documents, Stewart was arraigned Monday afternoon on charges of burglary, simple assault and criminal mischief and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The homeowners — whom police did not identify — were interviewed at the police station while the scene was processed for evidence. They told police they didn’t know Stewart and he had no reason to be in their home.

Winters said investigators are still trying to determine why Stewart went to that particular home and what his intentions were. He said the gun used in the shooting was legally-owned.

“The residents were very frightened to find someone forcing their way into their home through their front door and entering their home,” Winters said. “The homeowner took action that he thought was necessary to protect himself, his wife and their home. Fortunately, they were not injured.”

Police ask anyone with information to call Lancaster police at 717-735-3300. Tipsters also may call Lancaster City/County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-1913 or anonymously text LANCS plus your message to 847411 (TIP411).

Mildred, the church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several residents were unappreciative of her activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic, after she saw his pickup truck parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon.
She commented to George and others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.
George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and then just walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing.
Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house . . . . . and left it there all night.

Bank robber, customer shot at each other inside Key Bank branch, Colerain Township police say

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A bank customer and robber fired at each other Monday inside a Key Bank on Springdale Road, according to police.

Colerain Township officers were called to the bank at about 11 a.m. Employees told police the robber, wearing dark clothing and a black hat, came inside and demanded money. Jim Love, Colerain Police Department spokesman, said investigators believe an accomplice waited outside.

At some point, a customer and the robber fired on each other. None of the customers or employees was harmed.

It's unclear if the suspect was injured. Police put in an alert to local hospitals in case he comes in with a gunshot wound. The two men were last seen running off, Love said.

"It would seem maybe they had a getaway plan -- maybe a vehicle somewhere else," he said. "We are not real sure, but it doesn’t look like we can find them right now."

The customer who fired was legally carrying the firearm, Love said.

The FBI is helping with the investigation.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the man in the photo above should contact the Colerain Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Unit at 513-321-COPS.

Our teacher asked us what our favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."
She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right --- everyone else in the class laughed.
My parents told me to always be truthful and honest, and I am. Fried chicken is my favorite animal.
I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA. He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef.
Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office. I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.
The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, just like she'd asked the other children.
So I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken. She sent me back to the principal's office again. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.
I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am. Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most.
I told her, "Colonel Sanders".

Guess where I am now . . .

5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—the Most High, who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 "Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble;I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation."

The Old Preacher

An old preacher was dying. He sent a message for his banker and his lawyer, both church members, to come to his home.

When they arrived, they were ushered up to his bedroom. As they entered the room, the preacher held out his hands and motioned for them to sit on each side of the bed. The preacher grasped their hands, sighed contentedly, smiled, and stared at the ceiling. For a time, no one said anything.

Both the banker and lawyer were touched and flattered that the preacher would ask them to be with him during his final moments. They were also puzzled; the preacher had never given them any indication that he particularly liked either of them. They both remembered his many long, uncomfortable sermons about greed, covetousness, and avaricious behaviour that made them squirm in their seats.

Finally, the banker said, "Preacher, why did you ask us to come?"

The old preacher mustered up his strength and then said weakly, "Jesus died between two thieves, and that's how I want to go."

Hey guys after listening to you guys talk about the biggest loser idea I thought I would share something funny.

I've been dealing with health issues most of my life and in the past few years have been in and out of doctor’s offices on nearly a weekly basis. Normally I remove my EDC firearms before going in to avoid any awkward moments with doctors or nurses, however when going in for chemo followups I chose to leave them knowing there would be no touching or undressing involved. They checked my weight every visit and it became normal for me to carry when going to those appointments.

Then I went to another doctor who had my reports and since I knew they would be poking my abdomen I went without the hardware. The nurse asked me if I knew I had lost weight recently and I said no, not really thinking about it at first. The moral of the story is, eleven pounds was the weight of my EDC firearm and extra mags.

EDC Check: Springfield XDS 3.3 9MM, 8 round mag, 2 spare 9 round mags, IWB Kydex holster and OWB double mag carrier, Kershaw Emerson CQC-3K Tanto blade, Olight S10R Baton.

The moral of the story is if you want your doctor to think you are doing good on weight loss, reduce EDC. I guess it was funnier in my head as most things are.

Love the show and continue to be encouraged by your committment to Christian values. I pray that your blessings continue and look forward to the next podcast. God Bless you both.

- Chuck

Weekly Bible Verses:

What does the bible say about belivers and Foul Language

Ephesians 4:29 ESV

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Matthew 15:11 ESV

It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”

Colossians 4:6 ESV

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Proverbs 15:1-2 ESV

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.

Ephesians 5:4 ESV

Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.

79-year-old man kills home invasion suspect, deputies looking for 2 other suspects
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -- A suspect is dead after Jefferson County authorities say a homeowner shot him during an overnight burglary.
Responding sheriff's deputies found a 79-year-old homeowner sitting on his front porch at a home in the 2400 block of Ormand Drive around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the homeowner woke up when he heard a noise coming from his basement after two suspects entered his home through a window, according to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's office. The suspects went upstairs where one of them told the man, who was still in bed, not to move.
The homeowner then grabbed a gun that he kept by his bed and shot at the suspects. One suspect fled the house as the homeowner chased him. The fleeing suspect shot the homeowner in the leg as he was running across the yard.
He left the scene in a waiting car.
Deputies found the second suspect dead at the scene.
The home
owner was transported to the hospital but suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Little Johnny
After church, Johnny tells his parents he has to go and talk to the minister right away. They agree, and the pastor greets the family.
"Pastor," Johnny says, "I heard you say today that our bodies came from the dust."
"That's right, Johnny, I did," he says.
"And I heard you say that when we die, our bodies go back to dust."
"Yes, I'm glad you were listening," the pastor replies. "Why do you ask?"
"Well you better come over to our house right away and look under my bed, 'cause there's someone either comin' or goin'!"

Listener Feedback
My Grandmother died about fifteen years ago, she was the most god-loving person I have ever known.

She was born around 1905; she went through a lot of tough times – two husbands passing away, a daughter passing away, my father having two bouts with Rheumatic fever, and all the normal problems encountered raising kids in the times before, and during WW2 and for some time after, plus being broke for much of that time.

But God and Jesus was the Foundation of her life, her church and the people in it - her support group.

To me fearing God is for people that need a reason to stay on the path, she had no doubt of God's love for us and the bible was the book she lived by, thus no fear - only love.

When death was close (she knew it and was ready) we went to visit her knowing that it was most likely the last time we would see her alive. We heard her say “Why is God keeping me here?”. Knowing her faith, and to hear her question God - shook me deeply (still gets to me today) I told her “God is not done with you yet, you still have something to do”. I do not think she heard me. After leaving, I came to the realization that the thought and statement were not meant for her, God meant it for me. She died two days later her job for God was done and her faith rewarded.

After she died I got one of her Bibles (The Living Bible), the last one she was reading – she wore the others out. About a third of it is underlined. That bible is vacuum packed to protect it. (I bought 5 copies – one for me, one for each of my 3 nieces, and one for my nephew.)

As I learn and grow as a Christian, her faith and strength are wonder and an inspiration to me

She would be amazed at the technology today, but more amazed that I actually listen to the bible while driving to work everyday.

I listen to your podcast everyday at work (I have restarted from the beginning);  gentlemen you put the bible and the word of god into everyday terms that are easy to understand and have  cleared up a lot of issues that have confused me for a long time after getting the “polluted” gospel that is preached in the liberal Northeast (N.J.).

The gun part is very cool also, I have a bunch of guns (still need more however). Concealed carry in NJ? only a dream

Suggestion, put the parts of the bible that permit self-defense some place on the web site, in addition to the show notes.

8 but it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, Duet 7:8-9 ESV

WPLG in Miami is hoping viewers can help identify a burglar who was caught on surveillance video attempting to break into a home — and then taking off in a hurry after being confronted by a mother of two wielding a shotgun.
A mom is home alone with her 2 kids when an intruder breaks in! But she was armed and ready to protect her family
The woman, who did not want to be identified, was at home with her children, ages 10 and 3.
The burglar quickly realized that he was in serious trouble after making it inside the home.“He was running for his life and kept looking back, making sure I wasn’t going to shoot him in the back,” the woman said.
“What stopped you from killing this guy?” Local 10 News reporter Michael Seiden asked.
“My kids. Not traumatizing them and I did have a baby,” she said.
