On the last FIP, you guys were discussing the Proof Research rifle and I think you missed an important point of why that rifle is relevant. For competition shooters like those in the PRS, barrels need to be replaced approximately annually and sometimes sooner to maintain accuracy. It's not unusual for those shooters to already be running rifles that are several thousand dollars and combining a Remington 700 style action with a Savage style barrel gives that shooter a combination of parts availability and barrel change ease without sending the gun to a gunsmith and waiting for however long their backlog is to get the gun back. The shooter can simply replace the barrel, headspace it, and be ready to go later that day or the next day. It allows them to keep practicing and competing without having to go to a backup gun.

I just thought I'd throw my two cents in there for you to consider next time a topic like that comes up.
