Hello, and welcome to the Reloading Podcast here on the Firearms Radio Network.
Tonight the guys are talking with Brian Nixon from Sharpshooter 22lr reloader.
How are things with the current products
I just started listening to your podcast, and I love it! You all do a nice job keeping us newbies in mind while also covering more advanced topics (which I also enjoy).
If you've already answered this question, feel free to direct me to the appropriate podcast. What is your load development process for rifle cartridges? In other words, what variable do you change first, second, third, etc.?
I just started reloading .308, and my rifle seems to like the 168g. Sierra MatchKing bullets. I'm getting 1" groups, but I want to improve that. Should I start with bullet seating depth? Powder charge? There are so many variables to change, I'm not sure where to begin.
Thanks for your help! Keep up the good work.
Just started reloading .308 and am having trouble. It is once fired Lake City brass, Lee full length die, lubed with One Shot case lube. It is taking a ton of force and don't really want to keep pushing. Case is only about 3/4 of the way in to the die and they are coming out like the 2 on the right, the one on left is before sizing. We have done hundreds of .223 and 22-250 and have had a couple of rounds that were pretty tough because of not enough lube, but nothing like the effort I am putting in to these. We do have some new Lapua that we tried and they were super easy so I am guessing it has something to do with size after fired, but it was taking so much force I did t want to break anything. Any ideas from you geniuses?
