Week in Review:
Drink Segment: I don’t have a name for it. My Nephew who was visiting when I was figuring this drink out called it “Weer’d Beard Lemonade”, which isn’t incorrect, but it isn’t a snappy name.
It is a very accessible cocktail as the one exotic ingredient is pretty easy to find these days.
2oz New Amsterdam Gin
1oz Lemon Juice
0.5 oz Rhubarb Syrup
The Rubarb syrup is very easy, the hard part is finding Rhubarb, but I think you can find it in most grocery stores these days has it, and you don’t need much.
I used about 4oz of fresh rhubarb diced finely in a half-cup of sugar. Then just mix them up and let them sit, and the sugar will leech out most of the water form the rhubarb and you should only need to add a little water to dissolve the rest of the sugar.
