Week in Review:
Ryan: - Went to the range today with the Mad Aussie! Got some awesome beef jerky from the smokehouse he works at! Shot the Remington 870 Police Magnum, Remington 11-87, the MP5SD 9mm.
Handled the Beretta APX and Silencerco Maxim 9.
Weerd: Busy Weekend in Maine, attended my Best Friend’s wedding. No opportunities to go shooting but since I was wearing a tux, I carried my Beretta 21A which Ryan calls my “Tux-Gun”
Drink Segment: Local Gin! It just so happens that in the last week I’ve had two AMAZING gins from here in New England. The first is GrandTen Wireworks Gin, which is actually a barrel-aged gin, meaning it’s probably closer to the more ancient Jenever which is a dutch spirit made with junipers that the English used as the inspiration to London Dry Gin.
GrandTen Distilling is in Boston
The second is called Back River Gin, made by Sweetgrass Winery. This is a more traditional Dry Gin, but it’s a lot more mellow than say Tanqueray or Beefeater. I could go on for hours on the tasting notes of this one, Let’s just say it’s the best gin I’ve ever had, and it’s REALLY reasonably priced. Both will run around $30 for a 750ml, which for small-batch craft gin is quite impressive
