Subject: Budget Revolver for Home Defense
Message: Guys, love the podcast. I need some help deciding on a gun for Home Defense and have made the decision on a revolver but want to stay under $400. New revolvers that I know in that range will only be Taurus 65, 82 or something even cheaper like the Armscor M200. There are a ton of used revolvers I could consider but I just don't know enough about them to pick. I think I would prefer a 3-4" barrel and nothing too light to manage the recoil. What would you guys recommend??
Subject: Show topic
Message: I really enjoyed the show about handgun hunting. It inspired me to pick up an older Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 mag. Now I am looking at bullets to hand load my own hunting rounds, and it brings up a question about selecting an appropriate bullet type. What bullet type for handgun hunting? I know in self defense you want a hollow point that will not over penetrate, but does this hold true for hunting as well. I know solid lead is ok in slow moving rifle calibers, but what about magnum pistol calibers? I think this would be interesting to others switching from rifle to handgun like me.
I also am enjoying the drink segment from WB. The tequila and grapefruit soda drink is much better than margaritas, and one of my new favorites in the summer. Although it still doesn't beat out Buffalo Trace on the rocks.
Keep up the good work on the podcast.
