Week in Review:

Ryan: Had a great first fathers day! My wife and I got to have some dinner & My dad bought a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport II as a Father/Son AR! So now Savage1R can stop hassling me about not owning an AR 15

-Listener Mark sent me a fantastic reloading package of a bunch of .38 Special Cases, 9mm Cases, a reload box & two reloading blocks. Thanks Mark!

Weerd Had the house all to myself this week….and I just took advantage of it and relaxed for once in my life.

But in other news,  I have officially reserved my M17S by K&M Arms.   Honestly I haven’t been this excited about a new gun since I got my Kahr PM45

-Listener Jaun sent me a great email.   First up,  he told me he was drinking a Rob Roy!   (For those who don’t know, it’s a Manhattan made with Scotch rather than rye or bourbon)  and he’s a gunnie in Massachusetts as well.   He wanted to know if I could give more insight on gun laws here in Massachusetts.

I personally think I covered all the basics in the very first show I did here (episode 46 ) but I certainly didn’t cover EVERYTHING,  so I asked him if there was anything in particular he was interested in.  I haven’t heard back,  but if you’d like to hear me do a small segment on Massachusetts law (or maybe Federal law, but maybe I’m overextending myself)  shoot a question to weerdbeard <at> gmail.com

Drink Segment  So tonight I’m experimenting with a drink called The Green park

I’m not sure if it’s my thing,  it’s a very simple drink,  it’s just basil muddled with some sugar, some celery bitters, lemon juice and gin.

It’s very similar to a White Lady, which is a very elegant drink

Which is Lemon, triple sec, gin and….something I left out from the green park as well.   EGG white.

The trick to mixing with eggs is to fill your shaker with all the ingredients, then froth up the egg.  I use a frother,  some people shake without ice, but I’ve never had that work,  you could probably use a fork or an egg beater.

It’s safer than you think, as alcohol and the citrus juice will kill any pathogens in the egg, and I suspect the acid in the juice partially cooks it.

It makes a really nice foam that is really refreshing.

Main Topic: Reloads: Speed Strips, Speed Loaders & Magazines

This week, we decided it would be good to talk about reloads! You have a few different choices in how you manage your reloads while carrying; the speedstrip, speedloader & magazine.

Bianchi Speed Strips

HKS Speedloader

Safariland Speedloader

-Plastic vs Metal?

-Why carry a reload? (NOT BECAUSE YOULL NEED THE AMMO! Many times malfunctions can be traced to a bad magazine!)

-Does leaving it loaded cause the spring to fail?
