Main Topic: Ultimate Concealed Carry Revolver Project

A little while back, Chris and I got talking and we thought about undertaking a project where Chris made what he thought would be the Ultimate Concealed carry revolver. I sent Chris an old S&W Model 60 and he modified it with the things he thought would be most beneficial. There will be a written and video review going up about the mods in just a few weeks, but I thought it would be interesting if we spoke about it on the show as well.

  1. First off, do you notice any drop in people choosing to carry a revolver as a concealed carry firearm today?

  2. In your eyes, what is the best concealed carry firearm, revolver or semi-auto?

  3. When you look at off the shelf concealed carry revolvers, what are some of the biggest problems you see with them?

  4. When you look at some of the modifications done by other gunsmiths or “home gunsmiths” what are some common issues you see?

  5. With this gun, we started with a base gun, S&W Model 60. What are some of the things you do first with the revolver?

  6. What is the process for chopping the hammer? What are some things to avoid?

  7. We had some problems with the grips. What are your recommendations when choosing a grip for a concealed carry revolver?
