Main Topic: Glock Q&A with Zack Jed: I have a Glock 17 and 26. The 26 I use for concealed carry, and the 17 I have for home defense. I've been thinking about getting a laser sight. Can you recommend one that I can swap out and use on both the 26 and 17 and has the best bang for the buck? Thanks guys. Looking forward to more great shows from you.

T.J.: Hey Guys, I just started listening to the show and I'll tell you, it's becoming one of my favorite podcasts. I am listening to them from the beginning, so I apologize if this isn't a recurring segment, but one show I just listened to had a segment about guns you wish Glock made. I think it was July of last year. I would live to see Glock's version of the xDm compact with the compact slide and subcompact frame. Or, a Timberwolf frame of the same design with matching grip sleves. I think that combo is great. It gives you the option of a super concealable gun or more of a combat size handgun. Do you think there is any chance that Lone Wolf will come out with something like this? I would jump on the pre-order in a heartbeat if they offered one. Thanks for the show, I sent you an email the other day asking some questions and had a little to add on. I am hoping this can make it into the same discussion. I was asking about the possibility of LWD coming out with a subcompact grip/compact slide Timberwolf. I got to thinking today that I may be able to get the 19 top end from Lone Wolf and make my own, but had a few questions. I see the dust covers for a 19-17 conversion but not a 26-19 and was wondering if this could be done. The other issue is that I have a gen 4 26 and I do not know if the Lone Wolf slide could even go on it.
Another somewhat off-topic question, would there be any way to have the sloping of the slide be a little more like the XDM?(thick at the frame and thinner at the top).

Zach Brown: Hey guys, love all of your shows they are always very entertaining and I learn something new every show. I have a couple glock questions for Zach. I just got a new gen 3 blue label glock 34. It has the dreaded brass to the face issue. I thought glock had this fixed. It has the 336 ejector. I don't want to start chasing parts but can't stand getting brass in my face. Which extractor should I switch to to cure this problem? Any ideas would be appreciated. Also I don't plan on changing spring weights but will be upgrading to a stainless guide rod. If I am using my stock spring will an upcaptured guide rod be my best bet?

Josh Wood: Okay Jake, the music at the end of the podcast is not an Aaron Copland piece, and not Fivel Goes West lol, so what is it?? My "Shazam" app does not recognize it. Now I'm really curious. Is it just generic computer generated transition music?
Jason Cedar Park, TX: I've recently started listening to your podcast and thought "ah ha! This is exactly what I've been looking for!" I'm just looking for intelligent, pro 2nd amendment folks talking about guns essentially. Both "This Week in Guns" and "AR-15 podcast" have been favorites. I have a few anecdotes to add to your comments from several shows, if you have the time, I'll try and be brief, and I have no corrections or criticisms. :-)
Just regarding building rifles .. First, I want to say that I'm absolutey in love with the AR-15. The modular aspect of it, and the fact that you can pretty much take the entire gun apart in your garage with only a few special tools is awesome. (As opposed to trying to redo AK rivets or find a 20 ton barrel press so you can change out the barrel on an AK.. Not really "modular" at all) I bought my first RRA AR in 2011, but recently started building them. I built my first AR this summer, an XM16E1 clone, complete with Colt engraving on my Nodak Spud upper/lower from Ident Marking, faux auto sear pin (laser etched) and SARCO filed-down selector so I can switch it to full auto, but it still only acts like a sem-auto. Can't go wrong with Vietnam-era M16!
Second was an M16A2 clone AR that followed shortly afterwards, and then during all this panic buying I managed to score 4 more lowers (all at pre-panic prices). So I've sent off a Form 1 for an 8.5inch .300 BLK AR SBR, hopefully I should get that back around June, and will submit my Form 4 for a can shortly thereafter. Listening to you guys talk about .300 BLK really encouraged me to pursue it!
One more comment: regarding children and firearms, I have 3 small children (6, 5 and 2), and I keep my firearms very well locked up in my house, but my two oldest children (6 yr old girl, 5 yr old boy) can each field strip an AR in under 2 minutes... My daughter is best at it, she can strip it all the way down to the bolt extractor in about 45 seconds and then put it back together in about a minute. My son takes a little longer because he loses interest pretty quickly, but he sticks with it.. Like father like son ;-)
Last comment, thought this was funny: My daughter keeps a journal for her 1st grade class, and in one of the entries it said "today, my dad showed me an AK-47 and an MP5 with a silencer". .. Heh, thank god I live in Texas, the teacher was very interested in what I have :-). I could only imagine what a teacher in NY, NJ or CA would say...
P.S. I live in a suburb of Austin, and not all of us down here are liberal hippies :-)
CTSigfan: Hey Jake - just listening to the latest GGR episode & you mentioned the speed safe by Gun Vault- my wife gave me one for Christmas & I just installed it @ the top of my basement steps for a centrally located quick access to a loaded Sig 1911. You are right-the safe is very thin & could be pried off of the wall rather easily. While it may not be the most secure safe-it does allow quick access & keeps kids away...most wont know what it is. I plan to secure the pistol in the real safe when away from the home for any length of time.
DS: Just wanted to follow-up on a prior email I sent in that you guys were kind enough to read on the AR Podcast. I wrote in about the pink camo S&W M&P 15-22 I got for my daughters birthday & mentioned an issue I had w/some aftermarket mags. Having learned many years ago that almost all aftermarket mags are lousy, I hesitantly ordered 2 Plinker Tactical 35 round mags (the S&W 25 round mags are on perpetual back order - I have a bunch ordered but who knows when the will come in) so she would have something more than the single 10 it came with.
Just wanted to clarify that I was a complete jerk for bashing Plinker Tactical before giving them the chance to make it right. They responded to my email w/an apologetic call & promptly sent me out 2 new updated design mags & even threw in a PT shirt for my troubles. While I haven't had the chance to test them yet (I'm not bringing no pink camo AR to the range by myself) I was thoroughly impressed w/the service & embarrassed for having said anything prior to giving them a chance to make it right. Sorry Plinker Tactical, I learned a valuable lesson.
Pete: Hey, how about telling all where and how to file ratings. Is it through itunes and how? Or is it through the website and how?
Joe: See the Remington 597 rifle with double stack mag that is only about 2" long. No feeding issues for me. No reason this mag could not be 4" long and 20 rnd. The only thing I don't know about is whether the mag being in the grip of a pistol needs to be different than the rifle mag for some reason???
Greg: Here are some gun related questions I had that maybe you know the answers to: Can you guys tell me why no foreign ammo companies are jumping in to fill the ammo shortage? I was also wondering why there is no ammo on amazon or Ebay, is this because these companies don't allow ammo? Is there any place to buy ammo directly from an overseas company, or are they also out like everyone in the USA? I was told by a gun store owner that they heard that Hornady's output was already bought up for 2 years out, is this true? What about other ammo Manufacturers. It would be cool if you did a show that talked about the ammo shortage and how long you think it will last.
