Day After Christmas The pastor was looking over the manger scene the day after Christmas when he noticed that the baby Jesus was missing. He went outside and saw a little boy pulling a new red wagon. In the wagon was Jesus.

We walked up to the boy and said, "Hi, there. Where did you get the baby Jesus?"

The boy answered honestly, "In the church."

"Why did you take him?" the pastor asked.

"Well," said the boy, "I prayed to the Lord Jesus and asked him for a wagon for Christmas. I told Him that if He gave me one, I'd take Him for a ride in it."

Pizza Delivery Man fights off robber, WALB, Albany, Ga. 04/07/15


Police say a robbery attempt was stopped when the potential victim pulled out his gun.

The attempted robbery occurred when Gary Royer, a gun owner, was delivering pizza to a residence at Sibbet Avenue in Douglas.

The suspect, identified as Antavious McTear, approached Royer and threatened him with a metal bar.

That's when Royer pulled out his gun and pointed it at McTear, who turned and sped away in his car.

Authorities caught him a short time later and booked him into the Coffee County jail.

Nothing was stolen.

Fishing License

Acouple of rednecks were fishing at their special pond off the beaten track when out of the bushes jumped the Game Warden.

Immediately, one of the boys threw his rod down and started running through the woods, and hot on his heels came the Game Warden.

After about a half mile the young man stopped and stooped over with his hands on his thighs to catch his breath and the Game Warden finally caught up to him.

"Let's see yer fishin' license, Boy!!" the Warden gasped.

With that, the fella pulled out his wallet and gave the Game Warden a valid fishing license.

"Well, son," said the Game Warden, "you must be about as dumb as a box of rocks! You don't have to run from me if you have a valid license!"

"Yes, sir," replied the young feller, "But my friend back there, well, he don't have one ..."

The Pig

This redneck was parked behind a trailer load of pigs near the zoo in Washington, DC. As the truck drove away--one of the pigs fell out. He walked over and picked the pig up and placed it in the front seat of his truck.

He was sitting there looking puzzled when a policeman walked up and asked what was going on. He told the story and the policeman recommended he take the pig to the zoo.

The redneck was sitting in the same spot the next day with the pig sitting up in the front seat. The cop said "didn't I ask you to take this pig to the zoo?"

The redneck replied "I did and he liked it so well--today I'm taking him to the movies!"

Subject: Historical Irony

Hey Troy, Hey Doug

Thought I'd share an interesting learning experience I had on vacation. Since our family loves history we had gone to Colonial Williamsburg where they have costumed interpreters who interact with the visitors and describe life in the 1700's. We saw several interpreters on the village green earnestly discussing some grave matter. I asked one of them what the unrest was about. "Good Sir, our gunpowder has gone missing from the magazine." he replied, "Without it we are defenseless, thus we are going hence to Lord Dunmore's residence to address the issue."

The issue (in 1775) it seems was that the man appointed by the Crown as Governor of Virginia, Lord Dunmore, feared the rise of the local colonial militias as a threat to his control of the citizenry. So he had ordered the Royal Marines to take the colonist's gunpowder, and with it their ability to defend themselves, from the magazine during the night with orders to place it on British warships several hours away.

Joining the group of visitors and interpreters I walked to the Governor's Place at the far end of the green where, standing behind two armed British Soldiers, we found "Lord Dunmore".  He explained that in fact he’d had the powder removed for our own safety as there were rumors of a possible slave rebellion. If need be he could return the powder to us within a half hour, but that would not be necessary since well-trained British troops were there to protect us.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Here was a lying government official, himself being well guarded by armed troops, wishing to curtail the freedom of the citizens to defend themselves. He then, by dealing in misinformation and citing vague rumors, tried to convince us that it was for our own good that he had covertly sent agents of the government to remove our means of self-defense. Furthermore we should now look to that same government for both fair treatment and protection from harm.

Talk about your historical irony. Back then such actions kick started a revolution. Just something to think about.

Resident fights off three home invaders, KRQE, Albuquerque, N.M. 08/20/14

A man was asleep at home in Albuquerque, N.M. when a trio of armed robbers attempted to gain entry to the residence by claiming that they were police. The criminals ultimately broke down the door and got inside the home. The resident responded by retrieving a gun and firing at the home invaders, striking and killing one, and wounding another. The surviving intruders fled the home, but were later captured by police. The surviving home invaders have been charged with the murder of their accomplice. Albuquerque Police Department Public Information Officer Tanner Tixier shared some advice for would be intruders with local media outlet KRQE, stating, “What people need to understand is if you join your buddy to go commit a felony and your buddy dies you can be the one who gets charged with murder.”

Printer Repair When his computer printer began to print out faintly, a man called the repair shop. The clerk said: "From your description of the problem, the printer probably only needs cleaning. The Happy Cat

A cat died and went to heaven. God said: "You've been a good cat all your life - a devoted pet. Is there anything you wish?" The cat replied: "I lived on a farm and always had to sleep on a hard floor so a soft pillow would be great. Then I could sleep peacefully in heaven." God provided a soft pillow for the cat. The following day six mice died and went to heaven. God told them: "You have been good mice all your lives. Is there anything you wish?" "Yes," they said. "We always had to run everywhere, being chased by cats or people. We'd love a pair of roller skates each so that we can get around heaven without having to use our little legs as much." So God provided each mouse with a pair of roller skates. A week later, God thought he'd check up on the cat who was fast asleep on his new pillow. "Is everything OK?" asked God. The cat stretched out. "Perfect," he said. "I've never been happier. The pillow is so comfortable and those meals on wheels you've been sending over are simply the best!"

It's been a while since I have written and I have heard you asking for feedback or listener letters so here you go! My God activities for the week have been reading my Duck Commander devotional (have been reading since Nov '13)  and this week I get to usher at church. Gun activities I found a new local gun shop and was VERY impressed to find that it was a female owner. I also picked up a Taurus pt745 pro fairly cheap. In more personal news my wife and I found out we will be having twin boys in November which will put us up to 3 boys in the house. So I am sure we will be buying BB guns like crazy before too long! I do have something I found out with my wife's pregnancy that is gun related. Our doctor took her off shooting in her 18th week as it can cause hearing damage in the babies. So I just wanted to share that with listeners. Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing the new shows!

Conclusion “The Sabbath asks you a few fundamental questions about your life: What do you trust in? Whether or not you trust God is shown by your obedience to God. If you trust Him, you obey Him knowing that He is responsible to meet your needs. If you don’t, you do your own thing, thinking you are in charge. What do you delight in? Your response to the Sabbath shows you what you are most excited about, whether that is God and the gospel or something else. What do you rest in? If you don’t trust Christ, observing the Sabbath makes no sense. On “the Sabbath,” you are supposed to remember your relationship to God, to delight in it, to rest in it. But if don’t know for sure you are at peace with God, what is there to rest in? What is there to delight in? You need to give up the idea that God is pleased with you because you come to church on Sunday or you keep the Sabbath to try and earn your favor with God. You see, Christianity begins not with anything you do for God, like coming to church, but by receiving, resting in, what God has done for you. Victoria Davison had just parked her vehicle in Milwaukee, Wisc. when a pair of criminals approached and ordered her to hand over her car keys. Then one of the men said, “Go get the cannon,” which prompted Davison to act. Fearing for her life, Davison, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, retrieved a gun and fired at the criminals, striking one of the robbers. Police eventually captured both of the criminals, whom they believe are linked to other crimes in the area. Last Sunday, the pastor of a local church began his sermon with a supposedly true story...

"I was on a plane last week, flying from Chicago to California, when we ran into some very severe turbulence. As it got worse, the passengers became more and more alarmed, and finally even the flight attendants began to look concerned. Finally, one of them noticed that I had "REV." in front of my name on the passenger list came over to me and said, "Sir, this is really frightening. Do you suppose you could ... I don't know ... do something religious?"

"So I took up a collection."


A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said,

"Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

Subject: What Bible are you packing?

Hey guys, I have a suggestion for a show topic. Christians are a lot like discerning gun owners, in the they are very particular about their Bibles. And like gun owners, Christians will almost always have more than one in their possession, for a multitude of purposes or reasons. Maybe there is the family heirloom Bible on the shelf, the highlighted and marked-up Bible in the night stand, a free Bible handed out by a local church or organization, the Bible app on their phone, etc. I personally have three paper copies: my large study Bible that my wife gave me on our wedding day (I'm convinced that it could serve as physical armor as much as spiritual armor), a leather thin-line Bible to take to work and church (EDC), and a compact BoB (Bug-out Bible) that I keep with my emergency supplies. How many Bibles do you own? And like what you put in your firearms, Christians get very opinionated about what is in their Bibles. What's in yours? KJV? NIV? ESV? Of course, most will agree that, like firearms, (almost) any version of the Bible is better than not having one at all.

I'll save my testimony for another time but I thought that would be good enough to start. Keep up the good work and I look forward to listening every week!

Jeremiah 29:13 (ESV)

13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

“A” is Admit. You must admit to God that you are a sinner. You must be sorry for your sins and turn away from sinning.  Verses that support this step are:

  • Romans 3:23
    • for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
  • Romans 6:23
    • For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Acts 3:19
    • Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
  • 1 John 1:9
    • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

“B” is for Believe.  You must believe that Jesus is God’s Son and that God sent Jesus to pay       the penalty for sin. Verses about believing include:

  • John 3:16
    • For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • John 14:6
    • Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
  • Romans 5:8
    • But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

“C” is for Confess. You must confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Read the        following verse:

  • Romans 10:9-10,13
    • 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved…. 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

After you admit to God that you are a sinner, repent and turn from your sin, believe that Jesus is God’s Son sent to die to pay for the sins of the world, and confess your faith in Jesus, you are a Christian and know Jesus as your Savior.

NRA Armed Citizen Store owner fells robber armed with knife, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia, Pa. 06/23/14 Owner Sharon Doyle was working the counter of Stan’s Health Foods in Philadelphia, Pa. when a knife-wielding man entered the store and broke into the cash register. NRA Armed Citizen 22-year-old woman scares off mace-wielding robber, KCCI, Des Moines, Iowa 05/23/14

22-year-old Jessica McDonald, an employee of Discount Textbooks in Fort Dodge, Iowa, had just opened up the store when a man entered and demanded that she hand over the cash in the register. McDonald responded by showing the robber that the register was empty, at which point the man threatened her with mace. Following the threat, McDonald retrieved a handgun from a safe under the counter and pointed it at the criminal, causing him to flee. Store Manager Paul Tigges told a local media outlet that the pistol is kept under the counter for employees to use. In an interview after the incident, McDonald told the media outlet, “It was shocking to me when I started here that there is a gun and I always thought it was over the top and we didn’t need it, but I’m very glad that we have it.”

A mother took her little boy to church.

While in church the little boy said, Mommy, I have to pee.

The mother said to the little boy, it’s not appropriate to say the word pee in church. So, from now on whenever you have to pee just tell me that you have to whisper.

The following Sunday, the little boy went to church with his father and during the service said to his father, Daddy, I have to whisper.

The father looked at him and said, Okay, just whisper in my ear.

A Minnesota couple decided to vacation to Florida during the winter. They planned to stay at the very same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday. His wife would fly down the following day.

The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile.....somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister of many years who was called home to glory following a sudden heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she fainted.

The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife

Subject: I've Arrived

Date: 16 May 2003

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is not as uneventful as mine was.

Troy and Doug,

I really appreciate your method of ministry. The way you explain the Bible verse really gives me a better understanding.  I don't read metaphors well and rarely take anything more than EXACTLY what is written away from my studies. I grew up in the church, but have always felt lost. I have always been a backslider and a poor example of a Christian. I think God has used you (Troy) to convict me, as well as give me comfort. You have touched on several of my personal struggles in your testimonies. It is such a relief/inspiration to hear a good Christian man that has gone through some of the same things I have. I have always called myself a Christian and yet have always felt out of place around other Christians, at church or otherwise. Some of my unspeakable thoughts leave me feeling like its hopeless and I will never be good enough, but your testimonies have helped me see otherwise. Please don't worry so much about going off on a tangent because those times you do are always my favorite parts of the show. I always get a lot out of them. I listen to the old shows over and over while waiting for the next.

Doug you did a great job with the show last week. I spent some time living outside Ft Valley and working in Perry several years ago, so I'm familiar with your neck of the woods.

In closing I too hope I didn't ramble too much, but I wanted to let you know that all of the work you guys are doing through God with the show is impacting/renewing my spiritual walk. Thank you and God bless.

NRA Armed Citizen Billy McCall, 78, was at home when he heard his wife scream. McCall grabbed his .380-cal. handgun and went to his wife’s aid. He found that a man had forced his way into their home and seized his wife in a choke hold. The armed intruder fired at McCall striking him in his stomach. McCall returned fire, causing the intruder to flee. The assailant was later dropped off at a local hospital where he died. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen, leg and chest. McCall is reported to be in stable condition and is expected to survive the gunshot wound he sustained during the home invasion. Mrs. McCall was reportedly uninjured. I've just started listening to your show in the past few weeks and really enjoy it so far. I am a Christian, a Veteran, a firm supporter and defender of our Constitution, and a family man. I am also a gun enthusiast and a carry guy. If I've got my pants on, I've got my gun on.

I really enjoy the hearing your opinions and views on Christianity as well those pertaining to firearms and am so happy to have found this podcast. My kids are excited as well because this is one of the few firearms podcast that I'll let them listen to, mostly because of language, the others tend to be a bit more non-kid friendly when it comes to language. So, thank you for keeping it clean!

I have a question for you when it comes to carrying a gun. I feel that if you carry a gun, open or concealed as a part of your daily routine, then it is your responsibility to also carry a bright white light with you. As we all know (or should know) the four universal gun rules, it is not possible to "know your target" if you are in the dark. This is where your light comes in. Also, that bright light is a great non-lethal weapon. Not every fight is a gun fight and having a non-lethal option is even better.

Maybe you've hit on this subject before, if you have, then I apologize for this really long message! If you haven't, then I'd love to hear a show about it and get your opinions.

Hunting Trip  

A young man from the city went to visit his farmer uncle. For the first few days, the uncle showed him the usual things - chickens, cows, crops, etc. After three days, however, it was obvious that the nephew was getting bored, and the uncle was running out of things to amuse him with.

Finally, the uncle decided to give them a real treat. "Why don't you grab a gun, take my prized hunting dogs, and go have some fun shooting?" This seemed to cheer the nephew up, and with enthusiasm, off he went, dogs in trail.

After a few hours, the nephew returned.

"How did you enjoy that?" asked the uncle.

"It was great!" exclaimed the nephew. "Got any more dogs?"

Holy Dog

An avid duck hunter was in the market for a new bird dog. His search ended when he found a dog that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by his find, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him. He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, the eternal pessimist who refused to be impressed with anything. This, surely, would impress him.

He invited him to hunt with him and his new dog. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. they fired, and a duck fell. The dog responded and jumped into the water. SPOKANE, Wash. -After the third robbery in a month Sunday night, the owner of Spokane's Jitterz Java on Northwest Boulevard has had enough and says the next person to try may end up face to face with a gun.

Sara Chapel says some of her employees are already bringing their own guns to work, no matter what shift they are working. But after Sunday, they were will always be a gun at the coffee stand.

In the most recent burglary, a man aggressively tried to open a window at the stand and appeared to have a gun. The barista kept the window locked, grabbed her gun and called police. The man took off before police arrived.

"It is just a little aggravating, you know, people are just out for themselves these days," said Chapel. "It's just sad to put other people in harms way to just get a few hundred dollars."

Police say the suspect is described as a white man in his 30's, around 5' 10" with a medium build, dark hair and a goatee.
