A redhead, brunette and blonde were on their way to Heaven.

God told them the stairway to Heaven was 1000 steps, and on every 5th step He’d tell them a joke. But, they must not laugh or else they couldn’t enter heaven.

The brunette went first and started laughing on the 65th step, so she could not enter Heaven.

The redhead went next and started laughing on the 320th step, so she could not enter Heaven either.

Then, it was the blonde’s turn. When she got to the 999th step, she started laughing.

“Why are you laughing?” God asked. “I didn’t tell a joke.”

“I know,” the blonde replied. “I just got the first one.”

Cell Phone Gift

Bill bought his beautiful blonde wife, Sherry, a cell phone for their first wedding anniversary.

Sherry loved the gift, and watched intently as Bill explained all the features on the phone.

The next day, as Sherry is having her hair done, her phone rings. It’s Bill. “Hi hon,” he says. “How do you like your new phone?”

“I just love it. It’s so small and your voice is clear as a bell, but there’s one thing I don’t understand. How did you know I was at the beauty parlor ?”.

This Weeks God and Gun activities: Doug: God: Been doing my devotionals. Daily Bible Verse, History Channel had The Bible on this week. Guns: Duck Hunting, Long distance gun buy

Troy: God: Daily Devotional, Church Solo, Youth New Year’s Party, Family Time. Guns: Shooting bows with the Kids

Comedy Corner: Three guys had an accident and went straight to heaven. When they got there, St. Peter said, "We only have one rule in heaven. Don't step on the ducks!"

They entered heaven and sure enough there were ducks all over the place. It was almost impossible not to step on a duck and although they tried their best to avoid them the first guy accidentally stepped on one.

Along came St. Peter with the homeliest woman he ever saw. St. Peter chained them together and said, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this homely woman".

The next day, the second guy stepped accidentally on a duck and along came St. Peter, who didn't miss a thing, and with him was another extremely homely woman. He chained them together with the same admonishment as the first.

The third guy had observed all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to a horrible looking woman was very careful where he stepped. He managed to go for months without stepping on any ducks. Then one day, St. Peter came up to him with the most gorgeous woman he had ever laid eyes on. St. Peter chained them together without saying a word.

The guy remarked, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all eternity?"

She replied, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck"!

From: Daniel Subject: Bartering Message Body: Hey guys. Love the show! Thanks for taking the time out of your lives to produce the podcast.

Had a quick request. You guys are always talking about the guns you've traded or anything in general that you've to traded with people. Could you do a podcast on bartering? I think it's kind of a lost art and I would enjoy hearing some of y'all's tips, tricks and stories about your bartering experiences. I'm not much good at it yet but it sounds like there are some awesome deals to be had. Thanks!

Bible Verses "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:3-8 ESV)

Main Topic Bartering 101

  • Meet at neutral safe well lit place if at all possible, take partner with you if possible.
  • Keep emotion out of it.
  • Don’t drive further than they are willing to, unless too big to bring to you.
  • Ask up front if they are willing to negotiate.
  • Let them name the price and talk as much as possible.
  • Never make an offer unless forced, and then make a dirt cheap offer that will get them talking.
  • Take your time looking over the item. Noting every blemish, scratch, area of concern. Make sure it works, in the case of firearms with permission of owner I clear the gun and check it by dry firing or use of snap caps to make sure they cycle and the hammer goes click.
  • Find out who the decision maker is and only deal with them, if they aren't there then don't go.
  • Have multiple things you are willing to barter with, cash is last for you to put up.
  • Always trade up. Shotguns to rifles, Rifles to handguns. Also brand names up and value up.
  • Be willing to walk away. There is another deal around the corner.
  • Make a fair trade don’t take advantage of people who are not capable of making a good decision, don’t burn bridges you may trade again with them, don’t brag about ripping someone off you’ll get a bad reputation and people won’t refer others to you.

To which the rabbi replied, "At your wedding."

Top Ten Reasons Eve Was Created 10. God was worried that Adam would frequently become lost in the garden because he would not ask for directions. 9. God knew that one day Adam would require someone to locate and hand him the remote. 8. God knew Adam would never go out and buy himself a new fig leaf when his wore out and would therefore need Eve to buy one for him. 7. God knew Adam would never be able to make a doctor, dentist or haircut appointment for himself. 6. God knew Adam would never remember which night to put the garbage on the curb. 5. God knew if the world was to be populated, men would never be able to handle the pain and discomfort of childbearing. 4. As the Keeper of the Garden, since he didn't have metal sheds or greenhouses, Adam would never remember where he left his tools. 3. Apparently, Adam needed someone to blame his troubles on when God caught him hiding in the garden. 2. As the Bible says, "It is not good for man to be alone!" And the #1 reason why God created Eve: 1. When God finished the creation of Adam, He stepped back, scratched His head and said, "I can do better than that!"

From: Chris Konz Subject: Alien Holster

Hey guys my name is Chris I'm from Sanger Texas. I have had my CHL for about a month now and just order a Alien Holster thanks to you Doug and his review of it. I can't wait to get it in the mail and to start using it. I just started listening to your show for a week now and went from the 1st show to the last one. I have to confess that I am not as close to God as I should be but I do believe in him wholeheartedly. I plan on becoming closer to him and letting go completely to him. I wasn't raised with guns but here in the past 6 months they have been one of my expensive passions. I currently have a M&P Shield 9mm, yes I know its not a 45 but like yall say you have to start somewhere. I also have a savage 320 defense shotgun and I am about to buy a Mossburg 500. Just wanted to stop by and tell yall how good yall are doing and how much I love the show. Oh and dont worry Doug I think I am more terrified of snakes than you are. Alright guys cant wait to hear what y'all have to say about a guy from Texas on the show but I will let you know what I think about the Holster after I get it in. Keep it up guys. Hear from ya soon.

From: Brad (Part II) Subject: Sorry for the confusion of my last email!

I apologize for my confusion. Doug, I am very thankful for your faith and insights, even though you are not EJ Owens. I feel really stupid right now. Can you tell I am just getting into all this youtube, and podcast stuff? I did listen to your interview of E.J. Owens, and that is how I found your podcast. So some credit does need to go to E.J. at legallyconcealed.org, for getting you guys a new listener. I don't do facebook, twitter or all that stuff. Have you thought about a regular newsletter via email and/or website with regular articles? You guys have, in my opinion, a very good mix of spiritual and practical insight that is very refreshing! Thank you for all you do!

Weekly Bible Verses

God’s Everlasting Love

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?  Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.  Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?  As it is written,  “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”    No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,  nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 8:31-39 (ESV)

Comedy Corner:

Forest Gump and St. Peter

When Forrest Gump died, he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter said, "Welcome, Forest. We've heard a lot about you." He continued, "Unfortunately, it's getting pretty crowded up here and we find that we now have to give people an entrance examination before we let them in."

"Okay," said Forest. "I hope it's not too hard. I've already been through a test. My momma used to say, 'Life is like a final exam. It's hard.' "

"Yes, Forest, I know. But this test is only three questions. Here they are."

1) Which two days of the week begin with the letter 'T'?"

2) How many seconds are in a year?

3) What is God's first name?

"Well, sir," said Forest, "The first one is easy. Which two days of the week begin with the letter 'T'? Today and Tomorrow."

St. Peter looked surprised and said, "Well, that wasn't the answer I was looking for, but you have a point. I give you credit for that answer."

"The next question," said Forest, "How many seconds are in a year? Twelve."

"Twelve?" said St. Peter, surprised and confused.

"Yes, sir. January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd …"

St. Peter interrupted him. "I see what you mean. I'll have to give you credit for that one, too."

"And the last question," said Forest, "What is God's first name? It's Andy."

"Andy?" said St. Peter, in shock. "How did you come up with 'Andy'?"

"I learned it in church. We used to sing about it." Forest broke into song, "Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me, Andy tells me I am His own."

St. Peter opened the gate to heaven and said, "Run, Forest, Run!"

My Dad's Better Than Your Dad

Three boys on the playground were bragging about their dads. One said. "My dad scribbles a few words, calls it a song and they pay him 50 bucks."

"Oh, yah. My dad scribbles a few words, calls it a poem and they pay him 100 bucks."

"That's nothin'," said the third kid. My dad scribbles a few words, calls it a sermon and it takes six people to collect all the money!"

Weekly Bible Verses

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.    For I have come  to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And  whoever does not take his cross and  follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Matthew 10:34-39

Introduction Bush-craft

THE FIRST FIVE C’S OF SURVIVAL

Never head into the boonies without these first 5 of the 10 C’s of Survival.

(1) Cutting Tool: Ultimately, this means a sturdy, full-tang survival knife—something that should always be on your person in the back-country. A design with a four to five-inch carbon-steel blade and a flattened back edge is typically the most dependable and versatile. Well-made survival knives allow you to do everything from clean fish to split kindling.

(2) Combustion: Being able to spark a fire is critical in a survival situation. In inclement weather, it’s the first order of business—fundamental to maintaining your core temperature. Additionally, a blaze can help you advertise your location to potential rescuers. Carry spark-catching material such as the Pathfinder Mini Inferno tinder or Gorilla Tape alongside a ferro rod and a good lighter.

(3) Cover: A common mistake committed by plenty of outdoor creationists is neglecting to include an emergency shelter in their go-to hiking packs. Even if you’re simply setting out for an afternoon trail hike, you need the ability to quickly erect a precipitation and cold-resistant covering to keep you dry and warm in the event of an unforeseen night out in the backwoods. A poncho, wool blanket, tarp, or even a plastic garbage bag will serve you well.

(4) Container: An ideal container for wilderness use is a 32-oz. stainless-steel water bottle. Staying hydrated is fundamental in an emergency, and you want a durable vessel for storing and carrying water. The high-quality metal additionally allows you to boil water—or melt snow—to render it safe to drink: You don’t want to be dealing with a gastrointestinal malady on top of your other worries.

(5) Cordage: Sure, you can fashion rope from plant materials in the backcountry—but why expend that time and effort if you don’t need to? Carry a good 100 feet of 550 cord, which can assist in a dizzying array of tasks.

THE SECOND FIVE C’S OF SURVIVAL

In the event of contingencies in the wilderness, the remaining five items of the 10 C’s of Survival can be immensely helpful to have on hand.

(6) Candle: It’s all too easy to forget about an illumination source when preparing for a day on the trail. If you’re stranded for whatever reason, the onset of night is a real threat: You can quickly hurt yourself fumbling around in the dark for kindling or water. Having more than one source of light is best—a headlamp is particularly convenient, but bring candles along as well.

(7) Cotton: It’s no weight or space burden to stuff a few cotton cloths or bandannas in your pack—a level of convenience that belies the versatility they display in the backwoods. From bandages to signaling flags, from fire-starters to head coverings, cotton bandannas are deceptively multi-use.

(8) Compass: There are plenty of methods for orienting yourself in the wilderness, from keying into

the wheel of constellations to tracking the sun’s shadow. But bringing along a durable compass with a sighting mirror gives you an unfailing tool for precise navigation—one that readily doubles as a signaling mirror.

(9) Cargo Tape: From injuries to pack malfunctions, a roll of duct tape serves as many functions in the backcountry as it does in the garage.

(10) Canvas Needle: Also called a sail needle, this little tool can be employed to repair clothing or shelters, act as a makeshift compass, dislodge nasty splinters, and for other delicate, high-precision operations.

Remember, the “survival weapons” of the 10 C’s of Survival only work when combined with the knowledge and presence-of-mind to put them to use. If you can stay calm and ward off panic—commonly your greatest threat in the wilds—you can use this basic equipment to keep yourself alive, healthy, even contented, until help arrives.

Three of Silverman’s shot struck the patient which allowed for other hospital employees to detain the killer. Following the incident, Silverman has been hailed as a hero. The child then went to his mother, asked her the same question and she told him, "We were monkeys then we evolved to become like we are now." The child ran back to his father and said, "You lied to me!" His father replied, "No, your mom was talking about her side of the family."

PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) - A home invasion and robbery in Pasco County is exposing some problems in the 911 dispatch system. It happened earlier this week on Gwain Road in Port Richey. A man called 911 after four robbers with guns broke into his home, demanded money and prescription drugs. The dispatcher tried to transfer the call from the fire department to law enforcement side of things – but he got a voicemail just as the crooks returned to the home. Chaos ensues. The man takes matters into his own hands and shoot one of the robbers. He then tells the dispatcher that he's been robbed, and two women in the home were physically hurt. The county released a timeline showing deputies were dispatched more than three and a half minutes after the original call, but they say the transfer problems didn't slow down their response. They also say steps are being taken to make sure it doesn’t happen again, although they didn't clarify what those steps are. As for the robbers, three of them have been caught, including the guy who was shot by the homeowner. This Weeks  God and Gun activities:

Doug - Did my daily devotionals. Currently using the Piper devotional for my iPhone. I was able to get a little 22 ammo today. 100 rounds.

Troy: God: Teaching Sunday School, Preparing for Bible School, Daily Devotional Made the Foundations (System Theology) by R.C. Sproul my Devotional because my time is limited by other activities. So I am doing 15-20 minutes a day on the book and workbook and then prayer. Guns: We hosted Gun Guy Radio Last Saturday, Just EDC, SIRT Training Pistol Dry fire at home and Office, clearing rooms, Training Cards and fast target acquisition. Cleaned “Puff” after some range time.

Comedy Corner:

Last Sunday, the pastor of a local church began his sermon with a supposedly true story...

"I was on a plane last week, flying from Chicago to California, when we ran into some very severe turbulence. As it got worse, the passengers became more and more alarmed, and finally even the flight attendants began to look concerned. Finally, one of them noticed that I had "REV." in front of my name on the passenger list came over to me and said, "Sir, this is really frightening. Do you suppose you could ... I don't know ... do something religious?"

"So I took up a collection."

A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said,

"Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

Subject: What Bible are you packing?

Message Body:

Hey guys, I have a suggestion for a show topic. Christians are a lot like discerning gun owners, in the they are very particular about their Bibles. And like gun owners, Christians will almost always have more than one in their possession, for a multitude of purposes or reasons. Maybe there is the family heirloom Bible on the shelf, the highlighted and marked-up Bible in the night stand, a free Bible handed out by a local church or organization, the Bible app on their phone, etc. I personally have three paper copies: my large study Bible that my wife gave me on our wedding day (I'm convinced that it could serve as physical armor as much as spiritual armor), a leather thin-line Bible to take to work and church (EDC), and a compact BoB (Bug-out Bible) that I keep with my emergency supplies. How many Bibles do you own? And like what you put in your firearms, Christians get very opinionated about what is in their Bibles. What's in yours? KJV? NIV? ESV? Of course, most will agree that, like firearms, (almost) any version of the Bible is better than not having one at all.

I'll save my testimony for another time but I thought that would be good enough to start. Keep up the good work and I look forward to listening every week!

God bless,

Sergio

Weekly Bible Verses

Gospel Message

Jeremiah 29:13 (ESV)

13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

“A” is Admit. You must admit to God that you are a sinner. You must be sorry for your sins and turn away from sinning.  Verses that support this step are:

  • Romans 3:23
    • for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
  • Romans 6:23
    • For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Acts 3:19
    • Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
  • 1 John 1:9
    • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

“B” is for Believe.  You must believe that Jesus is God’s Son and that God sent Jesus to pay       the penalty for sin. Verses about believing include:

  • John 3:16
    • For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • John 14:6
    • Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
  • Romans 5:8
    • But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

“C” is for Confess. You must confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Read the        following verse:

  • Romans 10:9-10,13
    • 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved…. 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

After you admit to God that you are a sinner, repent and turn from your sin, believe that Jesus is God’s Son sent to die to pay for the sins of the world, and confess your faith in Jesus, you are a Christian and know Jesus as your Savior.

Independence Day

  2. Meaning
  3. Significance

"The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever." ~ John Adams --Adams wrote this in a letter to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776.

"While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian." ~ George Washington --The Writings of Washington, pp. 342-343.

"Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God ... What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be." ~ John Adams --Diary and Autobiography of John Adams, Vol. III, p. 9.

"Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual. ... Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us." ~John Hancock (1st Signer of the Declaration of Independence) --History of the United States of America, Vol. II, p. 229.

"The hope of a Christian is inseparable from his faith. Whoever believes in the divine inspiration of the Holy Scriptures must hope that the religion of Jesus shall prevail throughout the earth. Never since the foundation of the world have the prospects of mankind been more encouraging to that hope than they appear to be at the present time. And may the associated distribution of the Bible proceed and prosper till the Lord shall have made 'bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God' (Isaiah 52:10)." ~ John Quincy Adams (6th U.S. President) --Life of John Quincy Adams, p. 248.

Legally Dead: The Journal of the Massachusetts Bar recorded this exchange between an anonymous attorney and a pathologist in a recent murder trial: "Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?" "No." "Did you check for breathing?" "No." "So then, is it possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?" "No." "How can you be so sure?" "Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar." Even then, this would-be Perry Mason refused to throw in the towel: "Is it possible the patient could be alive, nevertheless?" "It is possible that he could have been alive," said the pathologist, "and practicing the law somewhere."

Weekly Bible Verses

Ephesians 4:11-13 (ESV) And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,  to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,  until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Luke 9: 46-48 (ESV) An argument arose among them as to which of them was the greatest. But Jesus, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a child and put him by his side  and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and  whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For he who is least among you all is the one who is great.”

    1. Pray Isaiah 63: 15-19 “Look down from heaven and see,  from your holy and beautiful habitation. Where are your zeal and your might? The stirring of your inner parts and your compassion are held back from me.    For you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, O  Lord , are our Father,  our Redeemer from of old is your name. O  Lord , why do you make us wander from your ways and harden our heart, so that we fear you not?  Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your heritage. Your holy people held possession for a little while;  our adversaries have trampled down your sanctuary. We have become like those over whom you have never ruled, like those who are not called by your name.”
    2. Encourage others - Hebrews 10:23-25 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,  not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
    3. Educate others - And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42
    4. Invite others He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors,  lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid  at  the resurrection of the just.” Luke 14:13-14
    5. Get involved “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Rev 3:15-16

22-year-old Jessica McDonald, an employee of Discount Textbooks in Fort Dodge, Iowa, had just opened up the store when a man entered and demanded that she hand over the cash in the register. McDonald responded by showing the robber that the register was empty, at which point the man threatened her with mace. Tough Call

Four friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters returned alone, staggering under the weight of an ten-point buck.

"Where's Billy Bob?"

"Billy Bob had a stroke of some kind. He's a couple of miles back up the trail."

"You left Billy Bob laying out there and carried the deer back?"

"A tough call," nodded the hunter "but I figured no one, in their right mind, is going to steal Billy Bob."

A fella was tending to his cattle one morning when out of a cedar grove another man came carrying a turkey over his shoulder.

"Sure is a nice bird. Where did you get him?" asked the farmer.

"Back up in that cedar grove," replied the hunter.

"I've been here all morning and I didn't hear the shot, how did you get him?" the farmer inquired.

"Well, I'm sooooo ugly, I just kinda hunker down amongst the bushes and when he gets in real close, I jump out a screamin' and making such a face that it "uglies" them to death. I used to take my wife along, but she tore 'em up too bad".

Weekly Bible Verse John 13: 1-20 (ESV)

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,  Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,  rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist.  Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.  He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”  Jesus answered him,  “What I am doing  you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.” Peter said to him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him,  “If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.” Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”  Jesus said to him, “The one who has bathed does not need to wash,  except for his feet, but is completely clean. And  you are clean,  but not every one of you.” For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said,  “Not all of you are clean.” When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them,  “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example,  that you also should do just as I have done to you. Truly, truly, I say to you,  a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. I am not speaking of all of you; I know  whom I have chosen. But  the Scripture will be fulfilled, ‘He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.’I am telling you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”

Comedy Corner:

Getting into Heaven Recently a teacher, a garbage collector, and a lawyer wound up together at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter informed them that in order to get into Heaven, they would each have to answer one question.

St. Peter addressed the teacher and asked, "What was the name of the ship that crashed into the iceberg? They just made a movie about it."The teacher answered quickly, "That would be the Titanic." St. Peter let him through the gate.

St. Peter turned to the garbage man and, figuring Heaven didn't *really* need all the odors that this guy would bring with him, decided to make the question a little harder: "How many people died on the ship?"Fortunately for him, the trash man had just seen the movie. "1,228," he answered."That's right! You may enter."

St. Peter turned to the lawyer. "Name them."

Of course we know there is only one question and answer at the judgement.

A Christian Puppy

A Baptist couple decide that they want to get a dog. As they are walking down the street in town, they notice that a sign in the pet shop is advertising "Christian Puppies." Their interest piqued, they go inside.

"How do you know they're Christian puppies?"

"Watch," says the owner, as he takes one of the dogs and says, "Fetch the Bible." The dog runs over to the desk, and grabs the Bible in its mouth and returns. Putting the Bible on the floor, the owner says, "Find Psalm 23." The dog flips pages with its paw until he reaches the right page, and then stops. Amazed and delighted, the couple purchase the dog and head home.

That evening, they invite some friends over and show them the dog, having him run through his Psalm 23 routine. Impressed, one of the visitors asks "Does he also know 'regular' commands?"

"Gee, we don't know. We didn't ask," replies the husband.

Turning to the dog, he says, "Sit." The dog sits. He says, "Lie down." The dog lies down. He says "Roll over." The dog rolls over.

He says "Heel." The dog runs over to him, jumps up on the sofa, puts both paws on the owner's forehead and bows his head.

"Oh look!" the wife exclaims. "He's PENTECOSTAL!"

Troy and Doug,

I started listening to your podcast last week.  I downloaded a few of the old episode first.  When I listened to them, I enjoyed them very much.  The mixture of Bible verses, gun and gear information, and Chuck Norris jokes was great.  I was glad to hear your personal testimony which were very refreshing. You make a great addition to my regular list of weekly podcasts.

I wanted to add something to the holster discussion.  You did not mention Concealment Solutions holsters.  I carry a 9mm M&P Shield with a Black Mamba holster from Concealment Solutions.  It is very comfortable, even when worn for long periods.  I highly recommend it. Weekly Bible Verse Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.  Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.  Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.  Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back,  let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. James 5:13-20 (ESV)

Listener Feedback: Hey Troy & Doug, Just want to start off by saying you'll be glad to know you've picked up a fellow Kentuckian who listens to the podcast. I'm way across the state in southeastern KY.  I love the show. I listen to it often at work and it's always nice to hear from other Christians who own guns (being a Christian gun owner myself). Great show! Keep up the good work! Sincerely, Matt Barnhill

Just listened to ep 52 and heard you talking about older shows. I wanted to listen to the "prepper" and "Church Carry" shows, but they aren't available on iTunes. Are they going to be reposted in the future? Peter Wiktorski

 Weekly Bible Verse

The Parable of the Persistent Widow 1 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. 2 He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. 3 And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ 4 For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” 6 And the Lord said,“Hear what the unrighteous judge says. 7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

NRA Armed Citizen Grandmother fights off shotgun-wielding robber, The Shreveport Times, Shreveport, La. 01/06/14 63-year-old Elzie Pipkins was at home in Shreveport, La. when an intruder armed with a shotgun forced his way inside the house. Once inside, the intruder ordered Pipkins’ granddaughter to fill a bag with valuables, while Pipkins begged the criminal to leave with the money in her purse. Pipkins eventually led the intruder to a safe where she keeps some change and a handgun. Pipkins opened the safe and offered the change to the intruder, at which point the criminal took a hand off his shotgun, giving Pipkins an opportunity to retrieve the pistol from the safe and fire it at the robber. The home invader was struck once in the chest and fled before collapsing a block away from Pipkins’ home. Following the shooting, Pipkins made clear she did not relish shooting the criminal, stating to a local news outlet, “Just $55 in coins, and he lost his life, Lord Jesus I wish the young people today would just think, go to school, get an education and a good job and buy what you want... Don’t try to take from someone who has worked all their life and still doesn’t have nothing to give.”

Comedy Corner: In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear conflicts, the Montana Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.

"We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear poop. Black bear poop is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear poop has little bells in it and smells like pepper. "

Listener Email: Troy, Thanks for clearing up my email from last week and giving some feedback. Its good to hear other Christian's thoughts on topics we don't always agree on. I just came from church and started listening to your last show talking about Simon Peter. That is the same person our preacher talked about here in Belgium. He talked about Peter as an example of a real person we can all relate too. Simon displayed signs of faith and faltered at the same time. He was the only disciple to try and walk on water, he told Jesus he would never leave him at the last supper (he would), never deny him (he did X3), after Jesus's death he jumped out of the boat and swam to shore when he saw Jesus and talked with him while the other disciples rowed, and he was even told to basically shut up and listen to Jesus by God on the mountain with the 2 other disciples. Simon Peter's life showed great faith and how human every man is when we do not have faith, listen, or follow God's plan for us. Warner Paredes

Weekly Bible Verse Ephesians 6:18-20 (ESV) 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. Comedy Corner:

  • A couple of Illinois’ hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps to the operator: 'My friend is dead! What can I do?' The operator, in a calm soothing voice says: 'Just take it easy. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead.' There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says: 'OK, now what?'

  • A  man and a friend are fishing one day at pond near the road. One of the guys is about to cast his lure when he sees a long funeral procession on the road next to the pond. He stops in mid-cast, takes off his cap, closes his eyes, and bows down in prayer. His friend says, "Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man."  The man then replies, "Yeah, well we were married for 35 years."

  • Two men went bear hunting. While one stayed in the cabin, the other went out looking for a bear. He soon found a huge bear, shot at it but only wounded it. The enraged bear charged toward him, he dropped his rifle and started running for the cabin as fast as he could. He ran pretty fast but the bear was just a little faster and gained on him with every step. Just as he reached the open cabin door, he tripped and fell flat. Too close behind to stop, the bear tripped over him and went rolling into the cabin. The man jumped up, closed the cabin door and yelled to his friend inside, "You skin this one while I go and get another one!"

Weekly Bible Verse:

By Faith; Hebrews 11: 1-13 (ESV) 1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. 4 By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. 5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. 7 By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. 8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. 11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore. 13 These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.

Points:

Gospel: By Faith we put our hope in Christ alone. By faith not works. Examples given of faith in the text are: Abel, gift was accepted, Cain’s was not. Enoch, faith was such God brought him to heaven without tasting death. Noah, to build an Ark when it had never rained before, and kept that faith for an estimated 55 to 75 years while he built the Ark. Abraham, to go and claim his land. Sarah, to believe she would have a child. Is your faith active and real: or cultural, familial, traditional. Encourage them to think about it!

Slowly, the preacher inverted the hat and shook it meaningfully. Then, raising his eyes heavenward, he exclaimed, "I thank you, Lord, that I got my hat back from this congregation."

  1. The Sunday School Teacher asks, “Now, Johnny, tell me frankly do you say prayers before eating?” “No sir,” little Johnny replies, I don’t have to. My mom is a good cook.”

  1. After church one Sunday morning, a mother commented, "The choir was awful this morning." The father commented, "The sermon was too long." Their 7-year-old daughter added, "You've got to admit it was a pretty good show for a dollar."

“G’day Troy, Listening all the way over here in Australia and just wanted to thank you for the great job you are doing with the podcast. I think Doug is a great addition to the podcast as a co-host and I am looking forward to any future podcasts you do together. As a relatively new Christian I have found this podcast especially helpful, it is great to gain a Christian perspective on firearms ownership among other important aspects of life. Unfortunately due to financial constraints I will not be able to gain a hold of any firearms here soon, however one day I hope to enjoy the freedoms that you have in America by becoming an American citizen. Thanks again for the great work you are doing and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.”

Shawn Merrill says

Enjoy The Weekly Podcasts. I've truly enjoyed listening to the podcasts recently with Troy and my good buddy Doug. The stories and experiences you both share are interesting and the passages from the Bible you share each week are uplifting as well as a blessing! Keep up the great job and God bless!

Shawn (Warner Robins, GA)

Weekly Bible Verse:

Hebrews 12: 11-17 (ESV)

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled; that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal. For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with tears.

Weekly Bible Verse: Act 5:25-32 (ESV) 25 And someone came and told them, “Look! The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.” 26 Then the captain with the officers went and brought them, but not by force, for they were afraid of being stoned by the people. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, 28 saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. 30The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

Dirty Harry Smith & Wesson Model 29 *Info below provided by Wikipedia

The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is a six-shot, double-action revolver chambered for the .44 Magnum cartridge and manufactured by the U.S. company Smith & Wesson. It was made famous by — and is still most often associated with — the fictional character "Dirty Harry" Callahan from the Dirty Harry series of films starring Clint Eastwood.

The Model 29 was offered with 3", 4", 5", 6", 6½", 8⅜" and, later, 10⅝" barrel lengths as standard models. Other barrel lengths were available either by special order from Smith & Wesson's Custom Shop or custom built by gunsmiths. The 5" barreled variant had a full length under-lug. Finish options available included a highly polished blued or nickel-plated surface.

Harry Callahan: I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking "did he fire six shots or only five?" Now to tell you the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

Completing last weeks top 10 things you don’t hear in church:

6.  I love it when we sing hymns I've never heard before! 7.  Since we're all here, let's start the worship service early! 8.  Pastor, we'd like to send you to this Bible seminar in the Bahamas. 9.  Nothing inspires me and strengthens my commitment like our annual stewardship campaign! 10. Forget the denominational minimum salary: let's pay our pastor so he can live like we do.

Weekly Bible Verse:

You Must Be Ready - Luke 12: 35-40

35 “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Things you’ll never hear in church:

  1. Hey! It's MY turn to sit on the front pew!
  2. I was so enthralled, I never noticed your sermon went over time 25 minutes.
  3. Personally, I find witnessing much more enjoyable than golf.
  4. I've decided to give our church the $500.00 a month I used to send to TV evangelists.
  5. I volunteer to be the permanent teacher for the Junior High Sunday School class.

Jake says; You're are really showing improvement. The last interview (James Wesley Rawles) was the best yet. Thank you so much for fixing your sound quality :)  I thought your commentary before and after the interview was also very good. Thank You for putting so much heart and soul into the show. You're doing awesome Troy, keep up the good work!

Jim Says; Troy, I just wanted to say thanks for all you do with the God and Guns Podcast. I have been struggling lately with how much to prep. I agree we all need to be prepared and take care of our families and even be there for friends and neighbors in time of need, but how much is too much. A bunker in the back yard with 5 years of supplies I think is too much. Maybe even a slap in God's face who provides for us. So where do you draw the line, biblically? I appreciate all the discussion please keep it up.

Weekly Bible Verse:

Luke 12:16-21 ESV

16 And he (Jesus) told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully,17 and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ 18 And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

Dwayne says: Hey Troy you're doing a good job, keep it up Bro.

Joe says: (Shared an article that I may find interesting.) Doing great Troy looking forward to each show. May the Lord give you wisdom and strength each week.

Justin wrote: “Troy, thanks for the podcast this week brother. I'm 29 years old and was only saved about 4 years ago. Hearing you talk about your drift from God during parts of your life and going back to ask forgiveness of those people that were harmed hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't cause all kinds of trouble during my atheistic start to life, but there are a few people who deserve an apology. You've inspired me to find them this week. I can tell, that a part of you is not sure if just you rambling can be a successful show, but your trust is truly in the almighty God and it shows. I bet you reach more than just little old me with your monologues. Please keep shows such as this up! Feel free to share on the air.”

My reply Transition to Bible Verse

Weekly Bible Verse:

Philippians 3:12-14   “12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Don’t let your mistakes of your past hold you back, once you’ve asked forgiveness of God and tried making things right with those you’ve wronged, whether they forgive you or not you put your focus on God’s leading and follow in faith.
