Weekly Bible Verses:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. Luke 17:6-11 (ESV)

Main topicFacebook Stopping Private Gun Sales Pages

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/30/technology/facebook-gun-sales-ban.html?_r=0Facebook is banning private sales of guns on its flagship social network and its Instagram photo-sharing service, a move meant to clamp down on unlicensed gun transactions.

Facebook already prohibits people from offering marijuana, pharmaceuticals and illegal drugs for sale, and the company said on Friday that it was updating its policy to include guns. The ban applies to private, person-to-person sales of guns. Licensed gun dealers and gun clubs can still maintain Facebook pages and post on Instagram.

Although Facebook was not directly involved in gun sales, it has served as a forum for gun sales to be negotiated, without people having to undergo background checks. The social network, with 1.6 billion monthly visitors, had become one of the world’s largest marketplaces for guns and was increasingly evolving into an e-commerce site where it could facilitate transactions of goods. The ban thrusts Facebook into the center of another major societal debate. Discussions over gun control have flared anew after the mass shootings last year in San Bernardino, Calif., and a community college in Oregon, among others. In January, President Obama gave a speech promising to tighten enforcement of laws governing unlicensed gun sales. In response, some individual sellers said they would turn to sites like Facebook, which allowed them to freely advertise guns for sale.

NRA Armed CitizenArmed Marine veteran saves deputy, Austin American-Statesman, Austin, Texas, 01/28/16On January 19, Bastrop County, Texas Deputy Dylan Morris attempted to pull over a vehicle due to the driver’s erratic behavior. The driver did not initially comply, but eventually stopped at a gas station. Once the vehicle was stopped, Dorris attempted to arrest the driver, however, the driver resisted. While Dorris was struggling with the driver, the man reached for the deputy’s weapon. Thankfully, Marine veteran, and Right-to-Carry permit holder, Scott Perkins came upon the struggle and immediately intervened. Perkins drew a gun and ordered the driver to “freeze,” which halted the attack and prompted the criminal to flee. Following the incident, Dorris said of Perkins to the Austin American-Statesman, “I’m alive today because of him,” adding, “There are no words to explain it. He’s such an outstanding citizen. He’s here for our country, our community and you really feel the love.” Despite his heroics, Perkins remained modest, telling the paper, “Anytime somebody is in need of help you should assist them. It doesn’t matter whether your life's in danger or not, you should always assist anybody who is in need.” (Austin American-Statesman, Austin, Texas, 01/28/16)http://www.statesman.com/news/news/local/officials-gun-toting-veteran-saves-life-of-bastrop/nqD7c/

“What would you like for Christmas, Billy?” asked Santa.

“An X-Box and a Hobbit game,” Billy said.

“Okay, we’ll see what we can do about that,” said Santa with a big smile.

Later on that day they also went to see Santa at the Sears mall. When Santa asked Billy what he wanted for Christmas, Billy said, “An X-Box and a Hobbit game.”

“Will you be a good boy and do what your daddy tells you?” Santa asked.

Billy turned to his dad and said, “Let’s go back to the other Santa, Dad.”

“Why Billy?” asked his father.

“Because I didn’t have to make any deals with that one.”

A church's bell ringer passed away. The church posted the job opening in the local newspaper's classified ads and a man came in with no arms wanting the job. The clergy weren't sure he could do it, but he convinced them to let him try it. They climbed the bell tower and the guy ran toward the bell and hit it with his head, producing a beautiful melody. They gave him the job on the spot. The next day he went to ring the bell, tripped, bounced off the bell and fell to the sidewalk below. Two priests were walking past. One asked, "Do you know this guy?" The other responded, "No, but his face rings a bell."

The next day, the dead man's twin brother came in for the again vacant bell ringer position. He also had no arms. The clergy led him up to the bell tower, where he ran at the bell, tripped and fell to the sidewalk below. The same two priests walked up. The first asked, "Do you know him?" The second responded, "No, but he's a dead ringer for his brother."

Thomas M. Buckley Hi Troy & Doug. Doug I've got a holster I will gift to you - if you  want it. I had ordered a VP9 (Troy, you may remember my past email below. We have emailed several times, but I don't think I've ever corresponded with Doug), but before it came in I ran into a mint used flat dark earth Glock 19 with night sights & picked it up for a steal - so I am out of the VP9 business for now. I had already purchased a used (but never actually used) high quality Stealth Gear AIWB for the VP9 from a buddy, obviously I don't need it now. Instead of selling it I'd rather support you guys as y'all work every week to provide us with great God-centered gun related content that I find value in. Doug, just send me your address and I will ship it to you. Photo is attached to this email.

God bless! Tom

Bible Verse

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:13-16 (ESV)

NRA Armed Citizen Senior Citizen Uses Gun to Turn Tables During Home Invasion

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - A senior citizen turned the tables during a home invasion. The elderly man woke up during a nap about 10 a.m. Tuesday to find a burglar ransacking his house. When Robert Hamm got up to investigate what was causing a loud noise, he saw a man going through the drawers in one of his bedrooms. "I saw the man with his arms loaded up with my tools," Hamm said. The burglar, who'd climbed in through the bedroom window, apparently didn't know or care that the 75-year-old was home. Hamm, who keeps his gun handy, wasn't about to let the crook escape with his stuff. "I just pointed the gun at him and told him I'd blow him in two if he moved," Hamm said, "and I made him lay down here in the middle of the floor." Hamm called 911 and held him at gunpoint until police showed up at his home along Blue Hall Road in Olive Hill. "I wanted to shoot him really bad," Hamm said. "I really wanted to shoot him." Hamm says he's known the suspect, Larry Lee Thompson, since he was born, and that he has a reputation for this sort of thing. The suspect's sister, Loretta Boggs, lives up the road. She was devastated her brother forced her neighbor to this extreme. "It hurts me deeply," Boggs said. "It hurts the whole family. We love him, but what can we do?" She says he's been living recently in Richmond, Kentucky. Thompson was taken into custody by the Carter County Sheriff's Department.

Troy: God: Daily Devotional, Church Solo, Youth New Year’s Party, Family Time. Guns: Shooting bows with the Kids

Comedy Corner: Three guys had an accident and went straight to heaven. When they got there, St. Peter said, "We only have one rule in heaven. Don't step on the ducks!"

They entered heaven and sure enough there were ducks all over the place. It was almost impossible not to step on a duck and although they tried their best to avoid them the first guy accidentally stepped on one.

Along came St. Peter with the homeliest woman he ever saw. St. Peter chained them together and said, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this homely woman".

The next day, the second guy stepped accidentally on a duck and along came St. Peter, who didn't miss a thing, and with him was another extremely homely woman. He chained them together with the same admonishment as the first.

The third guy had observed all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to a horrible looking woman was very careful where he stepped. He managed to go for months without stepping on any ducks. Then one day, St. Peter came up to him with the most gorgeous woman he had ever laid eyes on. St. Peter chained them together without saying a word.

The guy remarked, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all eternity?"

She replied, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck"!

Had a quick request. You guys are always talking about the guns you've traded or anything in general that you've to traded with people. Could you do a podcast on bartering? I think it's kind of a lost art and I would enjoy hearing some of y'all's tips, tricks and stories about your bartering experiences. I'm not much good at it yet but it sounds like there are some awesome deals to be had. Thanks!

Bible Verses "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:3-8 ESV)

  • Keep emotion out of it.
  • Don’t drive further than they are willing to, unless too big to bring to you.
  • Ask up front if they are willing to negotiate.
  • Let them name the price and talk as much as possible.
  • Never make an offer unless forced, and then make a dirt cheap offer that will get them talking.
  • Take your time looking over the item. Noting every blemish, scratch, area of concern. Make sure it works, in the case of firearms with permission of owner I clear the gun and check it by dry firing or use of snap caps to make sure they cycle and the hammer goes click.
  • Find out who the decision maker is and only deal with them, if they aren't there then don't go.
  • Have multiple things you are willing to barter with, cash is last for you to put up.
  • Always trade up. Shotguns to rifles, Rifles to handguns. Also brand names up and value up.
  • Be willing to walk away. There is another deal around the corner.
  • Make a fair trade don’t take advantage of people who are not capable of making a good decision, don’t burn bridges you may trade again with them, don’t brag about ripping someone off you’ll get a bad reputation and people won’t refer others to you.

From: Brad Subject: Thankful I found your podcast!!! Troy & Doug, I found your podcast last week and have been listening to about 2 broadcasts a day while at work. I'm a fellow believer in Christ and an outdoor enthusiast! I found your site because I started following Doug on his YouTube site and webpage (legallyconcealed.org). I knew there was something different about you Doug from the start, and after I got your "Counter Violence" book and read the dedication page, I said out loud..."I thought so!" It said, "dedicated to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!"

I very much appreciate both of your real life stories and real life faith.

Would love to hear your thoughts on gun registration, and would you recommend purchasing anything you have to register? I am a law abiding citizen, and live in a state that is restrictive and do not want to have anything that is registered, because let's face it, the first people the Nazi's put in jail were Pastors and all registered gun owners.

From: Ryan Subject: Tithing Hello, Just came across your show and I was very excited about it so I downloaded a few of the 1st episodes. After listening to a few I have heard some things that seem very concerning to me. Overall you guys seem to be a lot more zealous and knowledgeable about secular things (movies, sports etc...) than biblical things even though you both say you have grown up in Christian homes.

Specifically I would like to ask you to support your position on tithing... I can only find 3 examples in scripture of people or groups tithing. That would be Abraham, the Israelites (under OT law) and the Pharisees (also Israelites under OT law). Which one should I tithe like?

Thank you

Weekly Bible Verses

I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.  For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,  for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God,  who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,  for which I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher, which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me. 2 Timothy 1:3-12 (ESV)

Miracles Happen

"Wow!" Bill told his friend Isaac. "Check this out! The Bible says here that the Israelites crossed over the Red Sea on foot!"

"Well," replied Isaac, "That's actually the Sea of Reeds, which at that point was actually very shallow, so they probably crossed over in just two feet of water."

"Oh," said Bill, and he continued to read, disappointed. "Hey, wait! Check this out! It says here that the Egyptian army drowned in just two feet of water!"

Point of View One enterprising man asked the Lord, "Lord, how long is a million years to you?" The Lord replied, "To me, a million years is like a second." The man asked, "Lord, how much is a million dollars to you?" The Lord said, "To me, a million dollars is like a penny." The man asked, "Lord, may I have a penny?" The Lord answered, "Sure, just a second."

(Via Facebook) Brock Lusch Hey Guys I listen to your podcast out of Cincinnati,OH. I heard about you from The Wild Game Hunting Podcast. Y'all talk about some very interesting topics. As a fellow brother in Christ I say Blessings to you guys and the podcast. You keep recording and I'll keep listening as I drive my truck down the highway!

Aug 23rd, 8:00am What are the Top 10 things you taught your son/daughter that every hunter should know about deer hunting? As a first time hunter I have no one teaching me so I am teaching and learning alone.

(Doug's reply)

1. Know what you are about to shoot at 2. What does a deer track look like. 3. What does deer droppings look like. 4. How to tell a buck from a doe. 5. What is a scrape. 6. What is a rub 7. Be sure of your target before you pull the trigger. Once the bullet is gone you can't take it back. 8. Where should you hold the cross hairs on the scope to make the best possible shot. 9. Find a gun suited for your child. Don't start them on a big gun they won't like. Practice with a 22 before to get used to the scope. 10. Aim small miss small.

Weekly Bible Verses

Persecution Will Come

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes. “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household. Matthew 10: 16-25 (ESV)

World War II veteran stops armed robber, The Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach, Fla. 08/25/14

89-Year-old Arthur Lewis was working at his store, the Jewelry Exchange, in Palm Beach County, Fla. when a man entered the shop and pretended to need his watch fixed. The man then drew a gun and attempted to rob Lewis. Lewis responded to the threat by grasping the criminal’s firearm and drawing a pistol. After a physical altercation, Lewis shot the robber, which prompted the thief to flee. Police caught up with the robber when his getaway driver sought police assistance for the wounded criminal. The armed robber targeted the wrong person. Lewis is a veteran of World War II, and previously defended himself against an attempted armed robbery in 2010.

Listener Feedback: From: Don Anderson Subject: Media Bias  Message Body:

Doug,

I share your concern about the "Twist" the media puts on things and how they not so tactfully push their opinions and agenda.  However, I think you were a bit short sighted and unfair in episode 53, "Range Rules, Safety & Etiquette".  You complained about the press reporting that the Chicago PD was conducting their investigation into the off duty Officer involved shooting as a homicide investigation.  I believe they were probably reporting exactly what Chicago PD told them.

Every death investigation and shooting investigation is conducted as a homicide investigation until proven otherwise.  In fact, the off duty shooting was in fact a homicide - a justifiable homicide.  There are several kinds of homicide - Justifiable Homicide, Murder, Voluntary Manslaughter, Involuntary Manslaughter and Vehicular Manslaughter.   Justifiable Homicide and Murder are intentional acts.  All three types of Manslaughter are unintentional. Only Justifiable Homicide is legal, the others are prohibited.

Every investigation is conducted the same way so that all the evidence is collected and preserved.  A homicide investigation is intended to determine if there was a crime or not and to prove either innocence or guilt.

I agree that the mainstream media targets gun owners and that "Evil" Second Amendment.  But we must be fair and informed when commenting on them was well.

Troy, I have been listening to the GNG podcasts from Podcast #1 on. I am now up to #51. I was in tears listening to your testimony about your neck injury and its unrelenting pain, followed by the loss of your job, home, and finances....and finally your pride. God allowed something similar to happen to me in the early 2000s. I was a high-paid executive at a Fortune 50 company and was RIFed in the Tech Meltdown after 17+ years with the company. Thinking to secure my future, I took the large severance payment along with a an inheritance given to me by my mother and bought 1/3 of a national mfg. company that my neighbor owned (I knew him for 10 years). After about 2 years, my partner bled me dry financially, and when I finally cut off the money, he booted me out of the company. I was broke, jobless, and over 50 years old in a poor job market. It finally brought me to my knees and I threw myself onto the Lord's mercy. Thankfully, to the glory of our Lord, He directed me to self-employment consulting with local governments and a part-time job working for Christian owners of the newest gun range in North Texas. My savings have been replenished and my wife and I just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. More importantly, I maintain a humble spirit by joyfully cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping up brass, and mopping the floors at the gun range, even though I am now a manager there. I am blessed that the Lord has restored me, spiritually and financially, and he even led us to reconnect with one of our neighborhood couples who led us to Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX, which has become our home of worship. I just wanted you to know how your testimony resonated with me. I listen to all the podcasts and consider them a blessing. I pray for you and Doug to continue with this ministry and for our Lord to bless you and your families.

“Blessed be the Lord, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;” (Psalms 144:1 NASB)

Weekly Bible Verse

“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money,  come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.     Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.    Incline your ear, and come to me;  hear, that your soul may live;  and I will make with you an everlasting covenant,  my steadfast, sure love for David.     Behold, I made him a witness to the peoples,  a leader and commander for the peoples.     Behold, you shall call a nation that you do not know, and a nation that did not know you shall run to you, because of the  Lord  your God, and of the Holy One of Israel,  for he has glorified you.     “Seek the  Lord  while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;    let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the  Lord , that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.    For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the  Lord .     For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:1-9

Comedy Corner: In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear conflicts, the Montana Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, and fishermen to take precautions and keep alert for bears while in the field.

"We advise that outdoorsmen wear noisy little bells on their clothing so as not to startle bears that aren't expecting them. We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter with a bear. It is also a good idea to watch out for fresh signs of bear activity. Outdoorsmen should recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear poop. Black bear poop is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirrel fur. Grizzly bear poop has little bells in it and smells like pepper. "

Listener Email: Troy, Thanks for clearing up my email from last week and giving some feedback. Its good to hear other Christian's thoughts on topics we don't always agree on. I just came from church and started listening to your last show talking about Simon Peter. That is the same person our preacher talked about here in Belgium. He talked about Peter as an example of a real person we can all relate too. Simon displayed signs of faith and faltered at the same time. He was the only disciple to try and walk on water, he told Jesus he would never leave him at the last supper (he would), never deny him (he did X3), after Jesus's death he jumped out of the boat and swam to shore when he saw Jesus and talked with him while the other disciples rowed, and he was even told to basically shut up and listen to Jesus by God on the mountain with the 2 other disciples. Simon Peter's life showed great faith and how human every man is when we do not have faith, listen, or follow God's plan for us. Warner Paredes

Weekly Bible Verse Ephesians 6:18-20 (ESV) 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. 35 “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them. 38 If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants! 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Jim Says; Troy, I just wanted to say thanks for all you do with the God and Guns Podcast. I have been struggling lately with how much to prep. I agree we all need to be prepared and take care of our families and even be there for friends and neighbors in time of need, but how much is too much. A bunker in the back yard with 5 years of supplies I think is too much. Maybe even a slap in God's face who provides for us. So where do you draw the line, biblically? I appreciate all the discussion please keep it up.

Weekly Bible Verse:

Luke 12:16-21 ESV

16 And he (Jesus) told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully,17 and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ 18 And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ 20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ 21 So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

Hearing you talk about your drift from God during parts of your life and going back to ask forgiveness of those people that were harmed hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn't cause all kinds of trouble during my atheistic start to life, but there are a few people who deserve an apology. You've inspired me to find them this week. I can tell, that a part of you is not sure if just you rambling can be a successful show, but your trust is truly in the almighty God and it shows. I bet you reach more than just little old me with your monologues. Please keep shows such as this up! Feel free to share on the air.”

My reply Transition to Bible Verse

Weekly Bible Verse:

Philippians 3:12-14   “12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Don’t let your mistakes of your past hold you back, once you’ve asked forgiveness of God and tried making things right with those you’ve wronged, whether they forgive you or not you put your focus on God’s leading and follow in faith.

On a side note for Troy and his father, I purchased a slide pull charging handle for my SA XD9 Sub Compact.  My wife can easily rack the slide, whereas without it she had a hard time doing so.  It has held up well, and seems to be of great quality.  Here is the link: http://brassstacker.com/home.php   Thank you guys again for all that you do, and I look forward to everything that is to come of your show. God Bless,

Shannon Great show! I've only recently started listening to podcasts and quickly discovered FRN. I subscribe to the master feed and am still trying to catch up. Just listened to Project Appleseed today and found myself mesmerized listening to the real history of our forefathers. As soon as I'm done writing this I'm going to their website hoping to find something near my home so I can take my boys. I also want to say that I love the idea of combining God and guns as they are; the most important thing in my life, and one of my favorite earthly joys. Keep up the good work and God bless. Thanks again and take care

Weekly Bible Verse: Luke 6: 27-36 (ESV)

 Love Your Enemies

27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. 29To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. 30 Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. 31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

32 “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. 35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. 36Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

Headlines from NRA News

1. Break out the current political, temper laiden, short fused, crazed, fearful seeking security, hate filled, and intellectually lazy. 2. Chaos in the news, around the world, in your own community. 3. What can we do:

  1. Support - Pro-Gun, Pro-Life, Pro-Family groups with money or whatever God has given you. i.e. NRA, Gun Owners of America, NAGR, ACLJ, Focus on the Family, local groups.

  2. Volunteer - Project Appleseed, local gun range, church to teach, pass out info, make calls.

  3. Engage - When you see a lie, engage it with truth.

  4. Interact - Talk with those you don't see eye to eye with, it is a two way street, as long as they don’t know you they believe what they want about you. If you befriend them then they see you're not the monster they’ve been led to believe.

  5. Enlighten - Share information about what is really going on in a non-threatening, non-emotional way.

  6. Recruit - You know which of your friends, family, co-workers think like you. Help lead them to get involved with you.

  7. Teach - Volunteer for church, community, little league, take hunting people that don’t know how, 4H, your kids, grandkids, help mothers and fathers in single parent families by watching their kids so they can have a break.

  8. Encourage - Young people, the afraid, the weak, the worn out. Heavy sighs

  9. Mentor - Take a younger or more novice person under your wing and teach them what you know, invest in the future.

(You all already know this, just make an intentional effort to start sharing.) Start now, schedule a block of time each week and find something that you are good at and keep doing it, then train someone else to do what you are doing.

4. Fear - all the problems we can see around use are based in fear in that the politician stir up the fear so they will give away the freedoms of us all for the false promise of peace. We know there is no peace apart from Jesus. The most important thing we can do in all of our lives here on this earth is to point others to Jesus to put their faith in him, not is us or a party, or a movement, or a country, or laws. We all suffer under the curse of Adam and those who do not know the Prince of Peace have no hope. Jesus is the son of God, who became man, lived amongst us the perfect life free from sin, became a sacrifice for the sins of all men to redeem us to our God. Who died and rose and again and is seated at the right hand of the father. This is our faith. Just as the World was condemned by the sin of Adam, the world can be redeemed by Jesus.

In the next couple shows we will be interview a couple high profile people in the Christian-Prepper community. These will be discussions on their beliefs and I encourage you to catch the next few shows as they will be important to reflect on as the world continues its path towards Revelations time approaching.

Comedy Corner:

Picture was submitted by Matthew on our God and Guns Facebook Page of Sylvester Stallone and Chuck Norris sitting on the hood of a shot up car and Stallone’s balloon says “how many pushups can you do” and Chuck Norris’ Balloon says “all of them”.

Joke was submitted to me this week by Steve  “Chuck Norris moved into a new house. The cable company waited on him from 8am to 6 pm.“

Jim sent an email,  Hey guys, love your podcast. Listen to it every week. Here's a Chuck Norris fact for you...Chuck Norris starred in all the Star Wars movies as... The Force.

Chuck Norris doesn't do his taxes.....he just sends a blank tax form with his picture on it.

Brad says:

Hey guys thanks for the great podcast. I really enjoy it. I have one question God is apart of the whole podcast right? So wouldn't it be cool to pray to Him either to start with to invite Him there or the end to thank Him for Blessing us? Just my thoughts.”

Justin says;

“Hey Troy, love the show. It's funny you mentioned about canceling your cable TV subscription. I did the same thing. My breaking point happened when my 2 year old girl and 3 year old boy were watching Dora the Explorer and one of the advertisements for Hardee's came on that was more sexually suggestive than I'd seen on TV in the past. Ever. My kids were staring at the TV the whole time, and my wife and I, our jaws dropped. I canceled and never looked back. I don't want that filth in my home. I firmly believe it is Satan invading my home, and I'm not some crazy guy with conspiracy theories. I told the cable provider, the channel, and Hardee's my opinion on the matter and demanded an explanation. All three gave me the run around. What's funny is my kids have so much more fun now that the TV is virtually never on. I highly recommend ending cable and satellite TV for any wholesome Christian family. Life will prove to be much more fulfilling. God bless you and keep up the good fight,”

Weekly Bible Verse:

1 Peter 3:8-12 “Calling to Blessing”

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; 11 let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
