A redhead, brunette and blonde were on their way to Heaven.

God told them the stairway to Heaven was 1000 steps, and on every 5th step He’d tell them a joke. But, they must not laugh or else they couldn’t enter heaven.

The brunette went first and started laughing on the 65th step, so she could not enter Heaven.

The redhead went next and started laughing on the 320th step, so she could not enter Heaven either.

Then, it was the blonde’s turn. When she got to the 999th step, she started laughing.

“Why are you laughing?” God asked. “I didn’t tell a joke.”

“I know,” the blonde replied. “I just got the first one.”


Cell Phone Gift

Bill bought his beautiful blonde wife, Sherry, a cell phone for their first wedding anniversary.

Sherry loved the gift, and watched intently as Bill explained all the features on the phone.

The next day, as Sherry is having her hair done, her phone rings. It’s Bill. “Hi hon,” he says. “How do you like your new phone?”

“I just love it. It’s so small and your voice is clear as a bell, but there’s one thing I don’t understand. How did you know I was at the beauty parlor ?”.

A man entered a Marathon gas station in Cincinnati, Ohio, pulled out a gun and menaced two store employees. One of the employees responded by retrieving a gun and firing at the criminal, striking him and causing him to flee. Comedy Corner: The Golden Rat

A walked into a chinese gift shop in California and saw a golden rat sitting on the counter. The shop owner said the rat was 10 dollars but the story that went with it was 100 dollars. The man said he would buy the golden rat with out the story to save money. The man leaves the shop and starts down the street. He looks behind him and sees 3 rats walking behind him. A couple blocks later he looks back and there are 100 rats following him.. He picks up the pace and starts to run. Looking back he sees 100,000 rats following him so he runs toward the bay and throws the golden rat in the water. All of the rats jumped in and drown.

NRA Armed Citizen Homeowner shoots intruder who got in through doggie door, KABB, San Antonio, Texas 06/11/15

A burglar gained entry into a house in San Antonio, Texas through the doggie door. While the intruder was inside the home, the homeowner returned. Upon discovering the burglary, the homeowner retrieved a gun and shot the intruder multiple times.

Police have stated that following the incident the “homeowner was very cooperative.” The homeowner was a poor choice of target, as local FOX affiliate KABB described him as “a longtime business owner of a security company.” (KABB, San Antonio, Texas 06/11/15)

I listen to you guys every week at work and enjoy your podcast. Most of all I enjoy that you all talk about God and guns which are two of my favorite subjects.

Because of your program I have devoted myself to listening to an audio version of the bible every day along with a devotional. I also enjoy listening to sermons of different preachers. There is nothing like listening and talking to God every day.

If you wouldn't mind keeping my family in prayer as my Wife lost her job in Oct. thanks to a great church and loving Grandparents, we were able to give our kids a great Christmas.

My Wife currently has application out and could possibly be picked up with the post office. I know God has everything in control and he has given us peace during this time.

Thank you for all that you guys do and it would be great to meet you all some day. I have family in Newman Georgia. I am not sure how far that is from you Doug.

James Morgan Hey Troy if you still haven't given away your Duck Commander Devotional please keep me in mind. I am a week behind because of the holidays. Keep up love the 'cast and God has blessed me through you guys.


Joshua Southwell I want to say a couple of things that I have been in my mind about God and Guns. Without God I would have nothing. I have turned my life over to his care and it has taken weight off my shoulders. I have been trying to get my wife to go to church but have not been successful to this point, so I get my God fix by listening to Bishop T.d. Jakes his words have helped a lot in my relationship getting to know better. I am still working on being a good Christian but I do struggle. The other thing I think u could even talk about on the show if you're so inclined is teaching ur kids and ur responsibility to teach others about gun safety. The reason I think about this is because I just recently have bought my little cousin who is 5 a BB gun as I have for all my kids. Long story short there was a conversation between his mother and him why he could not shoot his gun up in the air and his mother kind of made a joke of it. When she told me this I had her tell him u do not shoot at or point your firearms at anything you don't plan to kill or plan on eating. I have taught all my kids to respect guns and to use them safely. My youngest who is 8 knows to respect all firearms and knows the do's or don'ts of safety. I had thought my cousin mother and his father would be better at teaching her child to respect firearms since we was both taught by the same family. It is our responsibility and duty to take the time to teach safety and by doing that showing the fun but serious nature of shooting sports can be. I have carried a firearm for work for 15 years as a security officer (paying for my own training most time). My youngest is use to seeing me carry a firearm she and other kids and some adults have had questions and I feel it is my duty to answer those questions as best as I can. Sorry so long but I am passionate about teaching safety and love to take the time to talk about it I think it would make a good show. My 2 cents

NRA Armed Citizen Homeowner holds criminal at gunpoint until police arrive, KABC, Los Angeles, Calif. 01/05/15

Jeff Preach was at home in Castaic, Calif. when a man knocked at his front door. Preach answered the door and had a brief conversation with the man before the stranger punched him in the face, went inside the house, and attempted to rob him. Preach tackled the intruder with the help of his friend Larry Bensell. Once Bensell had the criminal under control, Preach went to another part of the home and retrieved a shotgun. Comedy Corner: Three guys had an accident and went straight to heaven. When they got there, St. Peter said, "We only have one rule in heaven. Don't step on the ducks!"

They entered heaven and sure enough there were ducks all over the place. It was almost impossible not to step on a duck and although they tried their best to avoid them the first guy accidentally stepped on one.

Along came St. Peter with the homeliest woman he ever saw. St. Peter chained them together and said, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this homely woman".

The next day, the second guy stepped accidentally on a duck and along came St. Peter, who didn't miss a thing, and with him was another extremely homely woman. He chained them together with the same admonishment as the first.

The third guy had observed all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to a horrible looking woman was very careful where he stepped. He managed to go for months without stepping on any ducks. Then one day, St. Peter came up to him with the most gorgeous woman he had ever laid eyes on. St. Peter chained them together without saying a word.

The guy remarked, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all eternity?"

She replied, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck"!

Main Topic Bartering 101

  • Meet at neutral safe well lit place if at all possible, take partner with you if possible.
  • Keep emotion out of it.
  • Don’t drive further than they are willing to, unless too big to bring to you.
  • Ask up front if they are willing to negotiate.
  • Let them name the price and talk as much as possible.
  • Never make an offer unless forced, and then make a dirt cheap offer that will get them talking.
  • Take your time looking over the item. Noting every blemish, scratch, area of concern. Make sure it works, in the case of firearms with permission of owner I clear the gun and check it by dry firing or use of snap caps to make sure they cycle and the hammer goes click.
  • Find out who the decision maker is and only deal with them, if they aren't there then don't go.
  • Have multiple things you are willing to barter with, cash is last for you to put up.
  • Always trade up. Shotguns to rifles, Rifles to handguns. Also brand names up and value up.
  • Be willing to walk away. There is another deal around the corner.
  • Make a fair trade don’t take advantage of people who are not capable of making a good decision, don’t burn bridges you may trade again with them, don’t brag about ripping someone off you’ll get a bad reputation and people won’t refer others to you.

The owner of a mechanic shop in Birmingham, Ala. was sleeping at his business after repeated burglary attempts, when a pair of criminals jumped a fence and came onto the property. The owner retrieved a gun, shot one intruder then slapped the other, causing both to flee. The wounded burglar was captured while seeking medical treatment at a local hospital. Hello, I very much enjoy listening to your podcast.  Keep up the good work.  I would like to offer one bit of feedback.  If you could adjust the volume of the intro/outro music and especially the high pitched guitar riff in the middle down a bit I would appreciate it.  When I have the volume adjusted where I can understand what you are saying the music is uncomfortably loud, and I'm half deaf from years of shooting and being around machinery.:)  The volume of the voice portions of your podcasts seem in line with the others I listen to.  Just the music comes through very loud, especially the riff because it hits you without warning.

I wanted to get you guys some information about the Shooting and Outdoor Convention, a new shooting industry trade show we will be hosting this July 30 - August 2 in Jacksonville, FL.  What we are creating is an annual  firearms, shooting, outdoors, and hunting trade show for the Southeast.  What also makes it unique is that we will have both industry only days and be open to the public.  Thursday is our “industry only” day, Friday – Sunday will be open to the public so you can interact directly with the manufacturers.  Over the four day convention we are expecting around 40,000 people to attend.  We are committed to making this a top tier event for the firearms industry and are working with community leaders, the City of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, and other local organizations to make sure this event is something the City, the State, and the industry can be proud of.   At the beginning of next year we will unveil the speaker for the welcome dinner. NRA Armed Citizen Veteran's .45 frightens off thieves, The Gaston Gazette, Gaston County, N.C. 12/05/14

Sixty-eight-year-old disabled veteran Joseph Sapienza was at home in Gastonia, N.C. when he heard a suspicious noise at his front door. Sapienza retrieved a .45-caliber pistol, placed it in a holster attached to a walker he uses to get around, and opened the door. There were two masked men on his porch attempting to get inside. Recalling what happened next, Sapienza told a reporter, “When they saw the .45, one ran one way up the street, and the other went the other way.”

Sapienza believes he may have been targeted by the criminals because of his disability. (The Gaston Gazette, Gaston County, N.C. 12/05/14)

The Reading Chicken A chicken walks into a library, goes up to a librarian and says, "Book book book." The librarian decides that the chicken wants a book so he gives the chicken a book and the chicken walks away. About ten minutes later the chicken comes back with the book, looking a bit agitated, saying, "Book book book." The librarian decides the chicken wants another book so he takes the old book back and gives the chicken another book. The chicken walks out the door. Ten minutes later the chicken comes back again, very agitated, saying, "Book book book!" so quickly it almost sounds like one word. Pharmacy employee fights off armed robber, Ozarks First, Springfield, Mo. 09/30/14

An armed man entered Family Pharmacy in Taney County, Mo. and ordered an employee to give him pills. One of the store’s employees responded by retrieving a gun and firing at the robber, striking him and causing him to flee. The criminal was captured by police a short time later. Following the incident Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell told a media outlet, “As long as you've got store owners or store employees who are well trained and proficient with firearms, more power to them.”

Intruder on federal probation stopped by resident, KTLA, Los Angeles, Calif. 09/16/14, Post-Periodical, San Fernando, Calif. 09/16/14

A man on federal probation entered a home in Van Nuys, Calif. and attacked the homeowner. The homeowner retrieved a handgun and shot the criminal, halting the altercation. Following a hospitalization to treat the gunshot wound, the intruder was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Hey guys my name is Chris I'm from Sanger Texas. I have had my CHL for about a month now and just order a Alien Holster thanks to you Doug and his review of it. I can't wait to get it in the mail and to start using it. I just started listening to your show for a week now and went from the 1st show to the last one. I have to confess that I am not as close to God as I should be but I do believe in him wholeheartedly. I plan on becoming closer to him and letting go completely to him. I wasn't raised with guns but here in the past 6 months they have been one of my expensive passions. I currently have a M&P Shield 9mm, yes I know its not a 45 but like yall say you have to start somewhere. I also have a savage 320 defense shotgun and I am about to buy a Mossburg 500. Homeowner holds intruder at gunpoint until police arrive, The Tampa Bay Times, Tampa Bay, Fla. 09/03/14 Around 4:30 a.m., Joseph Cihak, a homeowner in St. Petersburg, Fla., awakened and went to use the bathroom. While heading to the bathroom, Cihak came upon an intruder armed with a knife. Cihak was armed with a gun at the time and fired at the criminal twice before his gun malfunctioned. Cihak retrieved another gun and captured the unharmed home invader. As Cihak was holding the intruder for police, the criminal attempted to bargain with him. The burglar offered to mow Cihak’s lawn if he was allowed to go free. The ploy didn’t work and now the criminal is facing a charge of armed burglary.

After listening to a few I have heard some things that seem very concerning to me. Overall you guys seem to be a lot more zealous and knowledgeable about secular things (movies, sports etc...) than biblical things even though you both say you have grown up in Christian homes.

Specifically I would like to ask you to support your position on tithing... I can only find 3 examples in scripture of people or groups tithing. That would be Abraham, the Israelites (under OT law) and the Pharisees (also Israelites under OT law). Which one should I tithe like?

Initially, Haley didn’t find anyone in the home and went back to bed. However, another noise roused Haley again, at which point she discovered an intruder in a bedroom closet. While cleaning the attic, Joan and Harry found an old stub for some shoes they left at the repair shop 10 years ago. They thought it would be funny to go to the shop and see if the shoes were still there. So they did. They handed the stub to the repair man who took it and looked in the back. He came out again and said, "They'll be ready on Wednesday."

To Be Six Again

George was a thoughtful husband. He wanted to give his wife something special for her birthday which was coming up soon. As he sat on the edge of the bed, he watched his wife turning back and forth and looking at herself in the mirror. "Reta," he said, "What would you like for your birthday?"

His wife continued to look at herself and said, "I'd like to be six again."

George knew just what to do. On the big day, he got up early and made his wife a bowl of Fruit Loops. Then he took her to an amusement park where they rode all the rides. Five hours later, Reta's stomach felt upside down and her head was reeling. Never the less, George took her to McDonald's and bought her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake. Next, it was a movie with popcorn, soda and her favorite candy.

As Reta wobbled into the house that evening and flopped on the bed, George asked her, "Well, Dear, what was it like to be six again?"

Reta looked up at him. Her expression changed. She said, "I meant my dress size!"

Thanks for taking the time to put that together.  I know it took some time out of your already busy evening.

Things make a lot more sense now.  The controversy I see is some people's definition of "Lordship."  I think some people are using the idea of Lordship as reaching or attaining to a certain level of sanctification.  That is the part I disagree with.  I do believe that after salvation people can go through some very hard times, spiritually, and rebel against God.

I'm glad you made the distinction between people who ARE saved and people who "think" they are saved, and that it is God's job to decide when a person actually receives salvation.  I believe that a person can accept Christ at a young age but go through a rough patch and have a longer rebellious period than others but this does not diminish Jesus' Lordship during that time.  Because Lordship is not conditional on any certain level of sanctification.  If it were, that's when Christianity becomes "works" based.

The parts of this email I've underlined are what I previously thought you were believing, but I understand now that you were sending the message that there are people who "think" they are saved and just living "good lives."

Another verse that sticks out in my mind is 1 Corinthians 5:5 regarding believers in the church who continue to sin even after confronted about it:  "You are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord."

There is a difference between that kind of living and the example you gave of David.  When confronted about his most notable sin, sexual immorality, David repented.  Lordship was in place but his flesh still emerged.

1 Corinthians 6:11 (regarding a list of immoral actions) says this: "And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

Clerk chases off armed robber, WJCL, Savannah, Ga. 08/25/14

Clerk Rick Patel was working at a Shell Food Mart in Claxton, Ga. when a hooded man approached the counter and attempted to rob the store at gunpoint. Patel responded by retrieving a pistol, which then he used to chase the criminal out of the store. Police suspect the hooded man has committed several other armed robberies. Following the incident, Patel told Savannah’s WJCL, “I don’t like to shoot nobody but when it comes to my life I would. And thank God I didn’t get hurt, I didn’t kill him, otherwise I would have regretted but hey, you made the choice, regrets happen.” In recent years, some convenience store clerks have faced discipline following an act of armed self-defense. In a welcome departure from these instances, the owner of Patel’s store told the TV station, “I’m really proud. Whatever he did I’d like if everybody started doing it that way, robbery will be stopped, especially for convenience stores.”

1. Know what you are about to shoot at 2. What does a deer track look like. 3. What does deer droppings look like. 4. How to tell a buck from a doe. 5. What is a scrape. 6. What is a rub 7. Be sure of your target before you pull the trigger. Once the bullet is gone you can't take it back. 8. Where should you hold the cross hairs on the scope to make the best possible shot. 9. Find a gun suited for your child. Don't start them on a big gun they won't like. Practice with a 22 before to get used to the scope. 10. Aim small miss small.

World War II veteran stops armed robber, The Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach, Fla. 08/25/14

89-Year-old Arthur Lewis was working at his store, the Jewelry Exchange, in Palm Beach County, Fla. when a man entered the shop and pretended to need his watch fixed. The man then drew a gun and attempted to rob Lewis. Lewis responded to the threat by grasping the criminal’s firearm and drawing a pistol. After a physical altercation, Lewis shot the robber, which prompted the thief to flee. Police caught up with the robber when his getaway driver sought police assistance for the wounded criminal. The armed robber targeted the wrong person. Lewis is a veteran of World War II, and previously defended himself against an attempted armed robbery in 2010.

A man walks up to the Marine guard at the White House front gate and asked to see President Clinton. The guard says "Sorry sir but Clinton is no longer president."

The man comes back the next day and again approaches the same guard and asks to see President Clinton. Again the guard says "Sir, Clinton is no longer president." The man leaves but comes back the third day and again asked to see President Clinton.

The guard says "Sir...you have been here three days in a row asking to see President Clinton...and I have told you each time that Clinton is no longer president...what gives?"

The man says "I know... I just like hearing it."

6th Commandment - Do not Murder* The sixth commandment helps us to understand... 1. What murder is (Deut. 5:17). You shall not murder (Deut. 5:17). Are There Exceptions? Self Defense (Neh. 4:11-14). Exodus 22:2-3 reads, “If a thief is found breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, but if the sun has risen on him, there shall be bloodguilt for him.” So even after the Commands are given in Exodus 20, we can see that God permits the taking of a life if one’s own life is in potential danger. Capital Punishment Genesis 9:6 not only shows that we are to value human life because of creation; it also points out that if a man kills another man, his life was also to be taken. Even before the law was given to Israel—before the Commandment not to murder—God established capital punishment. This punishment speaks to the severity of the crime. The taking of a life warrants a punishment in kind—a death for a death. Just War In Scripture, God at times commanded battles between nations. Such battles and wars were God’s hand of justice against the wicked. Examples of God sanctioning war can be found throughout the historical books of the Old Testament. Although men and women are killed in battle, there must be a difference between the act of murder and a death in battle. Jesus Himself said, “My kingdom is not of this world… If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world” (John 18:36). 2. What drives it (Matt. 5:21-22). You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire (Matt. 5:21-22). Murder Affects Us All - Abortion, Infanticide, Democide, genocide, euthanasia.

3. The cure for it (1 John 3:10-15). By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him (1 John 3:10-15).

Conclusion "The Sixth Commandment forbids murder, yet as Jesus showed, the intent of the Commandment addresses the words that we say and ultimately the heart behind these actions. Murder—and the heart of anger behind it—denies the inherent value of human life and strikes out against the image of God in humanity. For this reason, God takes murder very seriously. In fact, unrepentant murderers will not inherit the kingdom of God (Rev. 21:8). But the work of Jesus on the cross can cleanse even this sin and change the attitude of the heart. Our world is full of people who do not know that they were made in the image of God and are valuable to Him. Nor do they fully recognize the eternal consequences of the anger in their hearts or the actions that overflow from their hearts. Their hatred even extends to God Himself. Yet as Jesus loved us enough to die for us while we were still His enemies, we ought to love these people in the name of Jesus that they too may be freed from hatred to love God and others. A life that is pleasing to God is one that has moral purity not only in its actions, but also in its desires of heart.9 —Wayne Grudem Every destructive emotion bears its own harvest, but anger’s fruit is the most bitter of all.10 —Billy Graham

Clerk halts robber armed with rifle, WFSB, Connecticut, 08/06/14

A man armed with a rifle entered Congress Mini Mart in New Haven, Conn. and attempted to rob the store. At some point the thief left, then traveled to the nearby Nino’s Market convenience store and attempted to rob it. The clerk at Nino’s responded to the threat by retrieving a gun and shooting the criminal in the chest, killing him. Police have confirmed that the clerk was in compliance with Connecticut’s gun laws. Bizarrely, the clerks at Congress Mini Mart and Nini’s Market are brothers.

It's been a while since I have written and I have heard you asking for feedback or listener letters so here you go! My God activities for the week have been reading my Duck Commander devotional (have been reading since Nov '13)  and this week I get to usher at church. Gun activities I found a new local gun shop and was VERY impressed to find that it was a female owner. I also picked up a Taurus pt745 pro fairly cheap. In more personal news my wife and I found out we will be having twin boys in November which will put us up to 3 boys in the house. So I am sure we will be buying BB guns like crazy before too long! I do have something I found out with my wife's pregnancy that is gun related. Our doctor took her off shooting in her 18th week as it can cause hearing damage in the babies. So I just wanted to share that with listeners. Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing the new shows!

You see, Christianity begins not with anything you do for God, like coming to church, but by receiving, resting in, what God has done for you. Victoria Davison had just parked her vehicle in Milwaukee, Wisc. when a pair of criminals approached and ordered her to hand over her car keys. Then one of the men said, “Go get the cannon,” which prompted Davison to act. Fearing for her life, Davison, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, retrieved a gun and fired at the criminals, striking one of the robbers. Blond Painter Julie, the blonde, was getting pretty desperate for money. She decided to go to the nicer, richer neighborhoods around town and look for odd jobs as a handy woman. The first house she came to, a man answered the door and told Julie,"Yeah, I have a job for you. How would you like to paint the porch?" "Sure that sounds great!" said Julie. "Well, how much do you want me to pay you?" asked the man. "Is fifty bucks all right?" Julie asked. "Yeah, great. You'll find the paint and ladders you'll need in the garage." The man went back into his house to his wife who had been listening. "Fifty bucks! Does she know the porch goes all the way around the house?" asked the wife. "Well, she must, she was standing right on it!" her husband replied. About 45 minutes later, Julie knocked on the door."I'm all finished," she told the surprised homeowner. The man was amazed. "You painted the whole porch?" "Yeah," Julie replied, "I even had some paint left, so I put on two coats!" The man reached into his wallet to pay Julie. "Oh, and by the way," said Julie, "That's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

For the Sick A little girl was in church with her mother when she started feeling ill. "Mommy," she said, "can we leave now?" "No" her mother replied. "Well, I think I'm gonna be sick, Momma!" "Then go out the front door and around to the back of the church and then behind a bush." After about 60 seconds the little girl returned to her seat. "Were you sick?" her mom asked. "Yes." "How could you have gone all the way to the back of the church and returned so quickly?" "I didn't have to go out of the church, Mommy. They have a box next to the front door that says, 'For the Sick'."

NRA Armed Citizen Central Florida News, Orlando, Fla.

82-year-old Charles Robbins was asleep at home in Daytona Beach Florida, when a burglar wearing a mask and carrying a hammer and screw driver attempted to break in through the front door. After awakening to the criminal’s attempts to break the front door lock with the screwdriver, Robbins retrieved a handgun, shot the criminal through the door and then called 911. The wounded burglar tried to flee, but barely made it off Robbins’ porch before collapsing dead. Local law enforcement has been supportive of Robbins’ actions, with Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood stating, “The homeowner did something the criminal justice system couldn’t do with this guy… We’re familiar with the burglar. He put him out of business.” Robbins was clear that he would take the same actions again, noting, “Better nobody try to break into my house or they’ll get the same thing he did.”

Doug - Did my daily devotionals. Currently using the Piper devotional for my iPhone. I was able to get a little 22 ammo today. 100 rounds.

Troy: God: Teaching Sunday School, Preparing for Bible School, Daily Devotional Made the Foundations (System Theology) by R.C. Sproul my Devotional because my time is limited by other activities. So I am doing 15-20 minutes a day on the book and workbook and then prayer. Guns: We hosted Gun Guy Radio Last Saturday, Just EDC, SIRT Training Pistol Dry fire at home and Office, clearing rooms, Training Cards and fast target acquisition. Cleaned “Puff” after some range time.

Last Sunday, the pastor of a local church began his sermon with a supposedly true story...

"I was on a plane last week, flying from Chicago to California, when we ran into some very severe turbulence. As it got worse, the passengers became more and more alarmed, and finally even the flight attendants began to look concerned. Finally, one of them noticed that I had "REV." in front of my name on the passenger list came over to me and said, "Sir, this is really frightening. Do you suppose you could ... I don't know ... do something religious?"

"So I took up a collection."


 

A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said,

"Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

Hey guys, I have a suggestion for a show topic. Christians are a lot like discerning gun owners, in the they are very particular about their Bibles. And like gun owners, Christians will almost always have more than one in their possession, for a multitude of purposes or reasons. Maybe there is the family heirloom Bible on the shelf, the highlighted and marked-up Bible in the night stand, a free Bible handed out by a local church or organization, the Bible app on their phone, etc. I personally have three paper copies: my large study Bible that my wife gave me on our wedding day (I'm convinced that it could serve as physical armor as much as spiritual armor), a leather thin-line Bible to take to work and church (EDC), and a compact BoB (Bug-out Bible) that I keep with my emergency supplies. How many Bibles do you own? And like what you put in your firearms, Christians get very opinionated about what is in their Bibles. What's in yours? KJV? NIV? ESV? Of course, most will agree that, like firearms, (almost) any version of the Bible is better than not having one at all.

I'll save my testimony for another time but I thought that would be good enough to start. Keep up the good work and I look forward to listening every week!

Gospel Message

Jeremiah 29:13 (ESV)

13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

“A” is Admit. You must admit to God that you are a sinner. You must be sorry for your sins and turn away from sinning.  Verses that support this step are:

  • Romans 3:23
    • for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
  • Romans 6:23
    • For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Acts 3:19
    • Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
  • 1 John 1:9
    • If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

“B” is for Believe.  You must believe that Jesus is God’s Son and that God sent Jesus to pay       the penalty for sin. Verses about believing include:

    • For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • John 14:6
    • Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
  • Romans 5:8
    • But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

“C” is for Confess. You must confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Read the        following verse:

  • Romans 10:9-10,13
    • 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved…. 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

After you admit to God that you are a sinner, repent and turn from your sin, believe that Jesus is God’s Son sent to die to pay for the sins of the world, and confess your faith in Jesus, you are a Christian and know Jesus as your Savior.

NRA Armed Citizen Store owner fells robber armed with knife, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia, Pa. 06/23/14 Owner Sharon Doyle was working the counter of Stan’s Health Foods in Philadelphia, Pa. when a knife-wielding man entered the store and broke into the cash register. Doyle, a former police officer, responded to the threat by drawing a gun and firing at the criminal. The thief was struck in the chest, and died a short time later.

Guns: Just EDC all week at beach camp, to and fro, and since being home. SIRT Pistol Dry fire at Condo.

Comedy Corner:

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible -- Psalm 23.  She gave the youngsters a month to learn the verse.  Little Bobby was excited about the task, but he just couldn't remember the Psalm.  After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.  On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Bobby was so nervous.  When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my shepherd . . . and that's all I need to know!"

When a mother saw a thunderstorm forming in mid-afternoon, she worried about her seven-year-old daughter who would be walking the three blocks from school to home.  Deciding to meet her, the mother saw her daughter walking nonchalantly along, stopping to smile whenever lightning flashed.  Seeing her mother, the little girl ran to her, explaining happily, "All the way home, God's been taking my picture!"

Armed with a .22-caliber pistol, Kert went to investigate and happened upon a burglar inside the store. Kert forced the intruder to the floor and held him at gunpoint until police could arrive. NRA Armed Citizen 22-year-old woman scares off mace-wielding robber, KCCI, Des Moines, Iowa 05/23/14

22-year-old Jessica McDonald, an employee of Discount Textbooks in Fort Dodge, Iowa, had just opened up the store when a man entered and demanded that she hand over the cash in the register. McDonald responded by showing the robber that the register was empty, at which point the man threatened her with mace. Following the threat, McDonald retrieved a handgun from a safe under the counter and pointed it at the criminal, causing him to flee. Store Manager Paul Tigges told a local media outlet that the pistol is kept under the counter for employees to use. In an interview after the incident, McDonald told the media outlet, “It was shocking to me when I started here that there is a gun and I always thought it was over the top and we didn’t need it, but I’m very glad that we have it.”

From: Brandon J D. My Situation Hey guys figured I might give you an update on my situation. My last day at the job we talked about previously is tomorrow and I am going to take on a position in corrections at the county sheriffs department. I hope one day to move up to patrol but we will see if God has that in store for me. Also listening to the past few shows I am thinking more and more about getting my C&C permit but first I want to find a 45 that fits me. I have listened to you guys talk down on High Points a lot but I have to admit I purchased a 9mm for my wife for our anniversary and she loves it. The selling point for me was the made in the USA as well as the glowing reviews of their customer service. She was just wanting something to shoot in her spare time and at the price point this kinda fit the bill. As for me I stepped away from guns for a bit and bought a Barnett crossbow which I have loved! As I said before I am going to start looking for a good EDC 45. As far as wish list the new Apex looks like an interesting platform but I would have to find someone that owns it to out some rounds through it. Subj: No Gun No Money Hi Doug, On a recent episode of the podcast, you mentioned the no guns no money card.  It was not clear to me if you knew where to get them.  I cam across them a few weeks ago, and made some up for my personal use.  I am sending you the file that I printed them from. The file worked just fine for me. I print my own business cards, so I already had the correct card stock.  I purchase at Staples business card stock, with 10 cards per page, 2 across and 5 high.  It works great, and I can give them out anywhere I see a "No Guns Allowed" sign at a business.  Hope it works well for you. Donut shop thief shot, The Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas, Nev. 05/15/14, KVVU, Las Vegas, Nev. 05/16/14

An armed man wearing a bandana entered the Donut Hut in Las Vegas, Nev. and attempted to rob the store and the customers inside. The store’s owner, Sothy Seang, got into an altercation with the criminal, during which he directed his girlfriend to retrieve a gun. The girlfriend complied, and as the robber tried to wrest control of the gun, a shot was fired, striking the thief and causing him to flee. The thief was later captured by police when he sought treatment for his wound. Seang purchased a firearm for his business following an earlier robbery. The criminal’s choice of target was a poor one; in the 1970s Seang fought the Viet Cong while serving with the Cambodian army.
