I've been wanting to give it a try since hearing you guys talk about it.  Thanks for all the great work that you and Troy do on the podcast I look forward to listening each time it comes out.   Thanks again, Phillip Cook

Hello Doug,

First of all, I would like to thank yinz for providing us with the God and Guns podcast. During 2014, I saved GnG programs on my mp3 and made it a point to hear the show during the week.

In February 2015, I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer after a routine physical. My Faith in God was not shaken during last year at all.  After all the chemo infusions, surgeries, warnings of nasty side effects and pain from my Doctors those things never happened. I have felt blessed more than anything.  I am thrilled to add that I have outlived my date of expiration date of September 27, 2015. Instead of feeling woe is me.  I felt more as giving hope for someone else. I have not as of yet been declared  cancer free but I have claimed my healing from the second I was told that I was cancer candidate.

Now that I have started back to work and still under the Doctor's watch. I have once again began downloading the podcast and listen at work.  The only restriction I have now is at work.  My Supervisor told me that if I am not 100% by March that he will have to let me go. Apparently he doesn't know the full power of God.  So stay tune for further Miracles.

Thirty-five years ago, unknown to me, God gave me the insight to buy Cancer Insurance.  Back then it was expensive at a whopping $12.00/month which was a lot back in 1980.  With that policy and company insurance it has been just enough to cover Doctor's bills and hospital cost. Just medicine alone cost $5K/ week.

During my walk, I have found three things that one needs in life. They are, Faith in God, Prayer and Determination.  I live off of Prayer.  I love praying for others as much as being prayed for.

In closing I would like to say is "Pray much and Pray often".  And I tell male and female both, "Don't be a Dope. Get the Scope".

Yinz see.  Yinz thought yinz were going to give away a sample pack of "Frog Lube" but yinz was beguiled into hearing my testimony.  So I figure I win twice.

Jim

Weekly Bible Verses:Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, 29 but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— 30 so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. 32 Remember Lot’s wife. 33 Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed. One will be taken and the other left. 35 There will be two women grinding together. One will be taken and the other left.” 37 And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.” Luke 17:28-37 (ESV)

Main TopicThe city of Lowell, Massachusetts has adopted a new law requiring handgun permit applicants to write an essay and pay “upwards of $1,100 in training” to qualify.

Even then, Lowell police superintendent William Taylor “has sole discretion for approving or denying the applications.”

According to Fox News, Taylor pushed the new law and the city council passed it. As a result, applicants now have to write an essay and “state in writing why they should receive” a handgun license.

Gun Owners Action League of Massachusetts executive director Jim Wallace said, “It is absurd that people should have to write an essay to the town to explain why they should be able to exercise their constitutional rights. We already have a very strict set of gun laws in the state, but this is way over the top.” And Lowell resident Dan Gannon told the City Council, “I will never write an essay to get my rights as an American citizen.”

But Lowell Police spokesman Capt. Timothy Crowley defended the law, suggesting it is a mischaracterization to refer to the written requirement as an “essay.” He said, “If you want a license to carry a firearm unrestricted wherever you want and whenever you want, the superintendent is just looking for some documentation as to why. That is not unreasonable to most people.”

In addition to the essay requirement, residents who want a handgun permit have to pay “upwards of $1,100 in training” fees.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii gun owners would be required to have insurance for their firearms and renew their gun registrations every five years under a bill introduced Wednesday at the State Legislature, proposals that gun advocates said are unneeded and would have a chilling effect on constitutional gun rights.

The proposal, introduced by State Sen. Josh Green (D – Kona, Ka’u) would require gun owners to obtain firearms liability insurance from private insurance companies.  Hawaii would be the first state in the country to enact such a requirement, if lawmakers and the governor approve of the law.

"I don't want to take people's guns away from them but I want people to take full responsibility," said Green, an emergency room physician at Kohala Hospital on the Big Island.

Green likens the requirement to car insurance.

"They have to pay insurance so that if they're in a collision and they hurt someone else who's an innocent bystander, it's covered. Just like with guns, if a gun falls into the wrong hands or if there's an accident, just an accident, it makes a lot of sense to me that we have that extra level of responsibility," Green said.

Bill Richter, secretary of the Hawaii Rifle Association, said, "Any time you mandate something on a core constitutional, fundamental right, it has the effect of chilling that right and the exercise thereof, so we really don't think it's a good idea."

Richter and insurance experts said homeowners and renters insurance would already cover accidents involving someone's firearms, even if gun incidents happen outside their home. Purposeful criminal activity would not be covered by liability insurance of any kind, Richter said.

Green's proposal would also require gun owners to renew their registrations every five years. Right now, that gun registration is good for life without taking into consideration changing medical or mental conditions of gun owners.

"Imagine if someone has become blind over the years, should they have a gun? Imagine if someone's had psychiatric illness from drug addiction," Green said.

The five-year renewal requirement would require 200,000 guns being re-registered in Hawaii each year, about ten times more registrations than are processed annually now.

"The workload is going to be incredibly high, it's going to be difficult to maintain and how are we going to pay for it?" Richter said.

Green admitted the proposal won’t be easy to get through the legislature and could take years to be approved.

"A bill this controversial and this unique usually does take a few years.  But I want people talking about it now so that if we have to do something we don't do it on the fly. That we've had good dialogue," Green said.

But Richter said Hawaii already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country and very low instances of gun violence, so further restrictions are not needed.

"Hawaii requires everybody to get a permit to acquire.  Requires training, 8-hour training course in order to purchase a handgun. Every transfer has to go through HPD. (Honolulu Police Department)  So there are more than enough controls," Richter said.

“Okay, we’ll see what we can do about that,” said Santa with a big smile.

Later on that day they also went to see Santa at the Sears mall. When Santa asked Billy what he wanted for Christmas, Billy said, “An X-Box and a Hobbit game.”

Naming the Twins
A man was taking his wife, who was pregnant with twins, to the hospital when his car went out of control and crashed.

Regaining consciousness, he saw his brother, a relentless practical joker, sitting at his bed side.

He asked his brother how his wife was doing and his brother said, "Don't worry, everybody is fine and you have a son and a daughter.

But the hospital was in a real hurry to

get the birth certificates filed and since both you and your wife were unconscious, I named them for you."

The husband was thinking to himself, "Oh no, what has he done now?" and asked with some hesitation, "Well, what did you name them?"

Whereupon, his brother replied, "I named the little girl Denise."

The husband, relieved, said, "That's a lovely name! And what did you come up with for my son?"

The brother replied, "Denephew."

And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land securely. 6 I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And I will remove harmful beasts from the land, and the sword shall not go through your land.7 You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. 9I will turn to you and make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you. 10 You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall clear out the old to make way for the new. 11 I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people. 13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. And I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect. Leviticus 26:1-13

Comedy Corner: Perfect Woman Once upon a time, a perfect man and a perfect woman met. After a perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Their life was, of course "perfect." One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple was driving their perfect car (a SUV) along a winding road, when they noticed someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple they stopped to help. There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not wanting to disappoint any children on the eve of Christmas, the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys. Unfortunately, the driving conditions deteriorated and the perfect couple and Santa Claus had an accident. Only one of them survived the accident. Who was the survivor? The perfect woman survived. She's the only one who really existed in the first place. Everyone knows there is no Santa Claus and there is no such thing as a perfect man. So, if there is no perfect man and no Santa Claus, the perfect woman must have been driving. This explains why there was an accident.

Weekly Bible Verses In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 (John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) 16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known. John 1:1-18 (ESV)

Most likely Jesus was born on September 29, the same as the date of the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. It would have at least been appropriate for Christ to have been born on such a date, for it was at His birth that ‘the Word was made flesh and dwelt (literally tabernacled) among us’ (John 1:14).

This would mean, then, that His conception took place in late December. Thus, it might well be that when we today celebrate Christ’s birth at what we call Christmas (i.e., ‘Christ sent’), we are actually celebrating His miraculous conception, the time when the Father sent the Son into the world, in the virgin’s womb. This darkest time of the year—the time of the pagan Saturnalia, and the time when the sun (the physical ‘light of the world’) is at its greatest distance from the Holy Land—would surely be an appropriate time for God to send the spiritual ‘light of the world’ into the world as the ‘Savior, which is Christ the Lord’ (Luke 2:11)”

Comedy Corner:

A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gate he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked.

What are all those clocks?

St. Peter answered, Those are lie clocks. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move.

Oh, said the man, Whose clock is that?

Thats Mother Teresa’s. The hands have never moved. concluding that she has never told a lie.

Thats Abraham Lincolns clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us Abe told only 2 lies in his entire life.

Where is Obama’s Clock.

His clock is in Jesus office, He uses it as a ceiling fan. Reviews Feedback ITUNES Review 5 Star by IKNOWHOW2TIEMYSHOES Can’t get enough, Great show!

Doug, I never received the frog lube sample. Maybe someone else needs it more than I do, or it got lost. On a more positive note I got to attend The Sheepdog Seminar here in Charleston.  I highly recommend it to everyone.  I have been trying to slowly introduce my church to the idea of having a security team, and I was able to gather some important information. As a bonus I had the privilege of meeting and getting to listen to Lt. Col. Dave Grossman!   I would love to try FrogLube if you have another sample.  Thanks again for all your work. I love the show. Bible Verse 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. NRA Armed Citizen Veteran halts gas station robbery, WALB, Albany, Ga. 07/17/15

Army veteran Don Rogers was inside a gas station in Sycamore, Ga. when a robber armed with a gun entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. Rogers responded to the threat by drawing a pistol and firing at the thief, striking him twice and causing him to flee. The robber made it to a waiting getaway car, but a short distance later the thief and his accomplice stopped the car and called for medical attention. Police captured the pair a short time later.

Following the incident, Turner County Sheriff Andy Hester commented to a local media outlet, stating, “People are just sick of people running them up… And robbing, and stealing, and pillaging, and people are tired of it. These people that'll go out and do this kind of stuff need to realize- it ain't always gonna fare to their favor, just because they're a predator.” Rogers told the same outlet, “I was hoping nothing like this would ever happen, but I was glad I had my weapon with me.” Rogers added that he thinks every lawful gun owner should carry. Every hour on the hour Two new deer hunters decided to separate to increases their chances. “What if we get lost?” says one of them. “Fire three shots up in the air, every hour on the hour” says the other. “I saw it on TV.” Sure enough, one of the hunters gets lost, so he fires three shots up into the air every hour on the hour. The next day the other hunter finds his friend with the help of the Forest Ranger. “Did you do what I said?” asked the hunter. “Yes, I fired three shots up into the air every hour on the hour, until I ran out of arrows.”

Thanks, Pastor| A deer hunter asked his Pastor if it was a sin to hunt on Sunday. “From what I hear about your aim,” said the Pastor, “It’s a sin for you to hunt any time.”

Bible Verse The Light of the Gospel Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:1-6 ESV

NRA Armed Citizen Kansas' new permitless carry law helps citizen thwart robbers, WIBW, Topeka, Kans. 07/13/15

Joe Tapley was inside the Academy Sports and Outdoors store in Topeka, Kans. when three robbers started stealing firearms and cash from the behind the gun counter. As they made their way outside the store, Tapley confronted the thieves and ordered them to drop the guns. One of the criminals dropped two guns and then all three fled the scene.

Police captured the criminals a short time later and recovered all of the merchandise and money they had stolen. The thieves are facing robbery, burglary and assault charges.

Following the incident, Tapley explained to a local media outlet that he exercises his Right-to-Carry without a permit, following the recent enactment of permitless carry in Kansas. Tapley told a reporter, “That's why Kansas made the law. So citizens can carry and protect themselves and others.” (WIBW, Topeka, Kans. 07/13/15)

Comedy Corner:

A friend was in front of me coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and pulled him aside.

The Pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"

My friend replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor." Pastor questioned, "How come I don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?"

He whispered back, "I'm in the secret service."

Mildred, the church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose in the other members' private lives. Church members were unappreciative of her activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.

She made a mistake, however, when she accused George, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his pickup truck parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon.

She commented to George and others that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.

George, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny; he said nothing.

Later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house... and left it there all night!

NRA Armed Citizen In Albuquerque, Another One of Those "Rare" Self-Defense Shootings

"Guns are rarely used to kill criminals or stop crimes," claims the Violence Policy Center (VPC), led by longtime handgun-ban advocate Josh Sugarmann, formerly of the National Coalition to Ban Handguns.

However, that's something the anti-gun group probably would have a hard time convincing former CNN Headline News anchor Lynne Russell and husband Chuck de Caro to believe. Tuesday night, Russell and de Caro, both carry permit-holders, were attacked in their motel room during a robbery that turned into a gunfight.

The anti-gun Washington Post reports that as de Caro tried to reason with the robber, Russell handed her purse to her husband, with a handgun concealed inside, and when the robber opened fire, de Caro, an Army veteran, did so as well. "My husband returned fire," Russell said. "And he's a better shot." While de Caro was struck three times, the robber was killed.

Fortunately, De Caro, whom Russell called her "hero," is recovering from his wounds. The VPC? Perhaps not so easily. De Caro's and Russell's use of a firearm to stop a crime is just another example that should give pause to anyone inclined to think there's even a shred of truth in what the VPC says.

DEA Agent

A DEA Agent stopped at a ranch in Texas and talked to an old rancher. He told the rancher, “I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs.” The rancher said, “okay, but don’t go into that field over there…”, as he pointed out the location. The DEA Agent verbally exploded and said, “look mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me!” Reaching into his rear back pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher. “See this badge?! This badge means I can go wherever I want… On any land! No questions asked, no answers given! Do you understand old man?!”

The rancher kindly nodded, apologized, and went about his chores. Moments later the rancher heard loud screams, he looked up and saw the DEA agent running for his life, being chased by the ranchers big Santa Gertrudis Bull…… With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it was likely that he’d sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified. The old rancher threw down his tools, ran as fast as he could to the fence, and yelled at the top of his lungs…… “YOUR BADGE! SHOW HIM YOUR  BADGE!”

Listener Feedback Troy and Doug,

I like morale patches, and I have a few from some of the podcasts I listen to.  I  wear them on my hat, and keep them on my backpack to show off the shows I support.  I wanted a God and Guns patch so I had one made.  I used Mutiny Shop ( mutinyshop.com ) since I have used them before for a custom patch for my work.  The patches are quality pvc patches with hook and loop backing.  I attached a photo to show the size and picture quality of the patch.  I like the way the patch turned out, and I would like to send you guys a few.   Let me know what you think, and if you are interested it would be my pleasure to send you some.

I love the show, and may God continue to bless you both.

Thank you, Jeff Bowen

Bible Verse Marks of the True Christian

9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. 12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. NRA Armed Citizen Business owner shoots, kills would-be burglar By St. John Barned-Smith |  May 23, 2015 |  Updated: May 24, 2015 1:48pm

The owner of a trucking company in northeast Houston shot and killed a man trying to steal from  his business Friday night, authorities said. According to Houston police, the owner of the shop in the 8500 block of Westcott near Camay returned to his shop, which is currently still under construction, around 9:45 p.m. and found a man inside trying to steal some items. The two began scuffling, and the business owner, who was armed, pulled out his firearm and shot the man. The burglar was taken to LBJ Hospital in critical condition, where he died. His identity has not yet been released. The business owner was not hurt and has not yet been charged with any crimes, and the case will be referred to a Harris County grand jury, according to Houston Police Department spokesman Kese Smith. The case is still under investigation, he said.

Day After Christmas The pastor was looking over the manger scene the day after Christmas when he noticed that the baby Jesus was missing. He went outside and saw a little boy pulling a new red wagon. In the wagon was Jesus.

We walked up to the boy and said, "Hi, there. Where did you get the baby Jesus?"

The boy answered honestly, "In the church."

"Why did you take him?" the pastor asked.

"Well," said the boy, "I prayed to the Lord Jesus and asked him for a wagon for Christmas. I told Him that if He gave me one, I'd take Him for a ride in it."

Hey guys,  I've been listening to you from day 1.  I look forward for each podcast to come out.  We share the same passions, Christ and Guns.

Keep on sharing the Word and giving Him Glory.

Bible Verses

DO GOOD IN SUFFERING (1 PET. 4:12-19).

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. NRA Armed Citizen Concealed Carrying Pharmacist Saves Multiple Lives In West Virginia

A pharmacist in West Virginia reacted to an armed robber threatening his staff this morning by pulling his concealed handgun and firing “several” shots at the gun-toting robber, dropping the violent suspect in his tracks.

The robbery occurred about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Pharmacy on North Pinch Road, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department. Deputies said a masked male suspect entered the pharmacy and pointed a firearm at the staff. The pharmacist on duty pulled his own firearm that he was carrying concealed and fired the weapon at the suspect. The suspect was struck and fell onto the pharmacy floor. Staff at the pharmacy then began to perform lifesaving measures on the suspect.

The suspect was transported to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital where he was taken into surgery. The suspect did succumb to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Deputies said the name of the deceased will be released at a later time pending notification to the family. Currently, based upon witness interviews and video evidence charges will not be filed against the pharmacist, deputies said. Video Link Here

Certainly less “Salty” than some of the other shows out there. Love the weekly bible lessons and discussions, as well as the discussions on guns and equipment. Like hanging out with some good ol boys on your front porch.

Bible Verses On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him. (Luke 5:1-11) ESV

Remorse is the starting point of repentance, but it is not all repentance entails. Judas, for example, felt remorse after betraying Jesus, but his grief was worldly, leading to death by suicide. Peter, on the other hand, felt remorse after denying Christ, but his grief led to a life on mission for Christ’s kingdom. His repentance and restoration helped to shape him into one of the greatest preachers the world has ever known.

NRA Armed Citizen Right-to-Carry permit holder stops meth-addled carjacker, The Brazil Times, Brazil, Ind. 02/09/15

A man who was high on meth attempted to carjack three different vehicles in Clay County, Ind. before being stopped by a Right-to-Carry permit holder. First, the meth user attempted to gain access to a woman’s car, after which she used cell-phone to alert police. When this failed, the carjacker attempted to enter a vehicle holding three children. The criminal then stuck his hand through the passenger’s window of a third vehicle and attempted to unlock the door. The passenger sitting in the car, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded by retrieving a gun and leveling it at the carjacker, prompting the criminal to flee. Police later captured the meth user at a nearby hotel. (The Brazil Times, Brazil, Ind. 02/09/15)

Troy: God: Daily Devotional, Church Solo, Youth New Year’s Party, Family Time. Guns: Shooting bows with the Kids

Comedy Corner: Three guys had an accident and went straight to heaven. When they got there, St. Peter said, "We only have one rule in heaven. Don't step on the ducks!"

They entered heaven and sure enough there were ducks all over the place. It was almost impossible not to step on a duck and although they tried their best to avoid them the first guy accidentally stepped on one.

Along came St. Peter with the homeliest woman he ever saw. St. Peter chained them together and said, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this homely woman".

The next day, the second guy stepped accidentally on a duck and along came St. Peter, who didn't miss a thing, and with him was another extremely homely woman. He chained them together with the same admonishment as the first.

The third guy had observed all this and not wanting to be chained for all eternity to a horrible looking woman was very careful where he stepped. He managed to go for months without stepping on any ducks. Then one day, St. Peter came up to him with the most gorgeous woman he had ever laid eyes on. St. Peter chained them together without saying a word.

The guy remarked, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all eternity?"

She replied, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck"!

Bible Verses "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. Bible Verses and said to him, “Run, say to that young man, ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of people and livestock in it.  And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the  Lord , and I will be the glory in her midst.’” Zechariah 2:4-5 (ESV)

There will be such prosperity and growth for the people of God that Jerusalem will not be able to be walled in any more. “The multitude of people and livestock” will be so many that Jerusalem will be like many villages spreading out across the land without walls.

Prosperity is nice, but what about protection?

To which God says in Zechariah 2:5, “I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord.” Yes. That’s it. That is the promise. The “I will” of God. That is what I need.

And if it is true for the vulnerable villages of Jerusalem, it is true for me a child of God. God will be a “wall of fire all around me.” Yes. He will. He has been. And he will be.

And it gets better. Inside that fiery wall of protection he says, “And I will be the glory in her midst.” God is never content to give us the protection of his fire; he will give us pleasure of his presence.

Finally, the uncle decided to give them a real treat. "Why don't you grab a gun, take my prized hunting dogs, and go have some fun shooting?" This seemed to cheer the nephew up, and with enthusiasm, off he went, dogs in trail.

After a few hours, the nephew returned.

"How did you enjoy that?" asked the uncle.

"It was great!" exclaimed the nephew. "Got any more dogs?"

Holy Dog

An avid duck hunter was in the market for a new bird dog. His search ended when he found a dog that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by his find, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him. He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, the eternal pessimist who refused to be impressed with anything. This, surely, would impress him.

He invited him to hunt with him and his new dog. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. they fired, and a duck fell. The dog responded and jumped into the water. The dog, however, did not sink but instead walked across the water to retrieve the bird, never getting more than his paws wet. This continued all day long; each time a duck fell, the dog walked across the surface of the water to retrieve it. The pessimist watched carefully, saw everything, but did not say a single word.

On the drive home the hunter asked his friend, "Did you notice anything unusual about my new dog?" "I sure did," responded the pessimist. "He can’t swim!"

Shepherd the Flock of God 1 Peter 5:1-11 (ESV) So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

NRA Armed Citizen

SPOKANE, Wash. -After the third robbery in a month Sunday night, the owner of Spokane's Jitterz Java on Northwest Boulevard has had enough and says the next person to try may end up face to face with a gun.

Sara Chapel says some of her employees are already bringing their own guns to work, no matter what shift they are working. But after Sunday, they were will always be a gun at the coffee stand.

In the most recent burglary, a man aggressively tried to open a window at the stand and appeared to have a gun. The barista kept the window locked, grabbed her gun and called police. The man took off before police arrived.

"It is just a little aggravating, you know, people are just out for themselves these days," said Chapel. "It's just sad to put other people in harms way to just get a few hundred dollars."

Police say the suspect is described as a white man in his 30's, around 5' 10" with a medium build, dark hair and a goatee.
