Bible Verses

THE BODY OF CHRIST IS UNITED... 1. IN THE SPIRIT (1 COR. 12:12-20).

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.” (1 Cor. 12:12-20)

NRA Armed Citizen Right-to-Carry permit holder stops knife-wielding aggressor, KOTV, Tulsa, Okla. 02/18/15

An intoxicated man entered the Debi’s Filling Station restaurant in Okmulgee, Okla., drew a knife and confronted a customer. Another customer, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, took note of the threatening act, drew a gun and told the knife-wielding criminal “put your knife away. I have a gun.” The aggressor fled the restaurant, but was captured just outside the door.

Following the incident, restaurant employee Dayna Rucker told a local media outlet, “in this situation the good guy had the gun and helped diffuse the situation.” (KOTV, Tulsa, Okla. 02/18/15) Support our show by clicking on our banner Links: Join the NRA Join USCCA using our link Amazon Affiliate Link DVOR Link Subscribe to USCCA Magazine Laser Activated Shot Reporter use code GANDG to get 10% discount

Comedy Corner:

Fishing License

Acouple of rednecks were fishing at their special pond off the beaten track when out of the bushes jumped the Game Warden.

Immediately, one of the boys threw his rod down and started running through the woods, and hot on his heels came the Game Warden.

After about a half mile the young man stopped and stooped over with his hands on his thighs to catch his breath and the Game Warden finally caught up to him.

"Let's see yer fishin' license, Boy!!" the Warden gasped.

With that, the fella pulled out his wallet and gave the Game Warden a valid fishing license.

"Well, son," said the Game Warden, "you must be about as dumb as a box of rocks! You don't have to run from me if you have a valid license!"

"Yes, sir," replied the young feller, "But my friend back there, well, he don't have one ..."

The Pig

This redneck was parked behind a trailer load of pigs near the zoo in Washington, DC. As the truck drove away--one of the pigs fell out. He walked over and picked the pig up and placed it in the front seat of his truck.

He was sitting there looking puzzled when a policeman walked up and asked what was going on. He told the story and the policeman recommended he take the pig to the zoo.

The redneck was sitting in the same spot the next day with the pig sitting up in the front seat. The cop said "didn't I ask you to take this pig to the zoo?"

The redneck replied "I did and he liked it so well--today I'm taking him to the movies!"

Subject: Historical Irony

Hey Troy, Hey Doug

Thought I'd share an interesting learning experience I had on vacation. Since our family loves history we had gone to Colonial Williamsburg where they have costumed interpreters who interact with the visitors and describe life in the 1700's. We saw several interpreters on the village green earnestly discussing some grave matter. I asked one of them what the unrest was about. "Good Sir, our gunpowder has gone missing from the magazine." he replied, "Without it we are defenseless, thus we are going hence to Lord Dunmore's residence to address the issue."

The issue (in 1775) it seems was that the man appointed by the Crown as Governor of Virginia, Lord Dunmore, feared the rise of the local colonial militias as a threat to his control of the citizenry. So he had ordered the Royal Marines to take the colonist's gunpowder, and with it their ability to defend themselves, from the magazine during the night with orders to place it on British warships several hours away.

Joining the group of visitors and interpreters I walked to the Governor's Place at the far end of the green where, standing behind two armed British Soldiers, we found "Lord Dunmore".  He explained that in fact he’d had the powder removed for our own safety as there were rumors of a possible slave rebellion. If need be he could return the powder to us within a half hour, but that would not be necessary since well-trained British troops were there to protect us.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Here was a lying government official, himself being well guarded by armed troops, wishing to curtail the freedom of the citizens to defend themselves. He then, by dealing in misinformation and citing vague rumors, tried to convince us that it was for our own good that he had covertly sent agents of the government to remove our means of self-defense. Furthermore we should now look to that same government for both fair treatment and protection from harm.

Talk about your historical irony. Back then such actions kick started a revolution. Just something to think about.

Take care, Dwayne

Weekly Bible Verses

Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.  Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever.  He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the  Lord  is gracious and merciful. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the inheritance of the nations. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy;    they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever.  Holy and awesome is his name!     The fear of the  Lord  is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! Psalm 111:1-10 (ESV)

Resident fights off three home invaders, KRQE, Albuquerque, N.M. 08/20/14

A man was asleep at home in Albuquerque, N.M. when a trio of armed robbers attempted to gain entry to the residence by claiming that they were police. The criminals ultimately broke down the door and got inside the home. The resident responded by retrieving a gun and firing at the home invaders, striking and killing one, and wounding another. The surviving intruders fled the home, but were later captured by police. The surviving home invaders have been charged with the murder of their accomplice. Albuquerque Police Department Public Information Officer Tanner Tixier shared some advice for would be intruders with local media outlet KRQE, stating, “What people need to understand is if you join your buddy to go commit a felony and your buddy dies you can be the one who gets charged with murder.”
