Hello Doug,

First of all, I would like to thank yinz for providing us with the God and Guns podcast. During 2014, I saved GnG programs on my mp3 and made it a point to hear the show during the week.

In February 2015, I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer after a routine physical. My Faith in God was not shaken during last year at all.  After all the chemo infusions, surgeries, warnings of nasty side effects and pain from my Doctors those things never happened. I have felt blessed more than anything.  I am thrilled to add that I have outlived my date of expiration date of September 27, 2015. Instead of feeling woe is me.  I felt more as giving hope for someone else. I have not as of yet been declared  cancer free but I have claimed my healing from the second I was told that I was cancer candidate.

Now that I have started back to work and still under the Doctor's watch. I have once again began downloading the podcast and listen at work.  The only restriction I have now is at work.  My Supervisor told me that if I am not 100% by March that he will have to let me go. Apparently he doesn't know the full power of God.  So stay tune for further Miracles.

Thirty-five years ago, unknown to me, God gave me the insight to buy Cancer Insurance.  Back then it was expensive at a whopping $12.00/month which was a lot back in 1980.  With that policy and company insurance it has been just enough to cover Doctor's bills and hospital cost. Just medicine alone cost $5K/ week.

During my walk, I have found three things that one needs in life. They are, Faith in God, Prayer and Determination.  I live off of Prayer.  I love praying for others as much as being prayed for.

In closing I would like to say is "Pray much and Pray often".  And I tell male and female both, "Don't be a Dope. Get the Scope".

Yinz see.  Yinz thought yinz were going to give away a sample pack of "Frog Lube" but yinz was beguiled into hearing my testimony.  So I figure I win twice.

Weekly Bible Verses:Likewise, just as it was in the days of Lot—they were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building, 29 but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all— 30 so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day, let the one who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away, and likewise let the one who is in the field not turn back. 32 Remember Lot’s wife. 33 Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed. One will be taken and the other left. 35 There will be two women grinding together. One will be taken and the other left.” 37 And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.” Luke 17:28-37 (ESV)

Main TopicThe city of Lowell, Massachusetts has adopted a new law requiring handgun permit applicants to write an essay and pay “upwards of $1,100 in training” to qualify.

Even then, Lowell police superintendent William Taylor “has sole discretion for approving or denying the applications.”

According to Fox News, Taylor pushed the new law and the city council passed it. As a result, applicants now have to write an essay and “state in writing why they should receive” a handgun license.

Gun Owners Action League of Massachusetts executive director Jim Wallace said, “It is absurd that people should have to write an essay to the town to explain why they should be able to exercise their constitutional rights. We already have a very strict set of gun laws in the state, but this is way over the top.” And Lowell resident Dan Gannon told the City Council, “I will never write an essay to get my rights as an American citizen.”

But Lowell Police spokesman Capt. Timothy Crowley defended the law, suggesting it is a mischaracterization to refer to the written requirement as an “essay.” He said, “If you want a license to carry a firearm unrestricted wherever you want and whenever you want, the superintendent is just looking for some documentation as to why. That is not unreasonable to most people.”

In addition to the essay requirement, residents who want a handgun permit have to pay “upwards of $1,100 in training” fees.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii gun owners would be required to have insurance for their firearms and renew their gun registrations every five years under a bill introduced Wednesday at the State Legislature, proposals that gun advocates said are unneeded and would have a chilling effect on constitutional gun rights.

The proposal, introduced by State Sen. Josh Green (D – Kona, Ka’u) would require gun owners to obtain firearms liability insurance from private insurance companies.  Hawaii would be the first state in the country to enact such a requirement, if lawmakers and the governor approve of the law.

"I don't want to take people's guns away from them but I want people to take full responsibility," said Green, an emergency room physician at Kohala Hospital on the Big Island.

Green likens the requirement to car insurance.

"They have to pay insurance so that if they're in a collision and they hurt someone else who's an innocent bystander, it's covered. Just like with guns, if a gun falls into the wrong hands or if there's an accident, just an accident, it makes a lot of sense to me that we have that extra level of responsibility," Green said.

Bill Richter, secretary of the Hawaii Rifle Association, said, "Any time you mandate something on a core constitutional, fundamental right, it has the effect of chilling that right and the exercise thereof, so we really don't think it's a good idea."

Richter and insurance experts said homeowners and renters insurance would already cover accidents involving someone's firearms, even if gun incidents happen outside their home. Purposeful criminal activity would not be covered by liability insurance of any kind, Richter said.

Green's proposal would also require gun owners to renew their registrations every five years. Right now, that gun registration is good for life without taking into consideration changing medical or mental conditions of gun owners.

"Imagine if someone has become blind over the years, should they have a gun? Imagine if someone's had psychiatric illness from drug addiction," Green said.

The five-year renewal requirement would require 200,000 guns being re-registered in Hawaii each year, about ten times more registrations than are processed annually now.

"The workload is going to be incredibly high, it's going to be difficult to maintain and how are we going to pay for it?" Richter said.

Green admitted the proposal won’t be easy to get through the legislature and could take years to be approved.

"A bill this controversial and this unique usually does take a few years.  But I want people talking about it now so that if we have to do something we don't do it on the fly. That we've had good dialogue," Green said.

But Richter said Hawaii already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country and very low instances of gun violence, so further restrictions are not needed.

"Hawaii requires everybody to get a permit to acquire.  Requires training, 8-hour training course in order to purchase a handgun. Every transfer has to go through HPD. (Honolulu Police Department)  So there are more than enough controls," Richter said.

Bible Verse Put On the New Self

1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. NRA Armed Citizen Store owner uses semi-automatic rifle to repel armed robbers, WISN, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15, WITI, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15

Rami Murrar, owner of Bouchard’s clothing store in Milwaukee, Wisc., was tending to his establishment when at around 4 a.m. a van smashed into the security doors and concrete posts protecting his store. A daring organized heist; after the van broke through the doors, three armed men attempted to gain access to the store. Murrar responded to the threat by retrieving a semi-automatic rifle and firing at the armed intruders, striking one and causing all to flee. A short time later police caught up with one of the suspected robbers at a local hospital.

Following the incident, Murrar told a local news outlet, “It was a lot of guys out there. So I believe if they would've gotten through that door, I would've been dead, so that's the reason I reached for my gun.” Despite his successful experience with armed self-defense, Murrar made clear he did not relish the position he was placed in and showed mercy towards his attackers, stating, “I'm glad the guy made it. Again, I didn't come to work that night or that day to kill somebody, so I hope he recovers from what happened, and he learns a lesson and be a good message for all the young guys out there." (WISN, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15, WITI, Milwaukee, Wis. 07/27/15)

Non Spelling Deputy

The county sheriff was working a christmas night with a deputy that wasn't the best at paperwork.

A call came in and there was a 2 car wreck with fatalities. The deputy begged the sheriff to let him work the wreck. he promised he would not spell anything wrong. The sheriff agreed to give him a chance.

As he got to the scene he got out his clipboard.

The deputy said, Over here we have a ford, that F-O-R-D, in the ditch, that D-I-T-C-H. and over in the other ditch, thats D-I-T-C-H, there is a chevy, thats C-H-E-V-Y. As he finished surveying the scene he realized that someone had been decapitated.

The Deputy says, over here we have a Head, thats H-E-A-D, and it is laying in the middle of the boulevard, that B-O-U, B-E-O, and kicks the head as hard as he can, In the D-I-T-C-H.

iTunes Review Great Show 5 Stars from BradJonesBass Feb 7th 2015

Certainly less “Salty” than some of the other shows out there. Love the weekly bible lessons and discussions, as well as the discussions on guns and equipment. Like hanging out with some good ol boys on your front porch.

Bible Verses On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, and he saw two boats by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people from the boat. And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him. (Luke 5:1-11) ESV

Remorse is the starting point of repentance, but it is not all repentance entails. Judas, for example, felt remorse after betraying Jesus, but his grief was worldly, leading to death by suicide. Peter, on the other hand, felt remorse after denying Christ, but his grief led to a life on mission for Christ’s kingdom. His repentance and restoration helped to shape him into one of the greatest preachers the world has ever known.

NRA Armed Citizen Right-to-Carry permit holder stops meth-addled carjacker, The Brazil Times, Brazil, Ind. 02/09/15

A man who was high on meth attempted to carjack three different vehicles in Clay County, Ind. before being stopped by a Right-to-Carry permit holder. First, the meth user attempted to gain access to a woman’s car, after which she used cell-phone to alert police. When this failed, the carjacker attempted to enter a vehicle holding three children. The criminal then stuck his hand through the passenger’s window of a third vehicle and attempted to unlock the door. The passenger sitting in the car, a Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded by retrieving a gun and leveling it at the carjacker, prompting the criminal to flee. Police later captured the meth user at a nearby hotel. (The Brazil Times, Brazil, Ind. 02/09/15)
