Comedy Corner: A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below. She shouts to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consults his portable GPS and replies, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolls her eyes and says, "You must be a Republican!"

"I am," replies the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me."

The man smiles and responds, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am, replies the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," says the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."

Also I thought it would be a great show if you could do one on 3 gun competitions.  Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work and love the podcast.

Pregnancy Humor Brian’s stress level was at unsurpassed levels. His wife Maggie was in labor and Brian was sure it was time to head to the hospital. Breathing heavily, Brian grabbed the phone and called the doctor. “MY WIFE, SHE’S READY, SHOULD WE COME?” The doctor tried to relax the poor fellow, “just try to relax, now tell me how much time elapses between the contractions?” “SHIRLEY!” Brian screamed on the top of his lungs, “HOW MUCH TIME IN BETWEEN THE CONTRACTIONS? TEN MINUTES? OK, TEN MINUTES IN BETWEEN!” “And is this her first child?” Questioned the doctor. “NO YOU STUPID NITWIT, THIS IS HER HUSBAND!”

Thomas M. B. Troy,

I enjoyed your interview with Stewart Rhodes, thank you for another great episode that was just full of usable information. I just wanted to mention something about "A Failure of Civility", the book he recommended. It is out of print, however instead of paying $200 on Amazon, you can order directly from the authors for approximately $45 (including shipping). This is from their website, "afailureofcivility.com".

This book has rave reviews, I can't wait to read it & wanted to make sure folks know it is still available. I will update you on it after I have read it - by the way, have you read it?

PS - I have an H&K VP9 on order from my friend at BudsGunShop.Com - the "LE" model with tritium night sights & 3 mags. I will let you know how it is once it gets in & I have a chance to shoot it. Did Doug mention that he has one?

Enjoy the podcast as always!

God bless,

Tom

Bible Verse The Vanity of Wealth and Honor

8 If you see in a province the oppression of the poor and the violation of justice and righteousness, do not be amazed at the matter, for the high official is watched by a higher, and there are yet higher ones over them. 9 But this is gain for a land in every way: a king committed to cultivated fields.

10He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.11 When goods increase, they increase who eat them, and what advantage has their owner but to see them with his eyes? 12 Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep.

13 There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt, 14 and those riches were lost in a bad venture. And he is father of a son, but he has nothing in his hand. 15 As he came from his mother’s womb he shall go again, naked as he came, and shall take nothing for his toil that he may carry away in his hand. 16 This also is a grievous evil: just as he came, so shall he go, and what gain is there to him who toils for the wind? 17 Moreover, all his days he eats in darkness in much vexation and sickness and anger.

18 Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of his life that God has given him, for this is his lot. 19 Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God. 20 For he will not much remember the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with joy in his heart. Ecclesiastes 5:8-20 (ESV)

Michael Litton Hi Troy and Doug,

I listen to you guys every week at work and enjoy your podcast. Most of all I enjoy that you all talk about God and guns which are two of my favorite subjects.

Because of your program I have devoted myself to listening to an audio version of the bible every day along with a devotional. I also enjoy listening to sermons of different preachers. There is nothing like listening and talking to God every day.

If you wouldn't mind keeping my family in prayer as my Wife lost her job in Oct. thanks to a great church and loving Grandparents, we were able to give our kids a great Christmas.

My Wife currently has application out and could possibly be picked up with the post office. I know God has everything in control and he has given us peace during this time.

Thank you for all that you guys do and it would be great to meet you all some day. I have family in Newman Georgia. I am not sure how far that is from you Doug.

Thanks again and God Bless, Mike

James Morgan Hey Troy if you still haven't given away your Duck Commander Devotional please keep me in mind. I am a week behind because of the holidays. Keep up love the 'cast and God has blessed me through you guys.

Joshua Southwell I want to say a couple of things that I have been in my mind about God and Guns. Without God I would have nothing. I have turned my life over to his care and it has taken weight off my shoulders. I have been trying to get my wife to go to church but have not been successful to this point, so I get my God fix by listening to Bishop T.d. Jakes his words have helped a lot in my relationship getting to know better. I am still working on being a good Christian but I do struggle. The other thing I think u could even talk about on the show if you're so inclined is teaching ur kids and ur responsibility to teach others about gun safety. The reason I think about this is because I just recently have bought my little cousin who is 5 a BB gun as I have for all my kids. Long story short there was a conversation between his mother and him why he could not shoot his gun up in the air and his mother kind of made a joke of it. When she told me this I had her tell him u do not shoot at or point your firearms at anything you don't plan to kill or plan on eating. I have taught all my kids to respect guns and to use them safely. My youngest who is 8 knows to respect all firearms and knows the do's or don'ts of safety. I had thought my cousin mother and his father would be better at teaching her child to respect firearms since we was both taught by the same family. It is our responsibility and duty to take the time to teach safety and by doing that showing the fun but serious nature of shooting sports can be. I have carried a firearm for work for 15 years as a security officer (paying for my own training most time). My youngest is use to seeing me carry a firearm she and other kids and some adults have had questions and I feel it is my duty to answer those questions as best as I can. Sorry so long but I am passionate about teaching safety and love to take the time to talk about it I think it would make a good show. My 2 cents

What are your thoughts on programs like US Law Shield, CCW Safe, USCCA, etc.? I shutter that the thought of financial ruin if, God forbid, some dirt bag forces me to use my gun to defend my life or the lives of my family.

I have been looking into the various plans offered and cannot decide between US Law Shield or CCW Safe. Would you suggest one company over the other?

Tim

Bible Verses And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great trembling fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves. So I was left alone and saw this great vision, and no strength was left in me. My radiant appearance was fearfully changed, and I retained no strength. Then I heard the sound of his words, and as I heard the sound of his words, I fell on my face in deep sleep with my face to the ground. And behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for now I have been sent to you.” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling. Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia,  and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come.” When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and was mute.  And behold, one in the likeness of the children of man touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke. I said to him who stood before me, “O my lord, by reason of the vision pains have come upon me, and I retain no strength.  How can my lord’s servant talk with my lord? For now no strength remains in me, and no breath is left in me.” Again one having the appearance of a man touched me and strengthened me.  And he said, “O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.” Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? But now I will return to fight against the prince of Persia; and when I go out, behold, the prince of Greece will come.  But I will tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except Michael, your prince. Daniel 10:7-21 (ESV)
