Guns: EDC. I was Down in Florida last weekend. Stopped in a couple gun shops to look around. If your ever in PCB and want some good sea food, Stop in Lynn Haven Florida and see my new friend Phil at Crawdad’s Family Seafood. A little out off the beaten path but great food. Those are usually the best places. Went to the gun range today with some friends Shot a couple new guns. I actually had a failure on one of my AR’s. I had never done it before but I broke an extractor on my AR Pistol I built. Easy fix but the first time. Had to change to shoot my Glock 21 and its a shooter.

Smarter than Einstein
At the conclusion of the sermon, the worshipers filed out of the sanctuary to greet the preacher. As one of them left, he shook the preacher's hand, thanked him for the sermon and said, "Thanks for the message, Preacher. You know, you must be smarter than Einstein." Beaming with pride, the preacher said, "Why, thank you, brother!"

As the week went by, the preacher began to think about the man's compliment. The more he thought, the more he became baffled as to why anyone would deem him smarter than Einstein. So he decided to ask the man the following Sunday.

The next Sunday he asked the member if he remembered the previous Sunday's comment about the sermon. The member replied that he did. The preacher asked: "Exactly what did you mean that I must be smarter than Einstein?"

The man replied, "Well, Preacher, they say that Einstein was so smart that only ten people in the entire world could understand him. But Preacher, no one can understand you."

Listener Feedback
Hey Troy I listened to my first podcast from y'all and it was the security one. You talked about having the stickers print out for the kids check-in and some parents throwing it away. Well my wife and I are the children's church coordinators at the church we attend and what we do is when the sticker is printed out we let the parents now that they have to bring the sticker back to the children's area after service. We put the sticker on the room roster and the parent has to sign that they picked up the child. Also we use the numbers/letters that print on the stickers as our way of contacting the parent if needed. We put the number up on the monitors in the church at the bottom of it asking that parent with that child number please come to the children's area...

I am going to start listening to other podcast as I get the chance. Reason I was drawn to this one is we are in the process of building our security team to have enough members to rotate people.

I really enjoyed listening to you guys and hope to be able to get some patches or maybe some stickers soon.. thanks for y'alls insight and keep it up!

Thank You!

Just listened to your last episode on church security. One suggestion I might make is get an app called "GroupMe" on all of your security team members smartphones, set up a group called "Church Security" or the like and add all the members into that group. It's like chat room text messaging, anyone posts a message into that group and it goes to all members phones with a notification like a text message. This will allow you to alert your team en mass and will prevent 3 or 4 from individually texting you asking "whats going on?". This will save you tons of time. I'm a volunteer firefighter for my local community and we use this app and group in our department, for responding to calls and telling each other when we are "in service" and "out of service"

so it's much easier to let everyone know something all at once. Hope this helps!

Weekly Bible Verses:
One of David's Mighty Men
22 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was a valiant man of Kabzeel, a doer of great deeds. He struck down two heroes of Moab. He also went down and struck down a lion in a pit on a day when snow had fallen. 23 And he struck down an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits tall (8’:7-8”). The Egyptian had in his hand a spear like a weaver's beam, but Benaiah went down to him with a staff and snatched the spear out of the Egyptian's hand and killed him with his own spear. 24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada and won a name beside the three mighty men. 25 He was renowned among the thirty, but he did not attain to the three. And David set him over his bodyguard. 1 Chronicles 11:22-25 (ESV)

Two killed in Athens-area home invasion
By Rich Flowers, Athens Review
Mar 13, 2017

Two men were shot and killed Sunday near Athens after they invaded a home and attempted to rob two residents, according to Henderson County Sheriff's Office reports.

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said the deceased are Steven Kelley, 49, of Winona and Cecil Spain, 31, of Grand Saline.

The residents of the house were slightly injured in the confrontation that occurred shortly after 4 p.m. in the 2800 block of Hopson Drive

“It was a home invasion and attempted robbery that went very bad,” Hillhouse said. “The assailants entered the residence under the pretext that they were customers. The two men posed as customers looking to purchase a dog from a man and woman at their Athens-area residence.”

The couple was physically restrained and suffered minor injuries during the home invasion. Both deceased men were armed with handguns during the home invasion.

The deceased were identified with the assistance of the Mesquite Police Department, Crime Scene Unit’s fingerprint analyst Detective Aaron Martin.

Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Milton Adams conducted an inquest at the scene and ordered the deceased to be sent to American Forensics in Mesquite for an autopsy.

Henderson County 392nd District Judge Scott McKee issued a search warrant for the residence. Officers spent several hours at the home gathering evidence. Hillhouse said the HCSO has a vehicle thought to be the one driven by the alleged robbers in its possession.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson County District Attorney’s Office, and the Texas Rangers are investigating the case.

Though the residents sustained only minor injuries in the confrontation, they are dealing with the emotional impact of the incident.

“They're fine,” Hillhouse said. “It was traumatic, but they're holding it together.”

Hillhouse said it's been a long time since Henderson County had an incident where someone had been killed in a robbery or break-in attempt.
