Late For Class
A little girl, dresses in her "Sunday best" was late and running to her Sunday school class. As she ran, she prayed, "Dear God, please don't let me be late. Dear God, please don't let me be late." Then she fell.
She got up, dusted herself off and saw that her dress was now dirty and had a little tear. She started running again, still praying, "Dear God, please don't let me be late." But this time she added, "But please don't push me, either!"
A woman in her 50s was driving with a friend. She went through a red light. The friend didn't say anything. But then she went through another one. The friend said, "Do you realize you just went through two red lights?"
"Oh," she said, "was I driving?"
From: Michael Chan Subject: Feedback Dear Troy and Doug,
Thanks for your show, guys. I've been listening for quite a while now and appreciate your willingness to engage with the (sometimes) thorny issues that emerge at the intersection of guns and faith. The last interview with Dr. Baldwin was particularly interested. As a Christian gun owner, who also happens to be a professor of Old Testament, I always appreciate it when people are willing to deal with these challenging topics from a faith perspective. You guys do this with sincerity, rigor, and joy. Thank you.

Was slowly warming up to this show until the seemingly funny story about one of the guys putting their wife up a bobcat bucket with a chainsaw cutting branches at night in shorts and flip flops!! Funny? NO! This is the most irresponsible dangerous thing that I can think of for a husband to get his wife to do! Really very sad as this feeds some peoples stereotypes of a "dumb Christian bumbkin". No different than checking if your barrel is obstructed before checking if it is unloaded first! Count me out, I will support a podacst that has safety foremost and enough care and love for his wife not to put her into such a dangerous situation.
Weekly Bible Verses
Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Then Peter said in reply, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first. Matthew 19: 24-30 (ESV)
Bye Bye Eric Holder
- In 1997, Holder made history yet again when President Clinton nominated him to be the deputy attorney general.
- Holder previously served as a judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and a United States Attorney.
- In September 2012, after a nineteen month review, the United States Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General cleared the Attorney General of any other wrongdoing with regard to Fast and Furious, stating that there was "no evidence" that Holder knew about the operation before early 2011.
- National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2012 Indefinite detention of American Citizens without charges and reason.
- In 2011, the attorney general said he won’t defend Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which rules that federal interpretation of “marriage” applies only to heterosexual couples. Last year, Holder told ABC News, “From my perspective, [gay marriage] is really the latest civil-rights issue.” So when six state attorneys general said they would not defend laws that ban gay marriage, Holder did not step in. Instead, Holder said they didn’t have to defend the laws if they believed they were unconstitutional.

Store manager uses gun to defend employees, KPRC, Houston, Texas, 09/20/14
A man armed with a gun entered Burt’s Meat Market in Houston, Texas and demanded money from the teenage clerk on duty. When the clerk didn’t produce the money fast enough, the criminal fired a shot. Store manager J.L. Nickel, who was in a nearby office, became aware of the robbery, retrieved a gun and fired at the robber. One of Nickel’s shots struck the thief, prompting him to flee.
