God and Guns Podcast
Episode 002 - Getting wives involved in shooting
Welcome back to the God and Guns Podcast. My name’s Mike, your host, (Zack) And I’m Zack, your other host.
Zack and I use this podcast to talk about God, guns, and the responsible Christian gun owners interests.
Today we’ll be talking about getting our wives interested in shooting.
-Obviously girlfriends, mothers, sisters, and girls that are friends would be included as well.
There were 11 people hanging on to a rope that came down from a helicopter. Ten were men and one woman. They all decided that one person should get off because if they didn't, the rope would break and everyone would die. No one could decide who should go. Finally the woman gave a really touching speech on how she would give up her life to save the others, because women were used to giving up things for their husbands and children.
All of the men started clapping.
Chuck Norris Corner:
Chuck Norris doesn’t call the wrong number. You answer the wrong phone.
There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed b/c No one crosses Chuck Norris and lives.
Chuck Norris Has a grizzly bear carpet in his livingroom. The bear isn’t dead it is just afraid to move.
Chuck Norris once urinate in a semi truck’s gas tank as a joke... that truck is now known as Optimus Prime.
Weekly Bible Verse:
“A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.” (NIV)
What are the main objections wives/women give?
-Guns are intimidating.
-General disinterest - not a typical woman's hobby.
-They think they are unsafe to have around kids
How should a man respond to objections?
-With patience, and understand that she is uncomfortable.
-Don’t get frustrated.
-Make it about her and the kids. She needs to know how to use the best tool to defend herself. She is responsible for protecting the family when you’re not around.
-Get her a pink gun.
How should a man respond to eagerness?
-Take full advantage of the situation before it changes.
-Take her to a range that rents guns and let her pick one she likes.
-Make safety a priority!
What steps should be taken when teaching your wife how to shoot?
-Make safety a priority!
-Start with 1 bullet. You never know how she might respond when the gun goes off.
-Don’t make her clean the guns (yet!).
How can we make it more interesting for them?
-Make lessons short and sweet. Show her how to load, shoot, and clear the chamber safely. She can lose interest if you cover all the mechanical features of the gun. -Story from Abby- I was gone and the doorbell rang at 11:00pm. She got the gun out and kept it next to her.
Mike: Thanks to the AR-15 Podcast on the Firearms Radio Network I was introduced to the Israel Weapon Industries TAVOR (IWI CTAR).
Chris from Georgia sent feedback through the website. He says, “Hey guys great podcast! I'm from Clarkesville Georgia 15 min from Toccoa Falls. Never thought I would see the day or hear, my two favorite subjects talked about in a podcast!!! Thank you so much for spreading the word of Jesus and the responsibility of gun ownership. Your first podcast made me really think about the consequences of pulling the trigger if my family or I were in a life or death situation, personally I would for the very reasons you have stated. I think this country needs a lot more moral values instilled in order to keep on moving forward and y'all give me inspiration! Thanks and God Bless!”
mikeandmelli says, “Hey guys, This is an awesome idea to make a podcast on. Being passionate about the Lord and guns, this brings them together seamlessly. Even though there is one episode thus far, having listened to it and other podcasts in the network since the beginning I am confident that God and Guns is yet another success.
FirePowerGirl31 says, “The content was so good, and entertaining! You guys rock!”
