F2FHQ 068 - Jay Charvoz of Health Nuts Anonymous

Ice blocks on your bare chest?  Butter in your coffee?  I'd say Jay Charvoz qualifies as a Health Nut.  And we can all get inspired by his jovial look at his positive look at health and fitness and what he has learned in his journey.

Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. I’m your host, Carol Salva of the Firearms Radio Network and along with me is Jay Charvoz of the Health Nuts Anonymous podcast.  In this podcast we are chronicling our journeys from Fat to Fit.  We talk about pursuing a healthier lifestyle not only in diet, but in all areas of life.

THANK YOU Firearms Radio Network for sponsoring the bandwidth of this show!

TOPIC:

Jay Charvoz of Health Nuts Anonymous podcast  Jay is one of those people who fascinate you with his current knowledge on Health and Fitness.  Jay’s experience comes from years of trying things with varying degrees of success.  This makes for some interesting stories!  Listen in this week as we learn from one of the creators and hosts of the new podcast “Heath Nuts Anonymous.”  The premise of his show is highlighting some of the crazy things folks will try in the name of health while also keeping a focus on the latest science and trends in wellness.

From Jay’s website: "I like going to local parks on sunny days, ditching my shoes, and throwing some kettle bells around like I own the place. I also regularly enjoy feasting on high quality bacon and drinking coffee with ungodly amounts of butter mixed in. On a more serious note, I am passionate about health and fitness, and love sharing what I've learned with others.”

FEEDBACK:

Email from Andrew Delvard:   Hi Carol.  Like many others I just want to say how grateful I am for all those super fat2fit podcasts. I love your enthusiasm and approach. Listening to several of your podcasts I've noticed you mention your own personal weight gain and how you make selective changes to combat that. Do you think you should also be looking at what you are actually gaining? Is it fat? Muscle? Water? A combination?  Just some food for thought. No pun intended.  Stay healthy :)

Andrew:  Thank you so much for listening to the show!  I appreciate the kind words and for taking time to write us.  Your question about what I'm gaining is a GREAT one.  I certainly should be considering that every pound gained or lost is not necessarily a pound of fat.  I am pretty aware of when I gain water.   I also know that muscle weighs more than fat so you make a great point about the scale being misleading sometimes.  *Unfortunately* I had not done much strength training in a while so it was a good bet that I wasn't putting on muscle.  Good news though!  I have started strength training again so I am just going to forget that scale for a while and use other measures.  Your email spurs me on to keep this up!  Thanks Andrew!  And thanks again for your support of F2F!  - Carol
