Juice Fasting,  Challenge Week 5 and Hungry For Change Review.  This week Carol and Zack review the documentary Hungry for Change.  We discuss the film, starting a juice fast and weight loss plateaus.  There have been a few hiccups along the way but Zack and Jake are still at it.  Listen to this week’s episode to see how the F2F trio are handling recent obstacles in weight loss.

Week in Review:

Zack: Wagon wheels fell off and are laying smoldering on the trail somewhere.

Carol: Disappointed that I didn't lose weight after walking MILES through theme parks pushing a stroller over several days.  All clean food too.  I'm thinking there may have been too much clean food.

Where we started our journeys: Zack 278.2 lbs(Challenge 267.3), Jake 228 lbs (Challenge 221), Carol 145 lbs (Challenge 121.5)

Jake: 206.8 6.42% down

Zack: 251.2 6.02% down

Carol: 123  up

Zack: Finally broke down and bought a juicer, I’ll regret not trying if I don’t. Who know’s it may be just the ticket. I’ve found myself not eating as many vegetables as I was before.

Carol: I enjoyed the film and felt that about 95% of it was dead on accurate on eating clean and getting more real food. I think these are my people (sorry Zack).

Tips of the week:  

Zack: Don’t go on a fishing trip when you are on a diet!

Carol: Consult with your doctor before trying anything new for your health.  I love a juice fast to get lots of veggies I wouldn't eat otherwise, to kick addictions and to reset my taste for things.  If you try a juice fast for weight loss, be realistic.  Know that a few lbs of weight loss will be water (lack of sodium) and the weight of solid foods will also drop off after a couple of days.  Expect to put back on a few pounds as soon as you break your fast because of these and other factors.  That said... let’s juice!

Next Show:  Zack and Carol should be on day 4 of the juice fast.  We’ll check in to see how they are feeling at that point.
