This week we talk about the movie Fat Head, and our weight loss with Paleo and Low Carb. Welcome to the Fat2FitHQ podcast. This is Zack and Jake from GunGuyRadio and here we plan to chronicle our journeys from fat to fit. Week in Review Weigh In BEGINNING: Zack 278.2, Jake 228 LAST WEEK: Zack 265.7, Jake 219.6 This week: Zack- 262.2 DOWN 3.5 lbs.. (down 16 overall) whoo hoo went to doctor, he says I’m down 12lbs from last visit (1 month) He’s happy with my progress. I’m going to cut down carbs though a bit. Jake- 215.4 Down 4.2lbs (12.6 overall) 6 days on Paleo - Maintained about 90% Paleo diet, feeling great. Went into gas station looking for something paleo..... New snack - Baby carrots

  • Goes out for pizza the 1st night lol
  • Fellow illinoisan (didn’t he live in CA though now)
  • 2000 calories a day
  • walking 6 nights a week
  • keeping his carbohydrates to 100 per day to keep insulin down
  • snacking is a huge culprit
  • Our lives are free of physical activity
  • Weight gain sign of our success
  • 2nd Hand obesity lol
  • Most americans have gained 8 to 10lbs
  • Processed vegetable oils are bad

FEEDBACK: Ty Clark: Hello Jake and Zack- Wanted to pass on my feedback.  I started listening to Gun Guy Radio and then your Fat 2 Fit HQ started showing up in my Google Listen so I listened to them too.  In June I shot at the Missouri State IDPA match, between the heat we’ve been having and the extra weight I had my worst match since I started shooting sanctioned matches.  That was enough to finally get me motivated to loose some weight and listening to your podcasts has helped.  I’m about 5’10” and on June 11th I weighed 238 pounds, this morning I weighed in at 216 pounds.  I’ve lost the weight by following a low carb/Atkins style diet.  I’m avoiding sugars, bread, rice, pasta etc. mainly eating meat, vegetables and nuts.  Like Jake mentioned there is no way I can avoid eating meat.  So far it has worked for me and my goal is to get below 200 pounds.  I’ll be shooting the USPSA Area 3 Championship next weekend in Grand Island Nebraska hopefully the weight I’ve dropped will help me be more competitive at the match. I would leave you all a review but I do not and refuse to own any Apple product and don’t use itunes so you’ll just have to settle for my email .  Keep up the good work.

Personally, I'd love to see the two of you execute "dueling" experiments - one with Paleo and one with a 4-Hour-Body protocol (slow carb).  I'd tune in weekly to hear about your progress.
