Smarter than Einstein
At the conclusion of the sermon, the worshipers filed out of the sanctuary to greet the preacher. As one of them left, he shook the preacher's hand, thanked him for the sermon and said, "Thanks for the message, Preacher. You know, you must be smarter than Einstein." Beaming with pride, the preacher said, "Why, thank you, brother!"

As the week went by, the preacher began to think about the man's compliment. The more he thought, the more he became baffled as to why anyone would deem him smarter than Einstein. So he decided to ask the man the following Sunday.

The next Sunday he asked the member if he remembered the previous Sunday's comment about the sermon. The member replied that he did. The preacher asked: "Exactly what did you mean that I must be smarter than Einstein?"

The man replied, "Well, Preacher, they say that Einstein was so smart that only ten people in the entire world could understand him. But Preacher, no one can understand you."

Listener Feedback
Hey Troy I listened to my first podcast from y'all and it was the security one. You talked about having the stickers print out for the kids check-in and some parents throwing it away. Well my wife and I are the children's church coordinators at the church we attend and what we do is when the sticker is printed out we let the parents now that they have to bring the sticker back to the children's area after service. We put the sticker on the room roster and the parent has to sign that they picked up the child. Also we use the numbers/letters that print on the stickers as our way of contacting the parent if needed. We put the number up on the monitors in the church at the bottom of it asking that parent with that child number please come to the children's area...

I am going to start listening to other podcast as I get the chance. Reason I was drawn to this one is we are in the process of building our security team to have enough members to rotate people.

I really enjoyed listening to you guys and hope to be able to get some patches or maybe some stickers soon.. thanks for y'alls insight and keep it up!

Thank You!
David Seal

Troy,

Just listened to your last episode on church security. One suggestion I might make is get an app called "GroupMe" on all of your security team members smartphones, set up a group called "Church Security" or the like and add all the members into that group. It's like chat room text messaging, anyone posts a message into that group and it goes to all members phones with a notification like a text message. This will allow you to alert your team en mass and will prevent 3 or 4 from individually texting you asking "whats going on?". This will save you tons of time. I'm a volunteer firefighter for my local community and we use this app and group in our department, for responding to calls and telling each other when we are "in service" and "out of service"

so it's much easier to let everyone know something all at once. Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Chris

Weekly Bible Verses:
One of David's Mighty Men
22 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was a valiant man of Kabzeel, a doer of great deeds. He struck down two heroes of Moab. He also went down and struck down a lion in a pit on a day when snow had fallen. 23 And he struck down an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits tall (8’:7-8”). The Egyptian had in his hand a spear like a weaver's beam, but Benaiah went down to him with a staff and snatched the spear out of the Egyptian's hand and killed him with his own spear. 24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada and won a name beside the three mighty men. 25 He was renowned among the thirty, but he did not attain to the three. And David set him over his bodyguard. 1 Chronicles 11:22-25 (ESV)

Two killed in Athens-area home invasion
By Rich Flowers, Athens Review
Mar 13, 2017

Two men were shot and killed Sunday near Athens after they invaded a home and attempted to rob two residents, according to Henderson County Sheriff's Office reports.

Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said the deceased are Steven Kelley, 49, of Winona and Cecil Spain, 31, of Grand Saline.

The residents of the house were slightly injured in the confrontation that occurred shortly after 4 p.m. in the 2800 block of Hopson Drive

“It was a home invasion and attempted robbery that went very bad,” Hillhouse said. “The assailants entered the residence under the pretext that they were customers. The two men posed as customers looking to purchase a dog from a man and woman at their Athens-area residence.”

The couple was physically restrained and suffered minor injuries during the home invasion. Both deceased men were armed with handguns during the home invasion.

The deceased were identified with the assistance of the Mesquite Police Department, Crime Scene Unit’s fingerprint analyst Detective Aaron Martin.

Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Milton Adams conducted an inquest at the scene and ordered the deceased to be sent to American Forensics in Mesquite for an autopsy.

Henderson County 392nd District Judge Scott McKee issued a search warrant for the residence. Officers spent several hours at the home gathering evidence. Hillhouse said the HCSO has a vehicle thought to be the one driven by the alleged robbers in its possession.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson County District Attorney’s Office, and the Texas Rangers are investigating the case.

Though the residents sustained only minor injuries in the confrontation, they are dealing with the emotional impact of the incident.

“They're fine,” Hillhouse said. “It was traumatic, but they're holding it together.”

Hillhouse said it's been a long time since Henderson County had an incident where someone had been killed in a robbery or break-in attempt.

Bus Crash
A bus full of ugly people had a head on collision with a truck. When they died, God granted all of them one wish. The first person said, "I want to be gorgeous." God snapped his fingers and it happened. The second person said the same thing and God did the same thing. This want on and on throughout the group. God noticed the last man in line was laughing hysterically. By the time God got to the last ten people, the last man was laughing and rolling on the ground. When the man's turn came, he laughed and said, "I wish they were all ugly again."

Boise woman scares off attempted carjacker with pistol: 'It was shock and fear'

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — A woman saved herself from a dangerous situation with her pistol kept in her car Monday.

"I couldn't believe it, it was shock and fear," said the unidentified woman.

It happened at the corner of west Kootenai and south Hilton streets. A woman just dropped off her 9-year-old daughter Monday morning around 7:30 a.m. She was driving alone when a man jumped out in front of her car. She slammed on the brakes and it stalled.

"He came to the driver's side door of my car and opened it and demanded my keys and my purse and when I refused to give it to him he started hitting me in the head multiple times," the woman said.

The would-be carjacker refused to give up.

"He got my face once, and my forehead once, and when that didn't work he grabbed my hair and began pulling me out of my car and I finally said 'OK, OK, that's enough stop! I'll give you my purse,” said the woman.

So he did. That’s when the woman got the upper hand.

“When I turned to give him my purse, I reached in my center console and I grabbed my gun and I pointed it at him, and it scared him off,” the woman said.

The woman says the man ran down an alley that leads to the back of a nearby Albertsons grocery store. He disappeared from sight. She can only wonder what might have happened if she didn’t have her pistol.

"He probably would've dragged me out of my car and kept beating me... I honestly don't know if he would have stopped," the woman said.

The suspect remains at large. KBOI 2News withheld the identity of the victim to protect her.

Brother, i'm starting to like this YouTube thing you're doing, get the shows a little sooner.  I went  to sheepdog seminar in Chattanooga couple weeks ago, it's amazing how different I feel... it was like a revival for Patriots. But anyway I was wondering if you ever put your info pack together.  The church security info pack you used to talk about every week that you were working on it but I don't think you have mentioned it in a while. And you really don't know how good you made me feel when you and Doug were talking about cigars the other day, so I guess I know what to get you for your birthday LOL. If there's anything I can do to help the two of you and the show please let me know.  you and Doug are a true blessing!  by the way, this week's show with Matt Reynolds, he is very impressive.

A Priest, A Minister, A Rabbi And A Bear
A priest, a minister, and a rabbi want to see who’s best at his job. So each one goes into the woods, finds a bear, and attempts to convert it. Later, they all get together. The priest begins: “When I found the bear, I read to him from the catechism and sprinkled him with holy water. Next week is his first Communion.”

“I found a bear by the stream,” says the minister, “and preached God’s holy Word. The bear was so mesmerized that he let me baptize him.”

They both look down at the rabbi, who is lying on a gurney in a body cast. “Looking back,” he says, “maybe I shouldn’t have started with the circumcision.”

Cannibal Jokes (Jeff Quinn)

  • A cannibal passed his brother in the woods.
  • Two cannibals were eating a clown. One looks up and says, "Does this taste funny to you?
  • One cannibal is telling the other, "I ate this priest wearing a robe and sandals yesterday, and he tasted terrible!"
The other one says, "Well, how did you cook him?"
    "Well, I boiled him."
"There's your problem. He was a FRIAR!"

Hi Troy and Doug. just finished my last drive for the week. 10 hours on the road + load and unload time. I just wanted to say you guy are still doing an awesome job and keep up the good content.

I'm just about ready to pick out my first pistol and I don't know what do do. i need something for competition so I'm thinking 9mm. Now i have small hands and when shooting the Sig P226 in the army i found it to big. The one time i got to pick up a Glock the trigger felt squishy, is that what all glocks are like? i like the cz75. it sort of feels about right but haven't shot it. Are there any pistols you would recommend? I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject. thanks.

2 suspects shot after attempted robbery on Abercorn St. near Truman Pkwy.
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
Two armed would-be thieves tried to stick up a Brinks truck parked near a storage business off Abercorn Street near the Truman Parkway. But the guards inside the truck were able to defend themselves and shot both suspects, who then ran from the scene but didn't make it far.

"We had a great, timely response by the officers in the area. And we had some concerned citizens that helped us and guided us to the right direction. And that's one of the reasons that this turned out as well as it did this afternoon,” said SCMPD Capt. Ashley Brown.
Neither Brinks employee was injured.

The suspects have been identified as Gregory Plair, 32 and Joshua Scott, 21. Both are facing charges of aggravated assault with intent to rob, criminal attempt at hijacking a motor vehicle and criminal attempt at armed robbery.

Thanks to assistance from the Brink's security guards and local citizens, police were able to quickly apprehend one of the suspects at a nearby apartment complex. Minutes later the second suspect showed up at the hospital and was taken into custody.

Both suspects received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Sad But True
Unfortunately many homes, yes even so-called Christian homes, are like the one in which the little girl pointed to the Bible on the mantle that was never opened, and said to her mother, "Whose book is that?"

Her mother quite startled by her daughter's question replied, "Why honey, don't you know? That is God's book!"

The child demonstrating that she had a very practical turn to her mind said, "Don't you think that we had better give it back to him? No one around here ever reads it."

Weekly Bible Verses:
The Whole Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:10-20 (ESV)

Smith County resident prevents attempted home invasion
CBS19 KYTX
SMITH COUNTY - A Smith County resident was able to scare off would-be robbers at his home Monday afternoon.

According to Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith, four suspects drove up to a home in the 4900 block of County Road 246 in a blue or maroon-colored Impala. They got out of the car and started banging on the front door and windows of the mobile home.

The male resident went out the back door to confront the suspects as they started to break the mobile home windows. One suspect shot at the mobile home several times, and the male resident returned fire. The suspects then got back into the car and drove away. No injuries were reported and no property was taken during the incident.

The Dead Mule

A Pastor went to his church office on Monday morning and discovered a dead mule in the church yard. He telephoned the police. Since there did not appear to be any foul play, the police referred the Pastor to the Health Department.

They explained, "Since there was no health threat you'll need to call the Sanitation Department."

When the pastor called the Sanitation Department, the Manager of the Sanitation Department said, "I can't pick up that dead mule without authorization from the mayor."

The Pastor was not at all too eager to call the mayor, who possessed a very bad temper and was always extremely unpleasant and hard to deal with, but, eventually, the Pastor called the mayor anyway.

The mayor did not disappoint the Pastor. The mayor immediately began to rant and rave. After his continued rant at the pastor, the mayor finally said, "Why did you call me any way? Isn't your job to bury the dead?"

The pastor paused for a brief prayer, and asked the Lord to direct his response. The lord led the pastor to the words he was seeking, "Yes, Mayor, it IS my job to bury the dead, BUT I always like to notify the next of kin first!"

Put Not Your Trust in Princes

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! 2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; 7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; 8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. 9 The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Arizona trooper shot in ambush attack; Good Samaritan kills gunman

By ABC7.com staff

Thursday, January 12, 2017 08:16PM

TONOPAH, Ariz. (KABC) --

An Arizona trooper trying to help a motorist in a rollover crash was shot in an ambush-style attack by a random suspect, who was then fatally shot by a Good Samaritan driving by.

The trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) was at a traffic stop when he received a report about a driver whose car was shot at near a median at milepost 81 on Interstate 10, reported ABC15, an ABC affiliate in Arizona.

The trooper left the traffic stop to investigate this call when he came across a rollover crash and saw that a woman had been ejected from the wreckage.

When the trooper began working to block lanes, a suspect came from an unknown direction and "ambushed" him, according to DPS.

The suspect shot him at least once in the chest-shoulder area and fought the trooper to the ground.

A passerby saw the fight unfolding and stopped to render aid to the trooper, who asked for help.

However, the suspect ignored the Good Samaritan's orders to stop attacking the trooper.

That's when the passerby went to his car, grabbed a gun and fatally shot the suspect, reported ABC15.

DPS said the injured trooper, who has been with the department for 27 years, was taken to an area hospital, where he was awaiting surgery. He is in stable condition.

The woman who was ejected in the rollover crash died from her injuries, authorities said. The cause of the wreck was not known.

DPS Col. Frank Milstead said he has yet to speak to the passerby, but he had this message for him:

"Thank you because I don't know if my trooper would be alive today without your assistance."

The incident was under investigation.

The Duck Dog
An avid duck hunter was in the market for a new bird dog. His search ended when he found a dog that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by his find, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him. He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, the eternal pessimist who refused to be impressed with anything. This, surely, would impress him. He invited him to hunt with him and his new dog. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. they fired, and a duck fell. The dog responded and jumped into the water. The dog, however, did not sink but instead walked across the water to retrieve the bird, never getting more than his paws wet. This continued all day long; each time a duck fell, the dog walked across the surface of the water to retrieve it. The pessimist watched carefully, saw everything, but did not say a single word. On the drive home the hunter asked his friend, "Did you notice anything unusual about my new dog?" "I sure did," responded the pessimist. "He can't swim."

Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. John 15:7-11 ESV

Today in 1815, Americans defeat British forces at the Battle of New Orleans!

Did you know that we used to celebrate January 8 as a national holiday, with fireworks & celebrations, just like the Fourth of July!

We felt that we'd won the war that was, effectively, our 2nd war of independence! The outcome of the Revolution had been more than just a fluke!

On December 24, 1814, Great Britain and the United States signed a treaty in Ghent, Belgium that effectively ended the War of 1812. News was slow to cross the pond, however, and on January 8, 1815, the two sides met in what is remembered as one of the conflict’s biggest and most decisive engagements. In the bloody Battle of New Orleans, future President Andrew Jackson and a motley assortment of militia fighters, frontiersmen, slaves, Indians and even pirates weathered a frontal assault by a superior British force, inflicting devastating casualties along the way. The victory vaulted Jackson to national stardom, and helped foil plans for a British invasion of the American frontier.

Man shot during home invasion; suspect in custody
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police have a man in custody for a burglary that ended with two people shot. Officers were called to a home in the 7900 block of Victory Drive in Wards Corner around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. They arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and are both expected to fully recover from their injuries. Detectives have determined that 22-year-old Robert Hicks forced his way into the home, then exchanged gunfire with a 23-year-old man inside. Both men were shot. Hicks is charged with armed burglary, according to Norfolk Police. A witness at the scene told 10 On Your Side, “I was sleeping and about an hour ago, and we heard, pop, pop gunshots. My son immediately came to the room,  woke me up … I look out my window, and I see them (police) out there with their guns drawn.” This witness, who did not want to be identified, said she heard police tell a man to “get on the ground” at least 10 times. She said she feared there was going to be a standoff between that man and officers.

George Suprenant

Hello Brothers,

This month my Wife and I celebrated our daughter’s first birthday and I wanted to thank you for the show.  It has helped me through self doubt, overtime to make ends meet, and long nights with a fussy baby.

Our daughter is such a blessing and a MUCH better child than I deserve.

I joke with my Wife that if God never gives you more than you can handle then I must be a lightweight with how good she is.

Our decision to have my Wife be a stay at home mom has predictably made things a little tight money wise and I have been praying with my Daughter every night for God to give me wisdom to make good choices with our money.

If you guys have room for us in a prayer I sure would appreciate it.

Thank you for your time and congratulations on the move and new expanded video capability.   It has been great to see you guys on YouTube!

George.

Weekly Bible Verses:
James 4:13-17

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

MABLETON, GA (CBS46) –

Two men tried to outgun the owner of a gun store in Mableton, but it did not work out as planned.

It happened Monday morning at the Dixie Gun and Pawn on Veterans Memorial Highway in Cobb County.

Jimmy Groover told police two men wearing masks came in with guns drawn, demanding that he get on the floor, while shouting they were going to kill him.

Groover said he was wearing a pistol on his hip, and he used it to fire back at the robbers, killing one of them.

Police said a series of bullets were fired in both directions.

One of the store’s front windows was shattered from a gunshot.

The other man escaped in a silver Dodge Charger.

Groover and his family have run the store in the same location for about 30 years. He said his store has been broken into more times than he can remember, but no one has ever tried to rob the place while it was open.

Mistletoe
Shortly before Christmas, a business man was anxious to get home. The business trip had been grueling and he was not in a particularly good mood. The airport loudspeakers blared Christmas carols he was sick of hearing. He thought their decorations were tacky. The worst decoration, he thought, was the plastic mistletoe hung over the luggage scale.

Being in a grumpy mood, he said to the woman at the counter, "You know, even if I weren't married, I wouldn't kiss you."

"That's not what it's there for," said the attendant. "It's so you can kiss your luggage goodbye."

Hey Troy,
I love your show! So glad I found your podcast, I look forward to listening every week. I've been wanting to get into deer hunting, but not sure where to start. I'm thinking a .270 or 30-06 cartridge, and some people from my church have said a good rifle would be Winchester 70, Remington 700 or a vanguard weatherby? I just wanted your guys opinion on these thing and if you have any other budget minded suggestions for a beginner. Thanks for your time and God bless

Off Duty Deputy Assaulted
KHOU Houston Tx

PORTER, Texas- The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying three suspects accused of assaulting and attempting to rob an off-duty deputy at a convenience store on Saturday night.

According to MCSO, the incident happened around 6:50 p.m. at Summer Hills Food Mart located in the 24200 block of Sorters Road.

Authorities said the Montgomery County deputy and his wife had stopped at the store to get bags of ice for a trip. He was in his private vehicle.

As the deputy started to put the ice in his ice chest, two men approached him and hit him in the head and jaw. MCSO said the suspects continued to assault him in the robbery attempt.

The deputy's wife then got out of the truck with a handgun. The deputy and his wife shot at the suspects and their vehicle.

Detectives believe there was a third suspect in the car during the robbery attempt.

Several agencies have attempted to locate the suspects no success. The Houston Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle believed to be the one in this incident.

MCSO is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1000 cash reward for information leading to the arrests of the suspects. If you know anything regarding the incident or suspects, please call 1-800-392-7867 or visit here.

Man shoots 2 armed men who tried to rob him at ATM, police say

PITTSBURGH - A man shot two would-be robbers early Thursday an ATM in Homewood, according to Pittsburgh police.

The 42-year-old man told police he was using an ATM on North Homewood Avenue shortly after 1 a.m., when two masked 16-year-olds with guns approached him and tried to rob him.

Police said he pulled out his own gun and shot one of the would-be robbers in the leg and the other in the stomach. The man, who was not injured, had a license to carry the firearm. "The victim happened to have a weapon that he is licensed to carry and he used that to defend himself in this situation," police spokesperson Sonya Toler said.

Both of the would-be robbers were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police recovered the teenagers’ guns at the scene.

Charges against them are pending.

Hillary Clinton died and went to heaven. As she stood in front of Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates, she saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. She asked, "What are all those clocks?"

Saint Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock.

Every time you lie, the hands on your clock will move.

"Oh," said Hillary, "whose clock is that?"

"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved indicating that she never told a lie."

"Whose clock is that?"

"That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have only moved twice telling us that Abe only told 2 lies in his entire life."

"Where's my clock?" Hillary asked.

"Your clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan."

It takes me a little longer to mow the yard than it does to listen to your show, so it’s great to load you up on my phone put on the headphones and enjoy the great and meaningful content while I cut the grass. Now that winter is approaching I’ll have to listen without mowing.

I came across your podcast by being a Full30 watcher and then getting into the FireArms Radio through Jon Patton and Adam Kraut on the This Weeks in Guns.  Keep up the great work for God and Guns!

I do have a question.  You promote Frog Lube, and I’ve seen some mixed reviews, yes I know you will with any product, but was wondering if either of you have had some of the issues of it getting gummy or sticky?

Hey Troy and Doug, thank you again for the show. What are y'all's view on the protesting and rioting over the election. Do you believe the Millennial presence in these protests are a result of no discipline as a child? As a Millennial myself, I am disappointed in my generation. A good portion of us are normal, but we all get lumped with the cry baby protesters. I believe it is time for them to step into the real world and see complaining about something that you don't agree with doesn't fly in the business world.

P.S. i would like to take you up on the sample of frog lube. I want to try it out and compare it to Rem-Oil.

Hi Troy,

I just finished your latest podcast and I too love when the leaves begin to turn and fall, it means deer hunting is not far away.  I love to apply and thrilled if I get drawn for a general deer permit on the Navajo Indian Reservation.  I'm a tribal member and have been doing most of my hunting on the reservation, from a small boy with my dad to now with my wife and daughter.  I love going back out and seeing the areas that remind me of my childhood and now making memories with my family.

I appreciate the topic this past week and look forward to the next podcast.  The election is over and God's candidate has been elected and I will continue to pray for our president (Mr. Trump) and his administration to bring God back into our Country.

See the attached picture of my daughter's deer shot last month on the Navajo Indian Reservation.

thank you and God bless.  I love the crossbreed holsters and hope to get some froglube soon.

P.S.  What sources do you have for AR parts?  I'm looking for a 20", mid-length 5.56 barrel, chrome moly with a 1:8 twist.

And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in. "If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly; then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭58:10-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Passerby shoots, kills motorist assaulting deputy after traffic stop

Published November 15, 2016 FoxNews.com

A driver who attacked a Florida sheriff's deputy Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander who warned him to stop beating the officer, according to a report.

The incident began at around 9:30 a.m. when the Lee County deputy tried to make a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Estero. Instead of complying, witnesses said the driver took off, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

The deputy chased the suspect onto an exit ramp, where a witness said the suspect got out of his car and assaulted his pursuer.

Shanta Holditch told WZVN that the suspect pulled the deputy out of his car and "just kept beating him and beating him ... throwing him to the ground and punching him in all different directions."

At that point, WINK reported, another driver got out of his car and ran to the scene. He told the suspect that he'd shoot him if he didn't stop beating the deputy.

"[He] refused to get off the officer and the officer kept yelling, 'shoot him, shoot him, shoot him,' Holditch said.

When the suspect didn't stop his attack, the third man shot him three times. The deputy was not hit. The suspect later died.

"I heard like three shots. He fell down on top of the police officer," said a witness who would only give his last name, Smith.  "After a moment, the police officer rolled him back over, got on his mic, then rolled over back on the ground besides the guy."

Authorities have not identified the suspect or the person who shot him and it was unclear if charges would be sought. WINK reported that the suspect was armed and the bystander who shot him possessed a concealed weapons license.

WINK identified the deputy as Dean Bardes, a 12-year veteran of the Lee County Sheriff's Office. He was briefly hospitalized with minor injuries, but later released

The southbound off-ramp at Exit 123 was reopened Monday evening after being closed for several hours while investigators worked the scene.

Cat for Sale
An art connoisseur passed a little grocery in New York when he noticed a kitten on the front step lapping up some milk in a bowl. The cat was mangy with one ear half chewed off and clumps of fur missing. What really caught the collector’s eye was the bowl the kitten was drinking from. It was a rare antique worth thousands. He walks in the store and offers $20.00 for the cat. "He's not for sale." Says the store owner. "That's ridiculous!" Says the collector. "He is one of the ugliest cats I've seen. He must be for sale. I'll give you $100.00 for him." The store owner thought for a second and said "It's a deal." The connoisseur hands the store owner the money, which he quickly pockets, and as he starts out the store asks "For that price I'm sure you don't mind sending that old bowl with him. He seems so happy drinking from it." The store owner says " No way. That's my lucky bowl. From that bowl I've sold 26 cats this week!"

Troy/Doug, I came across a couple quotes that you might enjoy. I think our founding fathers were on to something.

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776

"Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every country in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops."
- Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, October 10, 1787

Clarkston resident shoots, kills intruder; two suspects arrested
DECATUR, Ga. - Two men have been arrested for their involvement in a home invasion in Clarkston that left a third suspect dead.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, Benjamin Jeffrey Florence, 26, and Tyler Alexander Brown, 21, are both charged with felony murder. Officials say Florence and Brown conspired with Curtis Bernard Turner, 32, and forced their way into a home on Parkline Drive on October 10. Great show, The greatest, impossible to find a better one.

Troy,

I ordered a shirt about two weeks ago, it came in the mail two days later. That is faster than the big internet stores, I am impressed (and a very cool shirt also). I am up to podcast 112, listen to it all day at work.

Wish list:

Rifle - have all the rifles I wanted

Shotgun - Same

Handgun - 2 Ruger Vaqueros in .357 mag.

Ammo - all I can buy.

Living in New Jersey, makes it a challenge (high taxes, low pay).

In the bible Jesus told us to to pray in secret, why do churches pray out-loud during the service? It would seem that they are doing what we were told not to do.

I am very glad you do not pray on the podcast.

Troy, Doug,

To borrow a line from  Rush Limbaugh: you two have talent on loan from GOD!

Keep up GODs work

Sir,

I was listening to your podcast this week and continue to hear you promoting Frog Lube. I have looked into it at my LGS, but I can't justify the price just to try it out. You had mentioned reaching out to you for samples. I would love to try it out if that offer is still on the table.

I have been listening for a few months now and enjoy your show every week. Keep up the good work and keep fighting the good fight. God Bless!

very respectfully,

Andy Wrenn

Cover wear

Hey Troy...

I have been thinking about a topic I would love you and Doug to cover.  I am always having a heck of a time with clothing to cover my weapon and not print. As you know I'm a smaller frame which makes it very hard to conceal a larger pistol.  Maybe this is something you guys could cover or maybe I missed an episode

God Bless

Mike

Ps did you make it out this way?  We headed back to MT and WY hitting Yellowstone again Grand Teton and Glacier.

Police: Father shoots home intruder who tried to start fire

Police say a father shot a home intruder in the stomach after the intruder broke into his family’s home and attempted to start a fire early Sunday in Central Lubbock.

Police responded to a burglary call about 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of 28th Street, according to a statement from Lubbock police spokeswoman Tiffany Pelt.

Officers arrived to find the suspect lying on the floor with a single gunshot wound to his stomach.

The victims, a family of six, told police they were sleeping when the man broke through a back door and entered their kitchen. One of the victims heard the man and alerted his parents there was an unknown man in their home.

The father told police he warned the suspect he had a gun, police were on the way and he needed to leave.

“At that point, the father says the suspect told the family to get out of the house as he poured lighter fluid on the floor and attempted to light it on fire,” the statement reads. “The father says he told the suspect to stop or he would shoot, but the suspect became more agitated and began approaching him until he could no longer back up. The suspect was then shot in the stomach.”

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Covenant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. None of the home’s occupants were injured.

Detectives with the Lubbock Police Department’s Persons Crimes unit were called to investigate. No arrests were made by late Sunday morning.

Blonde Horse Sense
A blonde buys two horses and she can't tell them apart. So she asks the farmer next door what to do. He says to cut one of their tails off. So she does. But then the other horse's tail gets caught in a bush and rips off. So she can't tell them apart again. She asks the farmer for advice a second time. He tells her to cut one of the horse's ears. So she does. But then the other horse gets its ear ripped in a barbed wire fence. She is still confused. She asks the farmer what to do. He tells her to measure them. She comes back and says, "The white horse is 2 inches taller than the black horse!"

God Blessed the US. Guns made it great.
They have talent on loan from GOD

Hi Doug and Troy,

Thank you again for your work in producing the God & Guns Podcast. The show is on my 'must listen' to list each week.

The last time we were in contact, I mentioned that I was building an online store to help finance my new gun hobby.

Doug, you had mentioned you had wanted to know when the site launched. The site launched today after 6 months of design & development work. But now the real work begins.

The feeling I have today is like I built a car for the Daytona 500 and now it’s the morning of race day. Will it go fast? Will it make it to the finish? It is a special feeling. Man I love starting this new venture.

Thanks again for your encouragement!

Blessings,

Jeff Schultz

Troy thanks for the patch I love it.

I was listening to you describe  the recent questionable character that you sat behind in church. I couldn't help wondering why you wouldn't consider using a non lethal option such as gel pepper spray? I always have a non lethal option available.

Thanks for all you do for the cause of Christ and gun rights.

Concealed Carrier Saves AutoZone Employees
At 9 p.m. on Friday, three armed robbers went into a Houston-area AutoZone store, where they held employees at gunpoint and demanded they empty the till. What the suspects didn’t see coming: a concealed carrier pulling into the parking lot.

When the good samaritan saw what was happening from the parking lot, he quickly drew his concealed carry gun, walked into the store and demanded the robbers drop to the ground. He then disarmed the robbers while Houston County Sheriff’s deputies were en route.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the encounter.

All three men were arrested and will likely face felony charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Their fate will be decided in one of Harris County’s State District Courts.

The concealed carrier was released and will not be arrested for his actions.

Under current Texas law, concealed carry (LTC) permit holders are allowed to use their firearms to protect their lives and the lives of others.

While police appreciate this concealed carrier’s bold move, police do not recommend other concealed carriers to take such bold moves. According to police, things could have ended badly, resulting in a shootout or numerous people being hurt.

Currently, the Harris County Sheriff’s department is not releasing any more information on the three suspects.

Thank you so much for your podcasts. It is great to listen to people that are like me and "defend the weak" as the Psalms say. I was listening to some of your old podcasts from August where yall mentioned about carrying in church. I thought yall would appreciate this that my pastor was a SWAT and police officer and carries. There are also about a dozen people who carry and a few (including me) that will be when the legal age.

It was pretty cool timing on listening to that podcast, in my Philosophy class at my college (which is a Christian College) we were talking about in this time of evil, what can Christians do and how t explain to non-believers why God lets evil happen. I randomly picked a podcast to listen to while i studied and what you said, and what the question I was dealing with matched up perfectly! God is pretty awesome

Good Morning Troy,
I love the podcast. Thanks to you and Doug for the time you take to share your gun knowledge and the word. I am a huge jeep lover and have often thought it would be great to start a podcast to share jeeps and God.
I come to you from West Grove Pennsylvania.
I have been currently thinking about my church and that we have no security or response team. Would you be able to give me some ideas of where to start and with who to get something like this started without stirring the pot within the church to much.
Thank you,
Keith Binkley

Weekly Bible Verses:
1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" 4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.5 And I said: "Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!" 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for." 8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here I am! Send me." Isaiah 6:1-8 (ESV)

United we stand, divided we fall. ~Aesop

The first attributed use in modern times is to Founding Father John Dickinson in his pre-Revolutionary War song "The Liberty Song", first published in the Boston Gazette in July 1768. In the song Dickinson wrote: "Then join hand in hand, brave Americans all! By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall!" Kentucky entered the Union on June 1, 1792. A little over six months later, on December 20, 1792, the first Kentucky General Assembly adopted the official seal of the Commonwealth, including the state motto, United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

'United We Stand' license plate designed by Troy Wingard for the South Carolina Department of Public Safety in 2002

Patrick Henry used the phrase in his last public speech, given in March 1799, in which he denounced The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions. Clasping his hands and swaying unsteadily, Henry declaimed, "Let us trust God, and our better judgment to set us right hereafter. United we stand, divided we fall. Let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs." At the end of his oration, Henry fell into the arms of bystanders and was carried almost lifeless into a nearby tavern. Two months afterward, he died.

Atlanta Woman Exercises her Right to Defend her Livelihood
Posted at 9:25 pm on September 22, 2016 by Beth Baumann
Last week Friday, three men kicked in an Atlanta, Georgia suburb home around 4 a.m. The first burglar was met by a female homeowner who reached for her firearm. The woman fatally shot the initial intruder, 28-year-old Antonio Leaks, in the torso. The other two suspects returned fire before fleeing the scene.
The home invasion was caught on security cameras from inside the woman’s home. “It’s not common that we receive this caliber of surveillance video showing the crime unfold, an actual home invasion,” Cpl. Deon Washington with the Gwinnett County Police Department said.
“She exercised her right to defend her livelihood and property,” Washington said.
Gwinnett, Georgia police are relying on the surveillance video to identify and apprehend the two men who remain at large. Both men are described as African American, between 20 and 30 and around six feet tall.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Gwinnett Police Department at 770-513-5300. Anonymous tips can be left with Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.

A Hymn with Punch

A preacher was finishing a rousing sermon against the evils of drink. His voice filling the church, he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

Growing more impassioned, he shouted, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

Finally, he thundered, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river." He sat down.

The song leader then stood up and announced, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn #365: 'Shall We Gather at the River.'"

As a fellow Christian I find it very refreshing to see other men openly praising Jesus. I really enjoy the podcast and think these guys are a great team. I have enjoyed the variety of the topics they cover, not just boring springs and trigger gun talk. A very down to earth opinion of two guys that are not employed in the gun market. Thank you both for taking your time to share with us your valuable opinions. I believe our country needs more men like us in our countries current situation.

God Bless and Stay safe

From Kaleb Olson

Troy and Doug,
Hello, my name is Kaleb Olson and I have been listening to your podcasts for a few months now. I am very passionate about firearms and am a proud follower of Jesus. I am a junior biology major in college and have been blessed to be able to lead a small group for a college ministry called SALT Company. My mentor and I had an extended conversation about concealed carry and self-defense as Christians. We were wrestling with the topic because if we truly have put all our trust in Jesus Christ than who are we to take our lives into our own hands by defending them with a firearm or other self-defense weapons?

One of your podcasts I had listened to, you guys made King David the example. King David killed many men and many in defense for his life. King David is obviously considered a man after God's own heart but as I stated above, we couldn't help but to feel like our trust might not be in the Lord if we choose to defend ourselves. I mentioned your podcast to my mentor and we mutually sought to get both of your input on this topic. I already know your answer but I would like your explanations. I would greatly appreciate it.

I would also just like to extend my sincerest thanks to you for using a platform such as podcast to boldly spread the gospel. If I may, I'd also like to make a prayer request. Our church is growing at an astounding rate and as such we were looking for a new building. It just so happens that another local church was considering finding a new location and we are actually "swapping buildings". I'd ask that you pray that we are able to raise the funds to make all the payments on the new building and that it won't limit our ability to do ministry by cutting our current budget too tight.

I plan on leaving you an iTunes review in the near future when I get some time and figure out how to do it! Lastly, I'd like to commit to buying a patch, t-shirt, and one of the decals! I'd like the t-shirt in medium please. I noticed you have them up on the website store but I figured since I was already in contact with you about this that I'd just order them through the email! So I'd like your instructions on payment.

Once again, thank you and I am greatly looking forward to your input.

God bless,

Kaleb Olson

70-year-old man fights off home invader, KRQE, Albuquerque, N.M. 09/09/16

A 70-year-old man who walks using a cane was at home in Tijeras, N.M. when an intruder broke into the house. The home invader attacked the elderly man with a hockey stick and a piece of bamboo. The elderly man responded to the attack by retrieving a .38-caliber handgun and shooting his assailant, killing him.

The elderly man’s neighbors were supportive of his actions, with one telling a local media outlet, “Good for him. That’s awesome that he was able to think that fast and he was able to protect himself.” Another neighbor added, “Thank god that he’s armed and you know, most of us up here are. I hope people see this is not a good place to come for sure.” (KRQE, Albuquerque, N.M. 09/09/16)

Two little boys were known troublemakers, stealing everything they could get their hands, even from the church. One day a priest stopped one of the boys and asked, "Where is God?" The boy shrugged and the priest repeated, "Where is God?" The boy ran out of the cathedral crying to his home where he hid in a closet. Eventually his brother found him and asked, "What's wrong?" The crying boy replied, "We're in trouble now! God is missing and they think we took him!"

5 Star by Rexrider - Sep 8

Been listening faithfully since first discovering the podcast. The chemistry of Doug and Troy make for entertaining discussions. With a focus on the christian firearms enthusiast the content is relevant and consistent. The guests have always been interesting and current. As a believer it is critical that we feed our minds with righteous content and avoid the worldly distractions. At the same time those of us who love guns need to have a voice in the marketplace and you guys seem to represent us well. Blessed to have found you.

As you know my beloved California is increasing gun restrictions and is now implementing a worse requirement on AR's that will force as of 2017. All who want to purchase an AR will no longer have a bullet button to be able to eject the magazine the only way to eject the magazine will be by removing one of the pins that holds the upper receiver to the lower receiver and breaking it open and either loading the ammo in that way or in some way removing the magazine. Therefore I have chosen to make sure that I buy a lower receiver or lower receivers(3) so that once the law goes thru I will be able to grandfather in my bullet button lower receiver. Ideally I would love to buy 3 100% finished lower receivers which are registered already. This would allow me to purchase "3 AR's." But, without having to pay a high amount of money up front and instead I can build my AR's at my pace. But, when I mentioned this to my wife she asked me why would you purchase 3 ARs and why I would want multiple firearms in the first place? I honestly did not have a legitimate answer for her as to why I would ever need to have three ARs for any situation. I am also looking to buy a few handguns for her and I. I honestly just want to know why would I want to have multiple fires beyond a firearm for my wife and one for myself. One of the reasons I gave her for as to why I wanted to buy three AR lowers is because in case one of the lowers has some type of defect in the future I can just use one of the other lowers. I am getting a good deal on the lowers that I am planning on purchasing about $120 a piece great manufacturer and great quality. So from your point of view Troy and Doug why should I have multiply firearms? Why should I purchase the 3 lowers that I will be grandfathering into California's never ending increase of gun restrictions? What are the reasons why I should have ARs at my disposal? What benefits assuming the right situation would present itself would having both an AR and a side arm be beneficial? I really want to be able explain to my wife these things because I know it's important to have multiple firearms but I just don't know the right reasons. Crime has increased by 100% in my city people in my neighborhood are being broken into by criminals and they are attacking in group 2 or more I really feel I need to pull the trigger on making my purchases I just want to make sure my questions are answered by experienced men of God and that have knowledge in the gun world. I want to make sure that I am ready to defend my wife and our home to the best of my ability if there would come a time that I would need to do so I pray it never happens but I don't want to leave it up to chance and I want to make sure that I honor God as the Head of my home. Thank you Troy and Doug I appreciate you both taking the time to read my message I really hope to hear from you soon God bless you and your families are and our great country.

I'M SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW and can't believe what just happened!!!

I had to leave the house to run to the store to pick up a few things. When I got back to the house there were three Sheriff's vehicles and four deputies in our home. The front door had been knocked off the hinges, stuff was thrown everywhere, and apparently they were looking for something. Then they wouldn't let me inside, (My family was sitting on the front porch bench in the heat), and the deputies are searching through everything, even going through my refrigerator. They checked inside the closets, under our mattress and just generally tore everything apart.

As you can imagine, I'm a bit upset and trying to figure out what's going on. I asked if they had a search warrant. The deputy in our bedroom shouted, "Where did you hide it at? We know it's here! We are searching." I yelled back, "If I had an idea of what you're looking for sir, maybe I could help!" He shoots me the "You wanna go to jail?" look, so I shut up and watch one of the other deputies look down at his phone. He calls out, "Guys! Stop! Hold on. We're in the wrong house! The Pokémon is next door!"

Listener Feedback
Hi, there

I've only found your website today but I had to contact you. I'm a born-again Christian from London (25 years old), my dad was in the Parachute Regiment and I've grown up learning about and loving firearms. However, as you may know, most firearms are illegal in the UK (with the exception of double barrel shotguns, some rifles, .22lr calibre weapons and some other shotgun variants, all with limitations). I grew up firing air rifles and air pistols, and was fascinated ever since. I've educated myself, to some degree, on firearms. My first passions were WW2 weapons, particular American and German (Mauser K98 is my favourite bolt action rifle). I wish the laws were different here. I completely disagree with the handgun ban, as I find it utterly ridiculous (we can own .50 BMG rifles, but not 9mm handguns ?????). The ban was a result of a school shooting in 1996. Since then, crime (including gun crime and murder) soared. It peaked in 2003, I believe, and gradually reduced. However, it's still bad. Only gangs and special police units have guns. Hardly any citizens.

I also agree with your stance on self-defence (a right I am not entitled to in my country). The Bible makes no indications that protecting ourselves, or more importantly the innocent is an act of evil or sin. I'm glad to have found some Christians such as yourselves and would like to keep in touch. I'd love to visit the States one day, my dream is to live there in a free state.

Please get back to me.

Regards

Joseph

Hey Troy,

I have been only listening for a few months now after being told about your podcast from a Lawyer doing concealed carry legal seminars. Love the show and that you guys have great passion for both guns and our Savior.

The name of the lawyer was Michael Giaramita, Jr. Author of "Pennsylvania Gun Law Arm and Educated" 2016 edition.

Thanks Chuck

Hey Troy,

First off, thank you to you and Doug both for the great podcast. I've listened regularly since I found it the end of March, shortly after I was saved on March 23rd this year. The positive inspiration and reflection you two offer is great and I appreciate the time you put in to the show.

I'd love to buy two of your new patches. If you'll let me know how you prefer payment and a total I'll send it right over.

Thanks again,
Alex

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knox County deputies are searching for a man who tried to rob an East Knox County store with a knife, only to be chased off by the store clerk who was carrying a handgun.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect entered Danny’s Market, 1203 Andrew Johnson Highway, around 10:39 p.m., walked up to a customer waiting to pay for her items, held a knife to her throat, and demanded money from the store clerk.

The clerk refused to hand over the cash, instead pulling out his handgun and forcing the suspect to leave. The suspect used the customer as a shield as he backed out of the store and ran off. A witness tried to follow him, but lost him at Clear Springs Road off Mascot Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 25 to 35 years old with a stocky build. He was wearing a gray, long sleeved T-shirt; light blue jeans; and kept his head covered the entire time. He was also wearing possibly camouflage face paint.

I booked a 5 day hunt in Kentucky this season at Whitetail Heaven.  It's a $4900, 5 day rut hunt that's paid in full.  The only problem is that when I booked it I didn't realize I booked it the same week my wedding was planned on.  It's killing me because I'm not gonna get to go.  If anyone would like to go in my place just shoot me a message. It's at a little church in central Texas.  Just outside Burnett. She's an awesome woman.

I love listening to Troy and Doug Both are Godly men speaking on topics that affect all Christian, gun owners. I love hearing them speak on their feelings on gun ownership, as well as the teachings they layout from the Bible. Although they aren't my neighbors, they feel like good friends that I've known for ages. I look forward to their podcast every week. They make me laugh and encourage me both in my beliefs involving God and my beliefs on guns. God Bless!

Afternoon gentlemen like all that you do for God and guns. I live in New York NOT THE CITY upstate and we would like to cut them from the rest of the state. Keep doing what you are I enjoy listening too the both of you.

Sincerely Harry

Troy, (From June 24th sorry I didn't find this one until this week.)
I am an avid listener of podcasts and love yours also.

For about the last 4 episodes I have been having an issue - when I listen to your podcast it causes my iPhone to "reboot"in the middle of the podcast - typically 3 or 4 times per podcast.  I have 5 or 6 other podcasts which I listen to consistently - and yours is the only one I am having this issue with.  For what it is worth, I am using Apple's built in Podcast app to download and listen to your podcast.

Do you have any input or advice? A no, outside my pay grade.Maybe Doug knows

Thanks - Tim

91-year-old Right-to-Carry permit holder defends himself against robber, WXYZ, Detroit, Mich.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2016

A 91-year-old man was in the parking lot of a Rite Aid pharmacy in Eastpointe, Mich. when he was approached by a man acting erratically. The stranger followed the elderly man and pointed an object at him. The 91-year-old, who is also a Right-to-Carry permit holder, responded to the threat by drawing a gun and shoot the assailant in the neck, prompting the man to flee. Police eventually caught up with the wounded man who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, Eastpointe Deputy Police Chief Eric Keiser told a local media outlet, “This was an attempted robbery of the shooter… The person who fired the shots had a CPL and was lawfully carrying a handgun and said that he defended himself when he was attacked.” (WXYZ, Detroit, Mich. 08/22/16)

Only three doors

An airline captain was breaking in a new blonde stewardess. The route they were flying had a layover in another city. Upon their arrival, the captain showed the stewardess the best place for airline personnel to eat, shop and stay overnight.

The next morning, as the pilot was preparing the crew for the day's route, he noticed the new stewardess was missing. He knew which room she was in at the hotel and called her up wondering what happened. She answered the phone, crying, and said she couldn't get out of her room. "You can't get out of your room?" the captain asked, "Why not?"

The stewardess replied: "There are only three doors in here," she sobbed, "one is the bathroom, one is the closet, and one has a sign on it that says 'Do Not Disturb'!"

Police officer's cousin uses officer's gun to fight off armed robbers in NYC,

New York Post, New York, N.Y. 08/16/16

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2016

A pair of thieves, at least one of whom was armed with a gun, approached an off-duty police officer who was with his girlfriend and cousin outside a bar in New York City. An altercation ensued, during which the officer’s cousin was able to retrieve the officer’s gun from his vehicle. Once armed, the cousin shot one of the robbers. The wounded thief fled the scene, but was found at a local hospital a short time later.

With the incident having occurred in one of the most anti-gun jurisdictions in the country, the New York Post noted that the officer “could face disciplinary charges for not securing his gun and allowing the weapon to fall into the hands of a civilian.” The wounded robber was determined to be a parolee.
